YAY! I get so excited to read another Marcia dining report. Especially since next time I go to disney world I can finally drink and need to scope out all the good drinks;)

Thanks for the update! That sushi looks good!

yeah, it was yummy!

Great Update Marsh !! I tried CHH this May and had the fish it wasVERY good !!!

thanks, yeah i love that place! might have been the only counter service i went to the whole trip...probably was!

I love CHH! Great review. It's such an interesting and different CS food choice. And the Goofy/Aaron thing is super cute and funny. I'm in the process of trying to figure out what my trip mascot will be, since I'm going solo again.

i know i already replied, but i didn't mention that i hope you do find a perfect mascot for your trip! it makes it fun when you're not so "alone" lol

World Showcase, alcohol, 6.12.09

Took myself a nice nap, ended up sleeping til about 4:50pm. Got up, walked myself over to Epcot, in time to grab myself a Welsh Dragon from the R&C pub before hitting the 5:30 Off Kilter! I must have been in a rush, though, because I didn't manage to get a picture of it. I apologize. But at the same time, it didn't look any different from all the other ones I have shown and/or will show you :)

Jamie was the only regular there, so that was kinda a bummer. Oh well, still had fun.
pic107.jpg

Between the 5:30 and 6:30 show, I wandered over to France to get me a slushie. On my way over, I spotted the hot air balloon thing they're doing at downtown disney now.
pic118.jpg

Oh, and of course, the lovely slushie machines
pic119.jpg

And my choice, the Grey Goose, of course. In case you haven't read my other reports, I have tried the orange one once, and I much prefer to Lemon Grey Goose one :thumbsup2
pic120.jpg

Yummy yummy yummy, so damn good!

On my way back to Canada, I heard the British Invasion, so I walked through, but really, they just don't sound very good anymore. Although, you may enjoy them. I just don't anymore, LOL!
pic124.jpg

Saw Off Kilter at 6:30 again, yay! Oh silly Jamie
pic154.jpg

Then wandered around the UK and Canada for a bit, before stopping into the Rose & Crown Pub again, to get me another Welsh Dragon.

And then I went to the last show of the day at 7:30. They made me giggle
pic168.jpg

Since I had a Boma ADR that I needed to get to, I walked myself to the front of the park to get a bus to the AKL. Stopped and took a couple pics on the way. I was glad to see the fountains, they were down for maintenance on my trip in March.

Not til next October (saving up to go Deluxe and stay at the Polynesian)
But Im getting the feeling going to the tune - in lounge seems like a great idea especially if Dave is as great as you say! :)

I saw the British Invasion in May and quiteenjoyed them but even more was the guy who at first just appeared t be "audience"" who was up front ! When they played Roll over Beethoven ... he did and then we all KNEW he had to be a CM!!! But it was FUNNY!!!

Love, love, love your reports and reviews!!!! I think you were there the week before me. Oh and belated Happy Birthday. My trip was "My Birthday" trip also as my birthday was 6/24. I actually wore my b/d button. My DH gets the biggest kick out of that!

Anyway, I just had to say "thanks" for the A category!!! I've seen people walking around with what I thought were just "slushies" and now I know what they actually are! I'll definately be gettine one next time.

Well I haven't finished your entire report;which I will do later. Again thanks; this is wonderful!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

While I will drink both slushies I much prefer the Grey Goose one too! Drinkers cant be choosers!

YAY! Another trip report from Marcia! I have been waiting on you girl! I have a couple of questions for you, since you stayed at the swan, could you get magical express service if you wanted to? Also, do the buses run pretty much like the resort buses, about every 15 -20 minutes?

Stacy

Hey Marcia, I had my very first "Marcia Punch" at the Tune-In Lounge. It was as good as you said.

Boma, dinner, 6.12.09

Ah, I must apologize for being away for so long! Seriously, I'm so so so sorry! Life has been getting in the way! Anyway, so yes, dinner at Boma. My first time to have dinner there (had breakfast before) and I was so so so looking forward to it! And it did not disappoint! I arrived from Epcot to the AKL at around 8:30 and checked in. I headed to the bathroom, and my pager went off right away! Awesome! I was seated, and I took some pics of the restaurant.

pic208.jpg

I also snapped a pic of the page of the drink menu of the drink I was getting. I've had it before, and I really do enjoy it. It's the Fusion Lemonade
pic206.jpg

First picture is She Crab and Coconut Curry Seafood Soups
pic210.jpg

Absolutely loved both of these! I'm a seafood lover, so this is no surprise. And as much as I dislike coconut, this soup was still good to me. The coconut was subtle enough that I still enjoyed it very very much.

Oh, and then my drinks arrived. My alcoholic Fusion Lemonade and my included in the price of admission...plain old diet coke. Yeah, awesome ;)
pic212.jpg

Next up, some more soups. Lamb potje and butternut squash soupl
pic213.jpg

Pretty much, I wanted to try almost everything (other than beef, cuz I don't like beef), so I tried these out. The Lamb soup was alright, not a fav. But the Butternut Squash was sooo good! Nice and creamy and butternutty. I love that vegetable, so it's not a surprise I loved the soup.

Next up, I decided to try out some of the salads. So first we have an apple and jicama, then a fried platain and corn, and finally, a spinach and quinoa.
pic214.jpg

I don't remember too much about any of these salads. Although, I do know that I love quinoa and I enjoyed that one very much.

Again, I went back for a taste of some more salads. Watermelon rind, and some sort of pasta salad. Some fruit, then a couple of types of hummus with pita to dip in it. There was some sort of olive hummus, but I hate olives, so I didn't bother with that one.
pic216.jpg

I've heard great things about the watermelon rind, but well, it wasn't to my liking. Too bitter I think. The pasta salad was okay, as was the fruit. I do love hummus, so this was a nice treat.

Next plate, I decided to try some of the "main" fair. From 11pm going clockwise, we have Potatoes with Afritude, Pork Shoulder w/Boma mustard, mealie bread, salmon w/coconut curry sauce, marrakesh couscous, Pap and chaka laka, and fufu in the middle.
pic218.jpg

Honestly, it's been a while. I really should do these reviews faster. But I do remember loving loving loving the couscous marrakesh. This may be because I love couscous and vegetables, but there you have it. I think I liked the fufu as well. I need to take better notes. I wrote down what everything was, but not if I liked it or not! Next time, I promise to be better!

Okay, so I still wasn't done. Not even close! Next plate, from about 7 oclock we have blackeyed peas with ginger sauce, some sort of yellow rice, roasted vegetables, corn and spinach pudding, and some sort of roasted chicken in the middle.
pic220.jpg

Yum yum yum! Blackeyed peas I just wanted to try, they were okay. Rice, you can't go wrong. I love my veggies, so these were good. But let me tell you, I do remember that corn and spinach pudding. It was like something that should have been sweet, but it was savory. I can't quite place it, it was like a cornmeal mixed with a pudding, and oh my goodness, it was delicious! I want to go back to Boma for this dish! So so good! Oh yeah, I had chicken on this plate too. It was chicken. Honestly, nothing I remember at all.

Yeah okay, still not done eating. I got me another cup of the coconut curry seafood soup. Honestly, really don't like coconut, but this soup was just that good!
pic222.jpg

One more trip for dinner food, all of my favs! Couscous Marrakesh, corn and spinach pudding, mac & cheese (i'm a kid at heart!!), and some more hummus and pita.
pic223.jpg

Like I said before, that corn and spinach pudding was out of this world good! And I'm a hummus kind of girl, so yeah. This place was the bomb for me!

Oh let's not forget desserts! I've had zebra domes before (from the mara, not from boma, so it may be a weeee bit different), but I was so looking forward to them anyway!!!

On my dessert plate, we have banana bread pudding w/vanilla sauce, a fruit tart, peach cobbler, 2 zebra domes, and a pineapple upside down cake
pic226.jpg

Bread pudding was okay, but no where near Ohana standards. The rest of it was okay. Zebra domes were a little melty, but still delicious.

Overall, excellent dinner with excellent service.

And afterward, I decided I needed to go the MK night time EMH. Silly, I know, but I've loved them in the past. Ended up being way way way too crowded for my liking, but I was glad I did it anyway.

Especially cuz I ended up getting these from a wonderful Cast Member who just happened to have a few goodies in his pocket...
pic230.jpg

That's right...I was going home on the 15, these were good til then, SCORE!!!! Ended up using them the next day, my last day at the MK. Ah, heaven!!!!

Apparently, I ended up going on Small World. Since I force myself to go on it once per trip. It's nostalgic. And all that kinda stuff.
pic245.jpg

I left before the EMH was over, since it was way too crowded for my liking. Ah MK EMH at night during the slower season is so much more worth it! Can't wait to go back in October!!! Main Street on the way out
pic247.jpg

next up: lunch @50's Prime Time w/my fav waiter!!!
