We've visited in both early/mid August and early/mid June and will need to do the same next year as well. I wished I'd paid more attention so I could compare. For those regulars, would you say early/mid June or early/mid August is more crowded? We always stay on-site so it isn't so much a matter of lines for rides. However, the pool areas can become very crowded if we return in the afternoon for a swim, the restaurants closer to actual meal times are busy and just the general crowds as you're moving around within the parks. In the same respect, how would you rate the weather during these two times? Pretty similar or no? I'm leaning more towards going again right when school gets out in June (2016) but would still like to hear from regulars if there is a notable difference b/w these two times or anything else to note when comparing June to August trips!!

From what I was reading this year, lots of days in June had pretty short wait times. I was really surprised. I'd choose then, if were me. Also, weather is less iffy in June. Though hurricane season starts in June, you are more likely to have bad storms in August in comparison.

On the other hand, we don't know whether the new Kong ride will open as early as early suumer or not. If it's on your to-do list, maybe August is safer?

Revised the above, escriven75. Not sure you saw the second paragraph.

I agree with HM about going in June. However, kong opening is something to consider.

we are waiting till August. One of the big reasons we are going is KONG and last I heard they were running behind schedule ..Also depends on what universal considers "early summer" Calendar summer starts Mid June.Add to it any potential delays or glitches with the ride and I think we are safer waiting

:hourglassThe latest news I read said the tentative date for The opening of Skull Island is May 28. I hope it is because we will be there June 4-11. We will have to wait and see!:hourglass
