June No Buy--Spring into Summer with a little extra cash

May:
31-no buy #1
June:
1- $5.00 tip for delivery driver (cookies were free using credit)
2- no buy #2
3- $7.44 tip for delivery driver & delivery fee (Disney movie night--pizza was free using Papa John's rewards); $13.28 lunch w/ coworker; $14.36 lunch for the boys;
4- no buy #3
5- $8.49 for one dozen donuts at Krispy Kreme (Sunday morning tradition...may switch to every other Sunday though)
6- $46.90 bike+helmet for my little one
7- $30 (family lunch at Chili's)

Ugh! I was too embarrassed to show my face here yesterday lol. Yes, I should have gone grocery shopping, but we took the boys to Chili's for lunch instead :( Today will be better

You got a great deal for lunch for $30 at Chilis!!!!

Jen and Ashwin, those sound cute. I've never been to Slickdeals. I have a feeling this may be a spending day!:faint:

It's a great site for finding deals, but sometimes you see a great deal on something you don't really need ... but you still want. I just couldn't resist for $0.72!

I have been already buying some birthday and holiday gifts when I see a really great deal. I got Mr. Smith goes to Washington on Bluray for my dad for just $6. This will be part of his birthday gift in October.

Wow JenandAshwin! My Dads birthday is in October also! I get paid in a few days, so I will start looking more closely then.

Well, today was not a no spend day. I have wanted to buy a Landrys card for awhile, as we have a RFC here and we want to take my grandmunchkins there in a few weeks. Since it is in the mall, it can get really crowded so the priority seating will be nice. So, I spent $25 and am counting it today vs counting it when we go to lunch, lol. It's the little things.

8- $95 Disney gift card (used my red card for 5% off of $100); $59.33 for summer clothes for the boys

Unfortunately I had another spend day. I just can't win smh. The boys really need summer clothes because they only have school uniforms lol..so I ordered some from Target. I always get them matching outfits (lame, right? Lol). I got 8 shirts, 6 shorts, and one set for my oldest. My youngest already has the set, but I was happy to see it offered in the larger size online. I used a 20% off coupon + $5 off $50 + 5% off with red card. I will get maybe $12 back because i couldn't find that set in store a couple of weeks ago, I just got a similar looking shirt & pants that I will return since now they can be matching woot woot!

I also used my 4x fuel points coupon to buy a $100 Target gift card then purchased a $100 Disney gift card for $95. After my transaction was complete, the cashier told me I should have purchased the gift card on the weekend so I combine the 4x fuel points offer with the 2x summer fuel points promo.... Like literally seconds after the transaction went through, she told me this ugh! That was a fail on my part. I don't think we need more Disney gift cards, but I will buy another $100 one on Friday just in case :)

That's including the tip. The boys and I split the triple dipper. We got sliders as all three options then added a side of fries. We had three sliders left over. My husband ordered the lunch special which came with a soup/salad and an entree for $8. The great thing about Chili's is the kid's drinks are always free so they got their own.

I got a Landry's card a while back when we were first planning our WDW trip. My oldest son loves dinosaurs so I knew he would love to have a meal at T-Rex cafe, and I read that you pay $25, but you get it back as a welcome reward. I also use Bing rewards to collect Amazon gift cards so I was planning on purchasing a $25 TRex gift card from Amazon so we would have $50 for dinner. I think we still may do this since our return flight is at 7pm, and we won't have free dining for the last day.

I plan on buying an additional gift card from Swagbucks for Landrys also. I figure we will use it eventually!

Hung in there yesterday by the skin of my teeth! DH teaches at the University level and never has classes between the end of April and the beginning of September, so he works from home. Specifically the living room couch. So, he's underfoot a lot. A LOT, a lot! And I often want to go out running errands....just to get some alone time. I know it's mean...but you know how sometimes EVERYTHING he does gets on your nerves and you think you're going to go insane?? Yesterday was one of those days. But I had a goal and I was determined not to spend. So I stayed home. And didn't injure my husband. Win, win!!

My Mom always said she liked my Dad even more when he worked, then after he retired. She said he followed her everywhere through the house later l.

Ok, no buy day. Only because my daughter stopped to get our bearded dragons crickets, so I didn't have to go out!

Planned spend today. Had to get DS new dress shoes and new sandals. Got them on sale and had a coupon for an additional 20% off so they were $20 each. Not too shabby. Had to get DD new runners but the shoes I got myself were 70% off and completely unnecessary! LOL Hers were 40% off I think. Hers were $35 and mine were $25. Mine come out of my monthly spending money and were a reward to myself for losing some weight whilst on a low carb diet this week. All the essential items come out of the clothing budget. I borrowed against next month for all but DS's pants.

Had to get DS the church pants I talked about earlier in the thread. I got him a pair for $10. Also found a pair of pj's for DD at the same store for $10. She is nearly 13 and is switching over from kid sizes to woman sizes, so this is her first pair of ladies pj's and she was thrilled!

Had to get DH a couple new pairs of pants. He waits and waits and WAITS until it's dire straits time and I hate that. I've been keeping an eye on sales and got his stuff at Old Navy. The pants were 30% off and I had $10 in super cash, which made the pants about $18 each.

So I feel pretty good about my purchases today. I saved a good amount of money and got some items we really needed. I also lost weight this week and got a treat! Pretty dang fabulous!!

Well today I did spend money, but only for grocery/cleaning items. But......

The boys wanted ice cream cones! I was good and got unsweetened tea, but not a no spend day.

I"ll make you feel better. The clerk was wrong. You wouldn't have gotten 8X the fuel points if you waited for the weekend. The summer 2X fuel points special is just for groceries.
