June car rental...just got a great deal with Alamo

I'm so lost..I haven't rented a car before. Anyway I am looking to rent from June29th at 11am till July 7th at 7pm. I joined Alamo insiders and I can't get anything less than 500.00. I have 2 in car seats so I need at least a mid suv or bigger. Also I am a Costco member, do you book on their site? Any help would be great!

Full size cars accomodate 5 people, many people with 2 car seats are able to use a mid or full size car without a hassle. I would use the Costco codes via the insiders web site. Also, you are a bit early for a late June rental. Prices tend to drop the closer you get to your dates.

I have never been asked for anything at the gate and I've used questionable codes on many occasions, that being said a little digging you can find "public" codes that get the rate at least as low as Costco. I've found that signing up for the Insiders will get you just about the best rate.

I was a gate agent and I do know you can ask for any membership cards, the fact that you have not been asked does not mean it cannot happen. Insiders does provide some great rates and coupons and we don't have to ask for anything as you cannot use the code/coupons unless you are an Insider member.

I just picked up a midsize car (economy was the same cost) via expedia for June 10-17 for $136 taxes included. The company is Enterprise. Looks like rates are starting to drop a little for June!

Did you use any codes/ membership #s? Lowest I can find is around $300. I need this rate! Thanks!

I am renting through Costco for 130.06 for a mid size SUV for a week in June. I also booked my daughter/family through Costco (they arent members).. I cancelled her booking, after reading the warnings on this thread and found another that gives the same great deal.

We are renting from the Disney Car Care Center and dropping off a week later in Ft. Lauderdale
We are staying at Shades of Green and they have an Alamo desk but the rate is much higher...Funny thing is...I talked to the lady at the Car care center and she said that they will either pick us up at SOG or they will arrange for us to pick our car up at the hotel for the lower price. She said it doesnt make sense to make you come here when there is a desk at your hotel. Either way we got a great price.

Yes, I checked the rates at the SOG location but they arent showing the rate. i talked to the lady at the Disney Car Care Center and she said they will either pick us up at SOG or arrange with the Alamo desk at SOG to provide us with a car for the discounted rate. SOG rate had a 34.00 hotel concession rate which also brought the rate up. Either way it will work.

No codes were used. I was just using them to keep an eye on price fluctuations mainly. When I saw the rate pop up, I jumped on it.

For some reason returning our rental to FLL is saving us money (usually that is not the case) The original post I made was just base rental rates with Alamo, no codes. I have since managed to change the ressy to a mini van for $250. I guess they are expecting a shortage of cars in FLL for the 4th of July week?? When I checked the same dates but returning back to MCO the price was actually higher.
It does seem like in general car rental rates for June are fluctuating which is good news for everyone, they were stuck pretty high for the past several months. Just keep trying everyday. The rate I got two days ago is no longer available so you really have to be diligent in checking.
