June busy at DL? Booking out...

I think we're looking into June of 2006 to fly out for DL's 50th celebration. I know that is far out there, but we're thinking about using our Disney Vacation Club points towards our room.
We'd like to stay at DLH. Do you think we need to book right at our 11 month booking window? Will these hotels fill up for this event?

And just how busy is June typically anyway? On our point chart for 2005 its shows June as value season! But yet in a guidebook we saw June was most crowded. Odd.

The first week of June isn't too bad, but after that it just gets more and more crowded as schools let out for summer break.

I used to live in Phoenix Arizona until about 4 months ago, and we used to drive to DL alot because it was only a 6 hour drive, so we were there during many different times of the year.

I think in June the parks will be fairly crowded. Schools start summer break at various times between May and June. (Arizona schools let out mid-May) So, take into account that summer vacations will be in full swing by then.

We made the mistake of going to DL in mid-march of this year. Our son was on spring break from his school, and we thought that most schools don't start spring break until April, so it shouldn't be very crowded at all - right? WRONG! It was so packed with people that we stood in line all day and only got in about three rides per day, and that's using FastPass!

If you can, I would go in early, early May, before any schools anywhere start their spring break. After mid-May and through the summer, it's going to be crowded.

Anyway, whenever you decide to go, I hope you have a GREAT time!
