June 5 to June 24: Barcelona to Dover AND First Baltic cruise BACK 2 BACK CRUISERS

I survived my first day of training for the Census job, and the 65 mile drive to CO then back, but I get paid for the travel time! We got done early today, so I got home in time to walk dogs before dark. I was going to get up early and walk, but the wind was blowing 30-40mph, so I slept another 45 min instead! I also got in about 2 miles at lunch time. I also do not have to go back tomorrow, today we did mostly paperwork, next week starts the actual training.

I have not been on the boards since last Friday, we had a busy weekend, then I was in training for the Census job, and was gone 8 to 10 hours a day, with 2 hours of homework when I got home. Training finished today, I was promoted to Crew Leader (from Crew Leader Assistant), which means that I get to train a team of about 12 people, and get to supervise them - what fun! I will be spending the next week cramming with books on the training and the address canvassing itself - so that I will be able to answer any questions from my crew.

Weather has been really nice here, but I have not had the chance to really enjoy it, I only got out for a bit on my lunch breaks.

Have a great evening!

Oh My - we fell way off the line.....

Good Morning cruisers...sorry I have been remis in posting, but working 80hrs a week going to school and planning a WDW trip just tapped me out!

I hope everyone is well and safe and soon we get to start planning our cruises!!!

Countdown to commence June 5 :)

Cayla, look at Eurostar to get to DLP.

hmm - I will have to check into this a little more. Do you know if there are luggage restrictions? I would hate to loose a whole day, but this might be easier....thanks!

Good Evening Cruisers!

I guess my working 40 hours a week is no excuse for not being here, if Cayla is working 80 hours a week!

Today was a nice day after a week of lousy weather, still cold today, but sunny and NO WIND! We - the pups and I - got out for our first walk of the week! We all really needed it!

Have a great weekend!

Hello from SSR!!!

Stacey and I arrived VERY early this morning, our flight out of Newark left at 7am (eeewww).

It was raining and chilly, but finally cleared up and made it up to 80.

This week I am on vacation....not 80 hrs here!

Cayla

Cayla - hope you are enjoying your vacation!

The wind here finally calmed down to 20mph from 40 mph that it has been for the last few days - decided to take dogs for a walk - made it half way around loop when I got a call from one of my "crew" so had to cut my walk short to look up some stuff! Maybe weather will be a bit better the next 2 days so we can get in a few more miles, before it snows again over the weekend!

Have a great evening everyone!

Good Morning Cruisers!

I decided it was time to bring this thread back to the front of the list to see if we can get some more activity on it!

Cayla - are you still out there? Are you getting flooded out? Is school over for the summer - or do you go all year round?

Foggy and cool here this morning, again, high supposed to be only 60 degrees, and we are supposed to have thunderstorms this afternoon. Another day that I can put off dog walk until after breakfast.

We got a soaker hose set up to water the sunflowers yesterday - doesn't look they will need any extra water for a few days!

Have a great day everyone!

Hello, fellow cruisers!

Just a little heads up: Now that it is less than eleven months until our cruise, reservations are available at several Barcelona hotels. Substantial discounts are available for early booking, yet without penalty in the event of cancellation.

FWIW, I booked us into the same place we stayed before our Med cruise 2 years ago: Eurostars Grand Marina. No, you cannot walk to the DCL dock. However, it is QUIET (vs. La Rambla) and just a short stroll to La Rambla or the Aquarium area. Last time, DCL offered advance check-in in that hotel's lobby, which expedited the boarding process.

That tower out front is part of Transbordador Aeri del Port, the Cable Car to Montjuïc.

Barcelona is a magnificent tourist city, well worth a couple of days (at least).

Thanks for the info, we were looking at a place in the Gothic area.

But ya never know, starting to think about air fare.

Good Morning Cruisers!

It is good to see some activity on this thread! Yes, I really like Barcelona, unfortunately, we will probaby only get there the day before the cruise, but I would love to have the time to explore it again.

Have a great day all!

I think we will have about a day and a half there before the cruise.

whew...I had thought this thread died....

Lynn - sorry I missed your post, it happened at midterms week and I was swamped with both the midterm and final presentations I had to do.

We have not been flooded in either April or June, tho it did rain for 28 of 30 days here. I have been camping and eaten alive by misquitoes (hate those little blighters).

I have not yet checked into the hotels or airfare - I think I will get the TA on it next month. I was a little worried about the time off next year, my department was moved back under nursing services and the policies are all different. I don't see a problem now that we have been ironing out all that stuff for the last 4 months.

I am still going solo on this trip as of now, hunny-bunny is not interested....

We are off to WDW in Sept w/ a 7 day cruise at that time...looking forward to the trip!

I think I will add a countdown timer for this trip...I am starting to get excited about it, I have this gameplan:

fly into England then hop to Barcelona
stay 2 or 3 days in Barcelona
cruises
jump to Paris for 3 or 4 days
return to England then complete my RT flight to USA

any thoughts?

Long day yesterday getting ready to open the Tiki Bar.

Lynn can fill ya in on here knee, looks like she may have to put off the DL 1/2, I think she can forward her registration fee, or something like that.

I was stupid yesterday and picked up the Tiki bar and moved it by myself, back is a pinch sore today...

Relaxing this morn and watching The Tour..

Later kids we got a little cleaning up to do.

Cayla - your plan is very similar to ours, we will probably fly into Paris, as of right now, that is the cheapest we have found - take the train down to Barcelona, have 1 to 1 1/2 days in Barcelona - cruise - then back to France to tour the Normandy area, the fly out of Paris. Sorry to hear that your hunny will not be joining us - (how can you not be interested in the Baltic?)

Have a great day all!

cost, she feels the price is too high. Other cruise lines do the same circuit for a lot less money. If I were going on a line that cost less - she would be there!

Yes, I do agree that the cost is high - but we do all our cruises on DVC points - so that means we could not do another cruise line if we wanted to:rotfl:.

Have a great day!

Well - this thread has been a little slow (July!?!)

I have been so busy with school, working (seems like 6 days a week every week for months now), becoming single...lets see what else is new...

I have managed to find a roomie for both cruises...so I am back in the game!

The costs are changing..Disney has dropped the price, but to get the lower price one has to re-book...loosing any early booking incentive....

So...who is still going on the B2B?
