June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

Hi there

We booked this cruise on the Magic last week. When I booked it I knew this had to be a fun cruise because all the oceanview rooms were gone!

We are cat 10 on deck 9. I have not unpacked, so I can't tell you our stateroom #, but we are on the back of the boat.

Our group is: Me (Tiffany), DH (Doug), DS (Grady - 11 at time of cruise, but will turn 12 June 28) and DD (Megan - 9 on cruise)

We booked with friends, but I'll let her post about her family.

Well - I'm off to tackle the mountain of and catch up on 400+ emails.

Nick will be 15, but told me he does not want to hang in the teen club, more so if Drew won't be there.

They'll probably just become a roving pack of boys without a club.

How close will Drew be to his 14th birthday, and will DCL let him move up? I know they used to do it for the lab and the club if they were within a month, maybe two. At any rate, I don't picture Zack hanging out in the teen club all that much either.

He'll turn 14 on August 30, so maybe. I thought it was within 30 days. If so, he won't make it. He's a pretty mature kid, so I don't see him loving the 11-13 option.

Ditto to what they said. Jakob (15) will want to visit the teen area for the videos, but will want to hang with Drew. Jakob won't be old enough to want to chase girls yet. (Oh, Please!) I'm thinking Drew'll be close enough that they'll make an exception. Particularly with a built in group. <fingers crossed>

Hey M - tell Steve that Jakob's finally getting around to working on that Personal Fitness badge he started visiting your troop. George is making him do it for 8th grade PE.

Drew still hasn't finished the badge. He's done all the work, just been too lazy to document.

Hi Tiffany ! Welcome aboard. How far are you from North Myrtle Beach ? We are having a mini-meet on June 11. 2011 at Dicks last resort. Coming back from vacation is the worst. Don't feel rushed to get everything done at once.

haha Yeah, but we always end up planning trips that aren't at the "right" time. Looks like we're gonna be there too early for the new Ariel ride. That figures. LOL

I have DSs who will be 12 and almost 14. I think DS(then)13 is going to be annoyed by being locked out of the teen club because most of his friends from the Repo will be 14+. I need to help him find some 13-year-old friends this time!

well our son will be 14.
BUT it will be the last cruise that eldest DD can hang in the teen group and she's not fond of the idea of her little brother in there with her. I'm not sure what we're going to do yet. BUT I know on one cruise where eldest dd was 14 and I wasn't fond of her being in the teen stack- come to find out later that an awful lot of 14yr olds moved DOWN out of the teen stack. had I known I had that option I'd have done the same with my eldest dd. LOL
With that said- if that happens on this cruise... I'll do the same with my son and probably won't get argument from him about it. I mean if all the boys his age/around his age are moving down (or I guess in this case up techncially. haha down in age group, up in stack for Edge LOL) then he probably will want to also. He just wouldn't want to be in Edge if it's a ton of 11-12yr olds is all. Yanno? I mean he'll wanna be wherever there are boys his age.... so if the majority of them move down to Edge age group- he'll want to also. He'll want to be where "the boys are" He's interested in hanging around boys around his age that have same likes/enjoy the same activities and such. THAT'S what he's looking for while on a cruise.... other boys to have fun with.

It is rough when previous cruises they make friends in the same age group and then a future cruise they are no longer in the same age group (same for friends/relatives that they obviously already have a relationship with but when cruising together aren't in the same age group).

We just got home from the Wonder 2 day Cruise to Nowhere, with our friends
our4Fosterkids, and other dissers....Had to take advantage of the rebooking discount, and of course we desiced to join the Pirates again. Had so much fun on the EBPC with you guys and can not wait to do it again.

Can I put a suggestion in for any photo sharing site this time...? Can it be a bit easier to use, such as Shutterfly... There are spots for discussions and other things too. I had a heck of a time this the other site.
