Hi, everyone! This is our new home so that we have a thread where we can post relevant information in the first post.

Click on the following link to access the old thread, but I am going to ask the moderator to lock the old thread as soon as possible so that we can keep all the posts here.

"Migrating" information from the old thread to here:

If you posted information in the old thread that you would like to have in this "live" thread, please copy and paste it here. As we go along, I will create and maintain an index in this post of where to find information in this new thread.

Once Dorothy gets the Fish Extender list underway, we will post the information up front here, too.

Cruiser email/contact/general information chart:

If you want to be on the list of cruisers with contact information, etc. that we will circulate by email, please send me a PM or send an email to me at keenercam@aol.com with the following information:

DIS Screen Name
Email address
Names of Cruisers in your party
Names and ages of "younger people" in your travel group (and their email addresses, if they'd like)
Where you are from
Your pre- and post-cruise hotel information
Cabin numbers
"Main" or "Late" dining

Please also confirm that I can put that information on the list and share it with others who have provided the same information, so that everyone can be in touch if they'd like via email.

Whew! I made it! :rotfl:

Quick question - is the spreadsheet also listing dining assignments (main vs late)? I ended up getting linked to other Dis'ers on the MV and we had a great dining experience.

Okay, I just sent out PMs to the 13 DISers who posted on the old thread that they are on this sailing, as well as my DH and my DD22. I am hoping this will become more and more active as the days tick down.

Shelley - I'd be glad to add "main" or "late" dining to the spreadsheet. Everyone can either PM their information to me, email it to me at keenercam@aol.com or post it here and I will continue to compile that information.

If anyone posts any new information here (or moves any information from the old thread to this one), can you please send me a PM if you want it listed in a sort of FAQ section in the first post? Sometimes, the DIS is very slow for me, but I can read my PMs in my email faster than I can get to it on the DIS. I'll add the page and post numbers to the soon-to-be index in the first post as soon as possible.

Dorothy, Once you have the FE list going, if you PM it to me, I will cut and paste it into the third post and then just keep replacing it with an updated list whenever you add to it.

Thanks, everyone!! :grouphug:

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

found ya'll!

i'm not a pro at these boards -- indexing info etc. so forgive me in advance for asking stupid questions about how to find stuff!

There are no stupid questions, as far as I'm concerned. We all know that even "what time is the 3:00 parade?" is completely reasonable to ask. ;)

Thanks to JillJill and IrishCowboy for helping us get this new thread up and going. :)

I wanted to share a website that my partner told me about and which I am using. It is a wonderful resource. You forward all your email confirmations to them and they compile an itinerary. It is amazing to have all that information compiled for you, rather than me having to type everything in a document. The website is tripit.com

We just booked our post-cruise hotel -- Ciutat del Prat. It is near the airport and has an indoor pool and fitness center.

I just sent you a post to add us to the cruiser's list...

Just set up my account on tripit.com - and all I can say is "WOW!!" That site is pretty darn cool! Thanks for the heads-up~ I'll be using this for all my future trips:yay:

Shelley - Isn't that incredible? I can't believe it is free!! Oh, and if they can't extract the information from the forwarded email, they tell you by return email and show you how to put it in yourself. Apparently they have coordinated their ability to do this with all these hotels, airlines, etc.

I just set up a new trip for our March weekend at WDW and they were able to input all my flights, rental car reservation, ADRs, etc. They just couldn't input our DVC reservation from the email because there was a link in it rather than the information for the DVC resort. I am still just blown away by this program.

By the way, I also downloaded the iphone app for tripit and now have all of that information in hand, literally. How stinkin' cool is that? Of course, I'll definitely have hard copies of everything for Europe so that I don't have to worry if I don't have internet access on my iphone at some crucial point in time.

I sent you all an email. If you haven't received it, please PM me or let me know because that might mean I mis-typed your email address.

If you received the email, please be sure to respond to it as soon as possible so that I can share all the great "hard copy" information that can't be posted here.

Here are details I copied from other sites on how to get around off of other sites for anyone wanting to do Monaco/Eze/Nice on their own. Cam - I am going to send you this in an e-mail - there is even a cool picture of what the buses look like on the streets! I want to see if I can get the map so when you print it it is not 1 inch total. Bottom line is - sounds like if you are healthy, you could WALK to Monaco!

These are the locations of the public elevators to bring you to Monaco from pier. They aren't easy to find but they are there. If you stop at the Tourist Bureau when you arrive and obtain a map you will be able to find the public elevators. They save a lot of up hill walking. This is the site where you can can get some good info.

http://monaco.angloinfo.com/information/27/busses.asp

Public Elevators
There are several elevators and travelators in Monaco making it easier to walk up and down the Principality's steep hills.

The moving walkways are located:

between the Place des Moulins and the beaches
between the Princess Grace Hospital Centre and the Exotic Garden
between the harbour and Avenue de la Costa
between the Place St. Dévote and the area of Monéghetti
between the Terraces of the Casino, the Congress Centre Auditorium and the Boulevard Louis II
between the Avenue des Citronniers and the Avenue Grande-Bretagne
between the highway and the Larvotto Boulevard

From the port, you can walk up to the bus stop for bus #112 (it's near the Tourist Info Office, uphill past the casino...or take one of the elevators to get up to the higher streets.)

Maps of Monte Carlo with the bus stop for #112 are a little hard to come by on the internet ... the best one I've found is in Rick Steves guidebook. Here's a link & if you can scroll back to page 633, you'll see where the stop is - #10 on the map. (The easiest way to scroll through the pages is by using the arrows at the top centre of the page, just above the map.)

I think you would benefit from having a guidebook such as Rick Steves Provence and the French Riviera ... both for the information and maps. I was able to borrow a copy from our local library.

Here's the Monday-Saturday schedule for bus #112. (CAM - THIS WILL BE IN E-MAIL - I cant seem to get this to look orderly on this site) Be sure to take a copy of the schedule with you as the buses run infrequently. The bus is 1 euro/person/ride & it's best to have either coins or small bills to give the bus driver. Be sure to validate the ticket that he gives you, by inserting it into the machine on the bus.

in Villefranche, bus stops for buses headed towards Monaco are on the side of the road closest to the port, and bus stops for those headed to Nice are across the street.

Eze bus stop location: The bus stop is at the base of the village...about a 10 minute walk uphill to where the shops are. The garden (where the spectacular views are from) is at the top of the village.

We are looking for 10 additional people to take the "Noble Palermo Tour" (please use google to search) I don't have enough posts to give a link.

If you are interested please let me know, we are trying to get a total of 15 people to keep the price down to 150EU pp. It's a fantastic tour/lunch combo part of the tour is led by a countess.

Looks like a very cool tour, but our big excursions are going to be in Rome and Villefranche, so this is out of our budget.

Hope you can find some partners!

Hi!

Just wanted to join the thread. My name's Jen and I'll be traveling on the cruise with my DH, John, and my two boys, Max (8) and Nico (6) - or at least that's how old they'll be once the cruise starts.

This will be our fifth Disney cruise and our second Med cruise. We are from California but are living in Switzerland (yes, just like macasi who we sailed the Baltics with last year). Also, we spent two weeks in Eze-sur-Mer last Easter, so we know those buses to Nice/Monaco and the train to Cannes/Antibes pretty well.

Oh, and we'd like to sign up for fish extender!

Just beginning to get excited for the cruise. Haven't started planning anything yet.

-Jen
