June 14, 2011 - Father's Day on the Wonder in ALASKA!

Good Sunday to all: Can't believe it has been so long since I've been here:scared1:

Things get crazy and sometimes the only time I have to look at the boards is during lunch at work. Not much time there. And for some reason, I've not gotten the email alerts that someone has posted. :confused3:confused3

I'm anxious about the excursions also. But more anxious that we may have to move our cruise date. :headache::headache: They are needed (?) to change my DH's work dates. He is trying hard to work it to his advantage. He knows when we are going, need to leave, and when we should return. So keep your fingers crossed. I don't want to change:goodvibes:goodvibes

Once I know for sure that we aren't changing dates, I'll start to look at airfare. We have frequent flyer miles and I'm really hoping to be able to use them.

Drew: did you get to see LSU play yesterday??? Soooooooooooooo happy about the win :banana::cool1::cool1::love::love::dance3::dance3:
It has been an interesting year to say the least. Saw Tony Pike play today as the Saints beat Carolina. He looked pretty good.

So, who is in on FE's??? I've got the list going on who has joined the thread and can add a FE participation mark to it. Just let me know.

Have great weeks. Maybe I'll get back here before the week is out.

Hi, Janie...welcome back! If you go into your "User CP", you can set your notification preferences. Go down to the "List Subscriptions" link on the left column, and you can set all of your threads as to what notifications you want. :thumbsup2

HOPEFULLY you won't have to change dates...it's been fun chatting back and forth, and we have been looking forward to meeting you! We will keep our eyes glued to the computer.... :surfweb:

I did get to see much of the fourth quarter of the game...go Bayou Bengals! I was a LITTLE torn, as I'm an Alabama fan (at least when they play Auburn), but I did find myself rooting for the Tigers Saturday. My son was STOKED. I didn't get a chance to see Tony Pike play...will have to look up the stats later on.

We're definitely in for the FE. Please mark us down!

My guys did Out and About on the Magic over the summer - it was for 10-14s so I hope that's what it will be on the Wonder next summer. It is an awesome program - I told them how much I liked that addition. Our older son was more involved with programming on that trip than any previous ones. Of course they both loved Ocean Quest and we will miss having that option for them on the Wonder, but then maybe they'll both try Aloft.

We were on the Wonder in April and they did have the "Out and About" program then. DD wasn't really interested in trying it out, though, so I can't comment on what it was like, but they definitely have added it to the Wonder.

Headed to Alaska with Ward3. me::MinnieMo:DD(10) :cheer2: and maybe DD (20):tink: also from Ky. Want to do FE. Celebrating DD 10th :bday:

Congratulations, fellow cruisers! By my calcuations, we have hit the

200

day mark!

I hope each of you had a fantastic Thanksgiving!

--Drew

Welcome butler3! We have lots of bdays & other celebrations on board. My youngest DS will turn 11 during the cruise.

I want excursions announced! Kids decided that parent/Santa gifts would be excursions. It would be nice to know which ones will exist. Kids will still get gifts from grandparents, & a 2 -3 other relatives.

Life is so busy w/ bball season & the holidays. I really want time over holiday break to do some hard core planning. DCL is you are listening:

We want excursions announced!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend. We went up the to the Kalahari in the Dells to enjoy their buffet & have some family time away from it all. Our weekends for the next 2 months are booked solid w/ bball & scouts.

Liam is officially doing the boy scout SeaBase High Adventure next summer. Lucky child!

Hello again, fellow cruisers!

Congratulations are in order. Exactly six months from today, we will be SAILING! Woo hoo!!!!!

We hope everyone is well and enjoying the winter season. Should you be celebrating a holiday this month (or have already done so), our best to you and yours this season!

As for me: (singing) All I want for Christmas is an excursion list...an excursion list...oh, an excursion list.... :rotfl2:

:rotfl:Me, too. All this waiting is killing me!

They did announce an ABD cruise add-on today for Vancouver & Whistler, plus one for the cruise that includes a full-set of excursions. I saw prices on the DCL board -- something over $2K per person! But if you look at it, you can see the beginnings of some the excursion choices that we (hopefully) will have.

Here's hoping a real list comes out soon...:flower3:

:lmao: :rotfl:

I'm w/ you. Whenever people ask what my kids want for Christmas I say w/ a booming voice:

"We're giving them ALASKA!"

Or at least cruise there w/ hopefully some awesome excursions. DCL are you listening you're messing up my Christmas. I wanted to leave certificates for which excursions we'd be taking under the tree.

Only 2 more days until break. Kids are driving me crazy. Everyone wants something from me by Friday!!!

I can pretty much guarantee they'll never get a BIGGER present, wouldn't you say? :lmao:

Yikes! Well, hopefully the time away from classroom will be less stressful. :goodvibes

FYI, Matthew turned in his application for the University of Cincinnati already. With a 3.0 GPA and a 26 on his ACT, he should hopefully pass muster.

Hope all is well with Scott and the kids! :grouphug:

Happy Holidays to all!

I just saw a link in this thread on the main board about the ALASKA EXCURSIONS. While it isn't the full list w/prices, it does appear that some info is beginning to leak out!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2616541

The article says the excursions will be available "after January 1, 2011". Hopefully, not too long afterwards.... :surfweb:

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!!!

Guess what, y'all?

PORT ADVENTURES ARE NOW UP!!!!!

I just came over here to post the same thing, but I see you beat me to it! :goodvibes I'm just so happy that they are finally out and I can start thinking about what we want to do. There are so many to look through, too. I just spent the last hour making a "short list" of what looked good and my DH laughed when he saw that it was 2 pages long. :rotfl: Hope everyone has a fun time perusing the excursions!

Happy New Year to all :cheer2::cheer2:

Yep, I'm also glad that the excursions are up. It makes it seem more real. That and the fact that the final payment is due in February :scared1::scared1:.

I've seen several excursions that look great. I hope to be able to study them more when we return home. We are actually at Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort now. My DH and some family members that came with us have been playing golf each day. They've had to postpone their tee time each morning because of frosty greens :lmao::lmao:! It was snowing when we arrived on Sunday evening.

Any how, I hope to study the offerings for excursions when I get back home and can play around with them on my desk top, not my laptop. :surfweb:

And yes, we will be sailing with all of you as originally planned :woohoo::woohoo:. DH got his work schedule fixed like he wanted. I'm glad. Sure would have hated to have to leave this great group.

Glad to hear you're still able to sail with us, Janie! :cool1:

Hope y'all are having fun at the resort. Trust me, I understand the chill. We have only had 3 days in December break the 40 degree mark thus far. Lookin' forward to a balmy 53 on NYE! :rotfl2:

DCL went all out on the possibilities for the excursions. Far far more possibilities than when I sailed with HAL in 2006. We're looking forward to finalizing our selections when Matthew is here next weekend.

Have a safe and enjoyable New Year's!!!

--Drew

The excursions are overwhelming at first glance, but I'm so glad they're up. I'm visiting my parents in MN this weekend and will go through the options with them to try to get a game plan and figure our how many Disney Reward $$ we have banked to pay for them!
We'd all love to be part of the fish extenders group.
Happy new year!

Okay, everyone...now that we're down to less than six months to go, I guess it's time to put together a FE list. I'll be happy to organize it.

If you wish to participate, please send me a PM with the following information:

Names of everyone in your party with ages (you can just put an "A" for adult if you so desire).
Please include gender of the children. It's hard to tell anymore if "Taylor" is a boy or a girl...hehe.
Hometown
Stateroom number (note: this will NOT be posted for public viewing)
E-mail address. When we get closer, I will e-mail a spreadsheet to everyone with the stateroom numbers included therein.

Example:
Drew (A) and Matthew (Male, 18)
Cincinnati, Ohio
Stateroom XXXX
e-mail address

I will post periodic updates to the first post of the thread, so it will be easy for all to find (and verify that I've received your info). Tentative deadline will be 4/15/11 (in order for people to coordinate their gifts).

We're looking forward to having some fun!!!

--Drew

P.S. A reminder: in order to send a PM, you need to have a minimum of ten (10) posts on DisBoards. So, for those of you who haven't met the threshhold yet, time to get busy!!! :cool1:

Hey Drew, sent you a pm about fe's. if you don't get it let me know. there was a message, I think, about 'Service Unavailable'. :confused3:confused3
