June 8, 2010 WONDERful 5 Day Key West Cruise

We're nearly packed - mostly because it's dance recital all day Saturday, and leave at 2am on Sunday to make our 5:30pm ADRs at the Yachtsman's! :rotfl2: All the packing has to be done by Friday night - and if I have anything to say about it, it'll be completely done, packed in the car, and ready to go so all we need to do is get up and go on Sunday!

1 week from today I'll be grabbing breakfast at BBB! And with any luck, I'll actually have the whole family with me so we can eat outside, rather than having to carry a tray+ back to the stateroom! :rotfl: I don't know why they think vacations are for sleeping in... ;)

Amanda

It sounds like you've got a busy weekend Amanda, I hope the dance recital goes well

I don't know why they think vacations are for sleeping in... ;)

We are so excited! :banana: It's hard to concentrate on work!! We are only 2.5 hours from the port, so we will drive up on Tuesday morning. I just don't see us packing until Monday afternoon, but I have a dozen bags from Target with toiletries and the like just waiting to get into a suitcase. I am still looking for a good glow-in-the-dark travel clock and a toothbrush holder with suction for the bathroom mirror (we used to have 2 of these--one has jumped ship) as that really helps with the bathroom clutter. And some new bathing suits for DS since he keeps growing! Of course, some cute outfits have mysteriously found their way into my closet along the way. How does that happen? :confused3

Hello everyone!! :wave2:

I am going to try and post again ...I have tried 3 times today but I have trouble posting from my work computer since they have a "filter" on discussion boards... ggrrr :headache:

Good news !! For those of you listening to my 'tail" of dog woe (my sick Bailey) her blood test from yesterday came back normal!!! Yay!!!! :goodvibes I don't think she is entirely out of the woods but the fact that her platelet count came up to normal with the meds (steroids) is the best news we could hope for right now. They will draw blood again while she is boarded there (while we are gone) and they will try to wean her off the steroids. I won't bore you with all the other details, but overall, good news! We can enjoy our trip knowing she is better!!! So thanks again to all for your concern and support!

Now...I really have to start packing. I am getting stressed!!! ONE MORE WORK day and then I have Friday and Saturday to pack!!! :scared1:

One more SHOUT out to anyone who has teenagers that want to talk (text) with my DD14 Megan before the cruise...she would really like to "know" a few people before she walks into Aloft ...alone! Anyone?? KyRob, do you have a teen daughter? PM me if you are interested.

That's all for now!!! See you all SOON!!!! :goodvibes

Hi Andrea!! I'm so, so, so happy for you. I really understand the pain you've been through (I don't know if I wrote that ok) ... Hope your dear doggie keep improving.

I haven't started with my bags yet. Waiting for the weekend. I'm finishing my FE gifts and the magnets for my door.

My oldest daughter is 12 and she is extremely shy. Hope they can get along.

Nos vemos pronto!!!!!:dance3:

great news Andrea!!

I'll pack sometime Sunday. Most of everything is in a spot in my closet so it will be simple. My boys will be going to Great Wolf Lodge for the week w/their grandparents, I'll have to have them all packed up Saturday. We're almost there! :banana::banana::banana::banana:

:yay::yay: Woohoo !!! :yay::yay:

So a week today it will be our 'Day at Sea'. We have got Palo Brunch booked, and we plan to spend the rest of the day sunbathing, chilling, eating and drinking cocktails ~ bring it on !!!!

Oooh, it's getting closer !! :banana:

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

So glad that we're almost here! Today we'll finish packing except for the last minute things that we can't pack early and we're doing all of our printable projects and packing those....

Can't believe we're so close to our first cruise!!! :cool1:

Amanda

LOL on the sleeping in, I haven't slept in since I don't know when. Especially on vacation. My niece keeps saying I am killing her (we are leaving home by 4:00 a.m. on Sunday to catch our flight.
Our bags are packed except for a few dress clothes still drying. I love packing early less chance of forgetting something less stress. See you all soon I hope everyone has an uneventful trip to the ship.

It is our first cruise also. And I am doing the happy dance and thinking about what I will be doing this time next week.

Us too!!

Today we've actually accomplished a lot, and I plan to work some more tonight in the hopes of finishing a little more...

Today....
  • Made matching shirts for first day and pirate night
  • Made "1st Cruise" buttons for each of us and a graduation button for my dd18
  • Taped photo mats and wrote out requests for autographs
  • All Memory Cards are emptied and packed
  • Rechargeable batteries all charged and packed
  • Last couple magnets printed for door
  • Designed/Printed gift tags for our FE gifts
  • Went by liquor store and picked up ready made margarita mix (yum!)
  • Close my Cafe on Cafe World, harvested last crops in Farmville until we're back home, and sold all my fish in Fishville... :rotfl:
  • packed completely except for what we need between now and then and what I'm hopefully finishing up creating tonight

I did read on another thread that we hopefully can drop off luggage with AS Movies that we don't need on cruise and they'll transfer to Pop who will store it so we unpacked today and repacked accordingly hoping this works out and we can not carry the extra suitcase on the ship...

Today was REALLY productive....off to try to finish a few more things before bed

Can't believe it's really almost here!!! :woohoo:

funny thing...I'm in a big competion w/my SIL on farmvile and she just might beat me next week!! :eek: Such big concerns!! LOL! Oh, and I just finished my own mani-pedi. really didn't want to take my gross toe to a salon ;) And yes, I did buy some pink disney princess bandaids to cover it :laughing:

Oh dear, you have both made me laugh out loud this morning. I dare not get into Farmville or Cafe World as I spend more than enough time on Facebook as it is :rolleyes1

I hope your toe is OK Debbie :)

Well this will be my last day on-line. Hubby and I will be heading to a hotel at Manchester Airport tonight and flying to WDW tomorrow morning

I had my hair cut yesterday, and my nails are being done this afternoon, and once my dresses are packed, we'll be ready to go

Have a safe journey down to WDW or the Port everyone and I'll see you all on Tuesday

:yay::yay: I can't wait :yay::yay:

Ohh...a woman needs so much extra time to get ready for vacations. I had to laugh reding all the posts about mani/pedis/ haircuts/ etc. :goodvibes:goodvibes I too have appointments for all these things. Today a haircut is on the list (it's also the last day of school for the kids-yippee), tomorrow is mani & pedi for myself and my daughter.:hippie:

We don't leave until Monday, but I hate last minute packing so I'm trying to get it all done. The kids are packed up, but I keep putting off packing my hubbie's and my own stuff. I need to do one more load of laundry for a couple of items :laundy:.

This is our first cruise too. How many of us are first-timers?

:yay::yay: I can't wait!! :yay::yay:

I'm half packed. Taking my dd (4 1/2) for her first mother daughter pedi. It's really for me to ease the mom guilt of leaving the kids home:guilty:. Guilt will be gone after the first drink :cool1:. See you all real soon.
