June 15, 2012 - 2 Night Getaway on the Disney Magic from NYC!

I'm going on the July 13th cruise! I got a message from DVC Guide, Steve Tinn, that there will be a DVC Member Meet on Saturday.

I was just curious if this happened on the June cruise and if so, did anyone here attend. I would love to know more about it.

Did they show Brave on this cruise?

I saw something about a DVC meet at Studio Sea but since I'm not a member I'm not 100% sure.

No, they didn't show Brave. It wasn't released until the following week.

This July 13th cruise is not only my fiance's and my first cruise BUT it is also our first use of our DVC membership!!! Soo excited!:thumbsup2

I'll be taking a cab to the Port of New York. Does anyone know if I just tell the cab driver to take me to Port of New York? Do I also have to tell him/her the Pier number? If I do, does anyone remember the Pier number?

tell him you are going to the Intrepid Musuem, once near the area, you want to be at pier 88. They weren't letting private vehicles come into the lower area when I disembarked on June 17. You can be dropped off on the upper level, take the elevator down to give them your luggage, then go BACK UP to check in. The NY folks are not used to the DCL way of doing things and were asking for printed verification of the cruise - so print the doc or take the book. Otherwise you end up waiting in line twice.

Enjoy yourself!!

We are sailing from NYC tomorrow! Does anyone here recall what time the port opens to incoming passengers?
We have a choice of trains we could take but I don't want to get there too early.

we got there at 10:30 and there were already a lot of people there...so I'm sure it had been opened for a while

boarding starts at about 11am - no point in getting there much earlier than 10am. Platinum/concierge and B2B board first, then by time (you picked an arrival time when you checked in online)

Enjoy your cruise!
