June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

:thumbsup2same here
My DD Kelly wanted to Parasail at CC so that was the only excursion I felt I had to have:confused3

I said something to Darren about maybe just staying on the ship and he insisted he wants to at least get off in the ports:3dglasses

I was able to do the online checkin at around 5:30 am:woohoo:
How strict are they about the port arrival time now?
I know they open the port now later than they used to, but not sure if they make you stick with the port arrival time that you get at checkin:confused3

In Dec. they let everyone into the terminal at whatever time they arrived starting at 11:00am. The ones with later time slots got later boarding numbers. We parked in the deck at 9:30am and were the 1st in line. We could not give our luggage to the porter until about 10:45am. The couple behind us in line had driven down from up north and arrived on Sat.instead of Sun. when the cruise started. They had a port time of 1:00pm and even though they were the second family in the terminal they were given a boarding number 6 while we got 3.

Totally forgot about port arrival times and wasn't in any hurry to complete the online check in. After reading here I realized I needed to get it done. Got the 11am arrival time even though I have no idea what my pre-cruise plans are yet. I might end up on DCL transfers in which case it won't matter, but if not, at least I've got the earliest arrival time.

If you do DCL transfer from a WDW resort, what time would you expect to arrive at the port? Does it depend upon the resort?

So if you have an 11am port time, but get there later, do they still give you an early boarding number?

The DCL busses pick up at the resorts from 11:30am to 12:30pm depending on the resort. Therefore you would not get to the port until after 1pm therefore a boarding number is mute. By then boarding is open to all.

So if you have an 11am port time, but get there later, do they still give you an early boarding number?

Many reports on this scenario say yes if you arrive at the port before your arrival time the CM can give you a later boarding number. Therefore someone who arrived after you could be boarding before you. The exact boarding number you get will depend on the CM.

I did the online check-in around 3:00pm today and still got the 11am port time. I think we're going to stay at the Radisson at the port, so we should be able to get there pretty early. I've heard pretty good things about the boarding process, so even if we do get there later, I don't think it'll be that big of a deal.

:thumbsup2Thanks

Boarding number 6 is not bad given how fast they call the numbers.

Can't wait to get there:woohoo::banana:

Hello all, my family is booked on this cruise as well, June 23, 2012 on the Fantasy! We are very excited! It's my DH and I, and our DD, she is 8 years old. Anyone else with an 8 year old daughter!?

This is our 2nd Disney Cruise, our first was March 2011 on the Dream and we loved it! Looking forward to SEVEN days!

Has anyone done Dolphinaris in Cozumel? Or the Grand Cayman Island tour? We are thinking about both of these, as well as the Turtle Farm and 7 mile beach after the Grand Cayman Island tour. What to do in Costa Maya? I saw there was a pool near the Port, not sure about it though! We at least want to get off the boat!

March 25th is the Silver day to check in and book excursions, looking forward to it!

This will be our first Western cruise, so I can't answer your questions about excursions, but I just wanted to say Welcome!

We also have an 8 year old daughter. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to get them e-mailing each other.

Joann

Joann....Cool! I'm so new to this board,I have no idea how to PM someone! I didn't even know we could PM, and I have no iea where to check it!! hahahaha That would be neat if they emailed and then maybe met in the Kid's Club?! Can I put my email address here? I'll try! jandklutzyk@cfl.rr.com

Our DD is an only child and shy, so the Kid's Club was kind of tough for her on the Dream last March.

They didn't get on until after 2pm.

umm, I'm confused. They were second family into the terminal, got boarding number 6 and weren't allowed to board until after 2 pm:confused3

Just when I thought I had calmed down about boarding times:laughing:

Now I'm anxious again:rolleyes:

When we had boarding number 4 last summer we were boarding the ship at about 12:15. I'm hoping this summer goes as fast (fingers crossed).

This is my first Western itinerary too so can't help with excursion advice.

That's great Chrissy:thumbsup2
Really loved those name tags last time. So hard to connect Dis names and real names some times:rolleyes:
Thanks so much for doing this again:goodvibes:thumbsup2

I did on-line check in and I don't see boarding numbers! :confused3

Tina we get to pick port arrival times now, but get the boarding numbers when we get to the port. I think, since they moved the port opening time back to 11 am, the earliest port arrival time available is/was 11 am.
