June 25 - 28, 2009 Wonder, Early Role Call!

Well, we did end up canceling the cruise. I think we'll try for a longer one in the near future. With ds going to college and not knowing about his summer schedule, it will be easier this year.

I hope you all enjoy the cruise!!!

:sad1: I'll miss getting to meet you, musicgirl! Good luck and congrats!

Hi everyone!

We had reservations on the four night cruise on September 20th, but DD informed us last week our second grandchild was due to arrive SEPTEMBER 17th!!! So, of course we cancelled the cruise. DH was so upset, he INSISTED we book another one, so this one worked out well for us.

Our group will include me (50), DH (52) and DGD (8).

Does anyone have any interest in doing the fish extenders? DGD did this last time and had a blast!

See you soon.

Welcome aboard! ;) DS will be 6 1/2 on the cruise, but he looks about 8, so maybe your DGD might enjoy playing with him. We did FEs on our last cruise and he really enjoyed it to, so I'm in if we can get a few more folks to join up.

Will you just be cruising, or stopping by the World before or after?

Hi Bobbi,
We are visiting the World before the cruise. The plan now is to arrive on June 19th. We are vacation club members, but we are out of points :sad1: so we are planning to stay at Port Orleans French Quarter.

I really hope the fish extender works out. Our granddaughter loved delivering the gifts. When we told her about the cruise this weekend, the first thing she asked about was if she could help give the presents!

Just a few more months!

Tammy

Well folks, times are tough! We may be ditching this vacation :sad1: My husband's company has issued company wide week long furloughs and there's talk they'll do it again this summer. It just doesn't seem prudent right now to blow a bundle on a vacation, no matter how badly needed! We'll probably reach a decision within the next week. We may cancel or change dates until next year. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Bobbi,

I am so sorry for you and your family. I know how important vacations are, but with the economy like it is right now decisions like this are becoming much more common. I do hope it works out for you.

Tammy

and we still have not made a decision! We are doing taxes this week, and that will decide it for us. The good news is while we've been dragging our heels, USA Today stock has begun to rebound! Even if there are more furloughs this summer, the end could be near, and that might prompt us to go ahead and splurge. Let's keep fingers and toes crossed that the numbers work out... :goodvibes

For all who remain, I hope you have a wonderful time. Unfotunately, we will not be joining you :sad1: We're officially cancelled. Three weeks of furlough for FY 09 will be eating up all of our vacation dollars :scared:

Have a Konch Kooler for me!

Hi Everyone,

Bobbi - I am so sorry you will not be able to come! :sad2: For those that are still planning to be onboard, is anyone interested in doing the fish extenders? My granddaughter is REALLY hoping to do this again.

Tammy

Hello All
We will be joining you on this cruise. We have 2 cabins on deck 6. We are cruising with our DD, SIL and our 10 month old grandson. This will be our first Disney Cruise. We figured now that we have a grandchild and he has already been to the World...it's time to check out the ships. We live just down the road from the World.

Hey Ya'll
Just found this thread. We - me(43), DH (49), DS (12) & DS's friend (12) will be on this cruise. We will be celebrating our 26th anniversary. This will be our first Disney cruise. We have 2 older DDs - ages 24 ( she's married) and 18. Neither could join us because of work and school- bummer. I teach middle school my husband works for Duke Energy. We have an cat 12 gty room, so I'm hoping for a nice upgrade. We are currently contemplating on whether or not to come down to Orlando for one or two days before the cruise.

I think that most everyone who originally posted on this thread have had to cancel...so it's just us.

Hi All

DW (29) DS (14) myself (old enough)

Haven't had chance to read through thread yet but I am sure DW will

See you all soon:banana:

Been waiting for others to join the thread. Welcome. Sad that so many of the original posters have had to cancel. Looking forward to June 25!

Hi Everyone,

We are still going. It seemed like once we joined, everyone started dropping off. :confused3:confused3:confused3

Anyway, it will be me (50) DH (52) and DGD (8) on this cruise. It is our second Disney cruise, actually second cruise period. We absolutely love cruising with Disney! :cheer2:

I did not have any luck with the fish extenders with the first group, but if anyone in the new group would like to do the FE, just let me know. Our granddaughter did this on the last cruise and loved it!

Just under six weeks to go!

Tammy

We've thought about it. We most likely will just stay onboard that day. It's pretty expensive. We have decided to stay two nights @ WDW pre-cruise - so we will spend the money to take the boys to DHS on the 24th. One day tickets are $80 each so there goes our excursion money.

DH (27) and myself (27) are really looking forward to summer vacation. I have never been on a cruise. DH has been cruising but never with Disney - We cannot wait. I teach kindergarten :teacher:and cannot wait for summer to begin. I have two countdowns - 20 (School) days until then end of school and then the countdown for DISNEY! :cheer2:

We booked a room at the Comfort Inn and Suites last week. I found a 48 hour sale with Expedia and got a great rate! There will be three of us in the "room." Are you booking a room there too?

Tammy

We were thinking about booking but it just seems so expensive for a day at the waterpark May I inquire as to the rate you got through Expedia, I will keep looking for a bettr rate

John
