3) We are leaving from San Jose at 6:40am on TUESDAY! - thinking we get the award for "last to leave on vacation":)

4) Although we are not on the FE list, hopefully we can still have name tags and we will not be ostracized by all you FEer's........our names are Tom, Alisa, David, and Katie Tomlinson

Can't wait to see you all onboard!

I will gladly yield the title of "last leaving"...LOL :rotfl2: I think you may have it "in the bag"!

Don't be silly!

On our 1st cruise I was overwhelmed by the whole FE thing, but was a major part of the group.

PM kde 175 about the name tag. Most importantly come to the DIS Meet & get to know everyone!

I just got back from CA & can't believe I've got to cross timezones again. My boys are so messed up on their sleep. We were up late hanging w/ the family in Santa Rosa & did a crash tour of San Fran before we flew home.

No more pre-cruise ER story telling like last night....I cursed myself.

I got a 2nd degree steam burn on my right forearm. I didn't realize how serious it was, until the blister grew & grew & grew.....eww!

You can wait to ask me how I could be so stupid when you meet me.

Just a reminder on how to recognize me. I'll be the one w/ the BIG bandage on her right forearm.

Everyone says it's healing well, but I wish it would heal faster. I don't want to further damage it ziplining on Monday in Whistler.

Don't count on buying any upgrades at port. The cruise looks packed. There was one inside room available on Deck 6 when I checked--nothing else.

Got checked in and printed boarding passes for tomorrow morning's flight. I was also able to adjust our seat assignments for the last leg coming home so we'll be two and two rather than three and one. Whenever I pick our seats, I always try to two and two on the side that has just two seats, but if it's a three and three situation, then we do three plus one across on the aisle. That's what we have for going from DFW to Vancouver tomorrow and as of late last night, the middle seat is empty on that side (hoping it stays that way). Our flights are mostly full - just a few empty seats.

We ended up with three big suitcases, all coming in under 45 lbs so we should be ok - we included a duffle bag for the return trip in case we needed it :)

DH is already thinking of the peel and eat shrimp for the welcome aboard lunch buffet. Nathan is thinking of the ice cream machine, and Zachary is ready for Pluto's. But I remind them that we have two full days of Vancouver to see first! Don't rush through the vacation!!

See y'all soon!

Last call for name tags!

I'm leaving for Vancouver waaayyy early in the morning. I have until about 4PM EST to get names and make name tags.

I got Irish Bear and disneymagic316. Is there anyone else?

I just wanted to agree with the others...FE or no FE, please come to the meet. I can't wait to meet you all!!!

Almost done packing - three big bags also plus the required extra duffle for the "stuff" :rotfl::rotfl:

We leave BR tomorrow at noon for our 3:00pm flight from New Orleans. Will be about 9:00 getting to Vancouver.

So looking forward to meeting everyone :banana:

I agree with the others, it is so much fun to see other folks that you "know" on the ship. I like sharing the adventures each has had during the day.

See ya real soon !!!!!!!!

I'm just happy to be able to say I AM DONE WITH WORK! Tomorrow the DCL work begins - finishing up FE gifts (seriously), door magnets and final shopping. Packing is for Sunday.

Safe travels everyone!

So excited. I couldn't sleep in. Everything is ready. Today is clean all day and finish the yard work. Our house sitter came last night and the cat goes to grandma's tomorrow. The house sitter doesnt like cats.

After church tomorrow, we will load the car and get nap in because we are leaving at midnight. Anyone going to have a layover in Chicago?

Anyone looked at cruise forecast?

I think my son and I might be one of the last to leave. We are in Knoxville until tomorrow afternoon (following his dive meet) and then heading home for less than 12 hours before we are off the the airport. We will be flying out to Seattle very early Monday morning and then driving to Vancouver Monday night. After three days of dive competitions with 6am warm ups, followed by long days of traveling, we will be ready for some extra sleep the first day at sea! My DH and daughters left this morning so they are already in vacation mode.

We are really excited about meeting everyone on Tuesday. It will be fun to put faces to all the names. We wish everyone a great couple of days and safe journeys. We'll see you Tuesday.

Amy

We made it to Victoria. Unfortunately, most of our luggage decided to show up much later than we did. See everyone on Tuesday. Weather is great.

Vancouver is beautiful. Fabulous day here. We did the trolley for sightseeing this morning. The hotel is beautiful. Right across from the port. Can't wait to see the Wonder come in Tuesday morning.

Whistler is amazing. Peak to Peak gondolas was an amazing experience. Whitewater rafter the Cheakamus River was beautiful. There were 4 bald eagles above us for last 10 min. Saw 5 black bears. ATVing in early am & then ziplining before we head to Vancouver. Might stop at Brandywine Falls State Park on the way. Rumor has it that Vancouver will be packed w/ people for hockey game which starts at 5:00. See some of you tomorow night.

We got to meet half of LSUTigger last night and then DVCMary and family tonight plus Jennifer whose screen name I have now blanked on plus her DH and adorable children. Looking fwd to seeing everyone on board.

Hey Irish... Are you on your way????

I created a group for us on flikr. Once you log in ther go to "Alaska Wonder Fathers Day" and ask for permission to join. I'll let all disboard members from our cruise on automatically. Let me know if you want to help managed the group.

We are still in Vancouver waiting on our flight so I have not uploaded any pictures.

Well we wish we could have taken Christian up on his suggestion to ask the captain to turn the ship around. After racing off the ship to Seattle for a 2:00 Southwest flight, our flight was diverted to St. Louis (instead of landing in Chicago) due to storms in the Chicago area. Once we re-fueled and finally got to Chicago, we discovered that we had missed our connection home and that there were no hotels available anywhere in the area. We had to spend the night on cots in the terminal and got no sleep. Additionally our son developed a cold which flared up his asthma so he spent the night miserable. We finally made it home late this morning, exhausted from the trip but happy to have been to Alaska. We really enjoyed meeting all of you and hope to hook up with you on future sailings. We are already thinking about Alaska again next year 8/6 sailing with some friends of ours. Let us know if any of you decide on that sailing. We will look into posting some of our photos onto Flicker as well. We hope everyone has safe journeys home.

Amy, Bruce and family:)

We're home, unpacked and about 1/2 done with the laundry. Glad to say it all came back dirty, so I wasn't spending unnecessary laundry room time. I am sorry we missed the meet on Tuesday. Time got away from me that afternoon. We so enjoyed all the great FE gifts and want to thank you all for making if such fun to come back to the room. This was the first FE experience for my family and they loved it.
