June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

Woo Hoo!! I just counted 10 more weeks of school so, multiple things to look forward to.

Our guys go unitl June 14th, so I guess that means about 13 more weeks for them. They'll really be ready for vacation!

I think I figured out our FE gifts. Going to play around tomorrow to try some things before I commit to it.

we get out on MOnday June 18th! BOY WILL I BE READY FOR A VACATION!

We're skipping the last two days of school (June 18-19) - both half-days. Who schedules the last two days of school on a Monday/Tuesday and for one half day and one for 2 hours and expects that students will not try and start their vacation early???:confused3

My school has the same schedule as yours. Of course, the 19th is our revised last day after 4 snow days (3 of which were in October ). I wish I could skip the last two days, but I'm the teacher!

Just wondering if anyone knows where all the Disney ships are sailing out of now, we know the Dream and the Fantasy are in port canaveral... Mike

A) The Dream will stay in PC and continue to do 3/4/5 Bahama itineraries
B) The Fantasy on 3/31 will be doing East/West 7 Day Caribbean cruises out of PC
C) The Wonder will continue to do MR 7 day cruises out of LA and then in the summer move up to Seattle/Vancover to do 7 day Alaska itineries. The Wonder will move back to LA in the fall for some MR cruises and at the end of the year she will move to Miami.
D) The Magic will do some 7 day Caribbean's and some Bahamain itineries out of PC and then move up to NY for the summer to do 8 day Bahama and 5 day Canada itineries. Then in the fall move to TX to do 7 day Western Caribbean itineries.

Yikes, that sounds like babysitting to me! Trust me, their teachers won't mind! :goodvibes

We get out June 1, so lots of time to pack and prep!

OK, friends, I am trying to catch up on all this reading, but wow! :scared1:

As I read back through the last 190 pages of posts, I feel like I am getting to know you all, so wanted to introduce myself better.

We are 5 confirmed Disneyholics, drinking the kool-aid happily. We live in Texas, but travel to both coasts at least once a year (my family lives in California, and Mickey lives in Florida). We have been DVC members for 6 years with many magical memories!

We cruised first in 2008 for DH's 40th bday/Christmas and got HOOKED! We would love to cruise as often as some of you do, but the traveling we already do tends to limit the cruise budget a bit, so we are shooting for every 2 years. Our 2nd cruise was in 2010 and we loved 7 nights! SO looking forward to this next one, but still feel like novices in many ways - we have not done a lot of excursions, and we've been on a different ship each time. I learn from all of you every time I visit the Disboards!

We have not decided on excursions yet, but I guess we had better get on that since our 90 day mark approaches (we are PIF now!:thumbsup2). We know we want to do snorkeling with the kids - any recommendations for good tours? We are planning to buy our own masks, etc - the girls always have trouble with the rental masks not fitting well. We'd like to do something "adventurous" too -like a zipline or a cave exploration??? We've surfed the DCL website, but I like personal reviews and insider secrets! ;)

Our kids LOVE the Disney ships - the two older ones were in the Edge last time and we barely saw them. We had a whiteboard in our room (thank you, DIS) so they could let us know where they would be, and that worked really well. They made tons of friends and had a blast. Our youngest was just 9 at the time, and went to the Lab some, but didn't enjoy it as much by herself - she was good about checking the Navigator and going for certain activities, but spent a lot of time with me and DH. This time both DDs will be in Edge, and DS will be in Vibe, so they're very excited!

Looking forward to catching up, getting to know you all, and getting involved in meets and stuff. Last time we did a stateroom tour - is there one planned yet? We had a DISer staying in the Roy O. Disney suite - it was really cool to get to see that! :thumbsup2

Alright, back to reality - school starts again tomorrow...guess I have to go, since I'm the teacher! :rolleyes1

Our last day is May 25th at 11am. A week at camp then a week at the beach and then a week to prepare for this cruise.

I signed up on the fish extender list but when I go to access the list it takes me to google documents and tells me I do not have permission to access the document. Anyone with any suggestions.

I don't know about you but I was not that happy when the state legislatures decided no more waivers would be issued for "early starts". I loved getting out before most of the rest of the country. We booked it for WDW the second school ended and now, by the time we get out, a lot of other schools are as well.

I have a 12 yo DD and some on the FB page are talking about their kids friending each other on FB so they can get to know each other before the cruise. Yell over on our FB page if you are interested.

All orders will need to be placed on the Facebook page. There is a thread over there where you can indicate your interest.

Pricing of $12 per shirt requires a minimum of 100 shirts orders. I think we are right around 50 now.

Shipping will most likely be via USPS Priority Flat Rate box, which is about $11. Several shirts can be stuffed in 1 box.

We have a personal source who is willing to print the shirts for us. Because of the design that is used, most printers will shy away from printing because of perceived copyright issues. You will not be able to upload this image to Zazzle or Cafe Press or any of those types because they most likely will not print it.

The matching shirts were so fun last time! It was a hoot when everyone realized we were all the same drop. That's a great price too.
