June 27, 2007 10 Night - The Rodney Dangerfield of Med Cruises

Has anyone taking Disney's Air had their flight arrangements posted yet?

My letter said my "air itinerary may be posted at soon as" 12-May-2007, but nothing new seems to be up. Or is it hidden somewhere on the website?

Okay I will make arrangements give me a ring when you get in, I am going into Paris Saturday Morning for a short tour!:goodvibes

It is supposed to open on Friday I am hoping to ride it multiple times! :cool1:

Besides if that is you holding that AXE I would hate to see you GROUCHY!:lmao:

That's not me...that's Carry Nation, the infamous prohibitionist, and her axe. I have been spending too much time on the resort board and their threads about what else they want to ban now that smoking has gotten it.

Yes, the Elipsos Trenhotel Joan Miro is what we're on. The roomette does look interesting. I've never traveled in a sleeper on a train before. I'm even excited for the dinner and breakfast in the dining car.

According to DCL's website, the port will be open for check-in starting at 10am, but I don't know if that means we can pass luggage off to them for stateroom delivery later or if we have to hold onto our things until they let us go to our staterooms (usually around noon-1pm).

It may not be an issue depending on what time we actually get to the ship. Does the train have a history of punctuality? How easy will it be to get to the ship from the train station? I can't figure out if it's walkable or if we have to hunt down a cab to get there.

We're lugging 2 girls: 11 and 4. I'm already figuring on getting a cab. Do you know what time we can board the train in Paris? I thought the trip was from 8:30 pm to 8:30 am. I was hoping to board earlier so we can have dinner at a reasonable time.

We did get our train ticket last Friday. It looks like a voucher. Will we need to exchange that for actual tickets? It says we have beds 11, 15, 51 and 55. Hope those are adjoining roomettes.

Too many questions... gotta get the t-shirts soon too.:)

Just popping in. We are on the June 16th cruise and are taking the Elipsos from Paris to Barcelona. Here is the link for the Elipsos: http://elipsos.com/htm/default.htm?lang=3. Once on the website click on the virtual tour link. Then click on the class you are in. It will show you a picture of the cabin. In the bottom right hand corner is a diagram picture. Click on that and it will show a diagram of all the beds and bed numbers. Have a great trip.

Oh no! I just checked CarolMB's link and we're at the opposite ends of the car! :scared1: I wonder how hard it would be to trade roomettes. I wonder too how many cars there are per class?

Thanks CarolMB for the link.

DD18 just turned 18, and is a little sad she won't be at the Stack, but is excited to be able to do the "adult" activities. Does anyone else have young adults going? Perhaps they could start emailing.

Our DD will turn 18 on the cruise and we have a DS who is 15. Let me know if you'd like to get them in touch with each other.

Has anyone had a guaranteed stateroom converted to your stateroom number yet? We have a Cat 8 guaranteed and are anxiously(sp?) waiting to see where we will end up cabin wise. Although, the longer it remains guaranteed the better chance of an upgrade?:confused3

According to raileurope:
Joan Miro:
Paris-Barcelona, 13 cars
1 Gran Class, 3 Club class,
6 T4, 1 Super Reclining seats,
1 restaurant car, 1 cafeteria-bar car

I don't know if/how one can trade roomettes. Perhaps raileurope can help you w/that. We're in coach 67 (grand), but even if you're in the same coach, it looks like we're smack dab in the middle of the coach and not adjoining to either roomette 1 or 5.

Faq on the Elipsos site says you can board the trenhotel 45 minutes prior to departure. I don't know if dinner seatings are available that early, but the bar car offers sandwiches, too.

That's where we are too - coach 67. Thanks ImprovGal for considering a trade. Guess we'll take a look at logistics when we board. We'll probably do 1 adult/child in room to keep them in check.

We initially tried booking the Club Class since they had adjoining doors, but we were told that it was sold out and only Gran Class was available. It must be a popular train.

Glad we'll "know" people on the train. See you then!

We're in coach 69 and have two (we hope) adjoining rooms. We just told our kids about the DLP and train to Barcelona part of our trip today. Now I feel like we can get more excited. It now feels real! Look forward to getting to know people on this trip. Seems like a fun group.

Check out the website Carolmn sent: http://elipsos.com/htm/default.htm?lang=3. to see if your roomettes are adjoining. That's how I found out we were at both ends of the car.

Ooh, the train list is growing too, anymore out there? I'm glad I booked when I did or we really would have missed the train. Actually, I should have booked sooner than I did. Oh well, just glad we got on.

Hey wait! She offered a trade? ;)

Not that I had even the slightest idea which coach I'm supposed to be in.

I'm guilty of planning ahead. I made our reservation at the 89 day mark because I really wanted to make sure I snagged grand class w/the value fare discount.
I'll be pretty easy to spot -- short gal w/the lime green spinner luggage.

I think we'll stick out pretty easily as well... running late, herding cats, stressed out dad. I'm still trying to convince DH to wear the t-shirts.

Anyway, just printed out the DCL packing list for ideas. We can definitely strike out the tuxedo and gown part right off the bat. I'm trying to see if we can pack lightly. Anybody have a good list to share?:confused3

Check out Rick Steves Europe through the back door!:cool1:

We are already planning laundry on embarkation day, as we will have been in europe for a week+ before we leave port!:woohoo:

FYI- I got my disney air information by calling, but they are not posting it until 22 days. My travel agent got me seats, but there aren't that many empty seats together left on the plane, so I'd call now and not wait until it is posted.

I'm not thrilled by the itinerary. Luftansa there and Iberia back. I have to change planes in Munich with only 55 minutes- does anyone know how big Munich airport is?

The Munich connection is to a shuttle that you can't reserve seats on in advance. I'm having my travel agent find out if they go every hour, or if I'm screwed if a I miss the connection.

The Iberia flight back has a stop, but no plane change.

Just an update- I called Disney with my concerns about the flight, and they switched me to a non-stop, instead of a connection. Good work, Disney!

Well, I've been a little out of the loop, but I'm back. We're still headed out on June 23 to London then fly into Barcelona on the 27th. We booked excursions, but since we couldn't get all we wanted are trying to arrange a few private tours. We could only get Palo on the first night, better than not getting it at all!!!! We are all getting so excited. See you on the boat!
