I'm going to WDW June 10-20 and I was wondering if anyone could let me know how you think the crowds will be. I know it's pretty much peak season, but I figured that most kids are still in school for some of that time, so maybe it won't be too overly crowded. What do you think?

Hi and welcome to the DIS!

Summer crowds start to build Memorial Day weekend and get larger and larger the deeper into June you go.

Many schools--especially in Florida and other parts of the South--are out by the second week of June.

Mid-June will be crowded...not as bad as July, but you'll have lots of company!

Probably not what you want to hear, but we have been to Disney a couple of times in June around that time and we just went on our first august trip (19th - 28th) - June was much more crowded!! It also seemed hotter then if that makes any sense...

June is still do-able, just prepare for the crowds and the heat. Any time at Disney is fun! :)

Thanks for the help - I'm going to just prepare myself for the worst (as far as heat and crowds) so that I'm not disappointed. And maybe it won't end up being as bad as I think. Either way, I'm still super excited!

We went this past June. The parks were crowded and hot. Get there early in the morning. Buy a fan mister before you get to the park. Usually we had good luck with lines during the early evening hours. :earsgirl:

We went this past June too. We were there the last two weeks of the month and the crowds were not too bad the first week but the second week (week before 4th of July) were terrible. We were expecting that though, but what I got tired of was the constant storms. But that is Florida and we are going back again next year! But we will go from June 9-June 18th I think. The plans are not totally set yet.

We did have a great time and that is all that matters. You will too.
Good luck!

Linda

We were at WDW from June 15-23. It was the normal summer crowd until around the 20th when it got JAMMED!!!! I could not believe the difference in the crowd size at all the parks. Luckily we already did everything we wanted and were re-riding some of the rides so we did not miss anything. As someone said, get to the park EARLY....before opening. The lines at the entrance start forming about 30 minutes or so before park opening. We found that if you go left in the Magic Kingdom you will find the areas very peaceful. We got to see Mickey's Philharmagic with about six other people on a Thursday morning and there were no lines at Big Thunder or Splash Mtn. However, when we tried Tommorwland first it was really crowded and we headed back to Frontierland where it was (again) quiet for the first couple of hours. Getting to the park early and using Fast Passes will get you through. Just make sure everyone drinks water at every opportunity. The heat can sneak up on you if you are not prepared.
