June 6-13 Trip Report. Sisters, Misters, Rain and Blisters--The Whole Story *Long*

Hey jennymouse!

I loved reading your trip report! We were there about the same time as you, and yes, the rain really caused some problems for a few days.

I had a very similar situation as I had varied ages in my group, and it's so hard trying to keep everyone happy. I feel like I'm trying too hard sometimes, but it's just necessary in order to keep the peace. My plans don't always happen, and there is never any real time for just me, but I probably knew that going into it. I had so many things I really would have liked to have done, but with several people with their own agendas, it makes things hard. Thank goodness I didn't have the sunscreen and slow eater problem! I have really learned you can't make all of the people happy all of the time, although I usually want to keep trying anyway.

BTW, if you ever need someone for company on a Disney trip, I'll gladly volunteer! And I have no sunscreen or eating issues, either! hehee

I hope your daughter is fully recovered by now, but I know from experience that it truly takes a while to feel back to normal after that type of surgery. I would have worried, too.

Are the villas very large compared to a regular room? I would like to see one sometime. Maybe next time we go I will see if there is one they will show, or maybe they have pictures. Anyway, I really enjoyed reading your report!

Thanks for preparing this trip report.

You mentioned Diane was a survivor of domestic violence. It doesn't excuse her socially inappropriate behavior at all, but it might explain her desire to have complete control since she can't control her home environment (and her passive /aggreeive behavior)

You can feel certain that the joy and beauty you helped her and her relative experience will ring in her heart when the going gets rough (or sad memories come back to haunt her). You've taught your granddaughter about kindness and generosity and even cleaning her room! I'm sending smiles your way.

Great report.

I think you should stick to just you and your DGD. What a great time the 2 of you would have! And I agree that you should try to take her out of school for a few days. If you do a few trips just the 2 of you when she gets in High School and can no longer take trips during the school year you can start to take her baby sister.

Sounds like Diane was waiting for you to apply the sunscreen for her.

Great report as usual Jenny! I still remember the trip with your daughter. Poor girl. I'm glad you get to go so often, it makes it easier to have a good time and not worry about all the little things (and attitudes) ruining your trip! :duck: :goodvibes

I really enjoyed reading your trip reports! Thank you for sharing them.

I loved your trip report. I did a search for bodyglide and found that it is on sale at drugstore.com. I ordered 2 of them. I have also been using bike shorts under my skirts and such. I never realized that they made a product to help with that.

I think that we will be seeing a lot of people rubbing deodorant like stuff in dark rides all over WDW. :jumping1:

Thanks again for the report.

Jennymouse, enjoyed your trip report! Am a body glide user too but never thought to apply in dark rides--you do know that there are cameras all through those rides don't you? LOL.

When we go to WDW it's me (little older than you) and my 10yr old DD. Last trip we took one of dd's friends and also met up with another Diser and her 11 yr old. It is really fun going with more kids as long as everyone gets along. It was fun meeting a fellow diser and hopefully are trips will cross again!

If you and whoever your traveling companions de jour are ever in the world at same time DD and I are, maybe we can hook up and tour.

Again, enjoyed your report!

Sharon
