June 14, 2011 - Father's Day on the Wonder in ALASKA!

Drew, We have 2 staterooms, but only one FE so we'll use that on the room w/ the verandah. Can't remember #, but I'll get back to you.

Are there any boys around 10 or 11 on the boat?? I'm trying to find DS Patrick who turns 11 on the cruise, a buddy. It looks like the teens will have plenty of company.

Hi Everyone,

Well, it isn't official yet, but I am pretty positive I will be cruising with you! I'm a teacher and have been waiting to try to get through the winter months to make sure there are no snow days. Seeing as we have 10 days left of school before spring break and these 10 days look snow day free, we have a rooms on hold and will pay tomorrow!!!!

When it is official we would LOVE to join the FE. We did one before and had a blast.

Anyway, my party is actually 2 groups. Room 1 is my DH-Eric and myself (Stephanie). Room 2 will be my cousins Jenny, John, and Mia (7). They are from West Dundee, IL, and I currently live in Arlington Heights, IL. My husband is in Apopka, FL. Yes, we are currently living apart and are using this as our back together trip. He will move up to IL in August.

So looks like we are going to book 2 11c rooms. Did anyone else do this? Has anyone booked a GTY room and received a room number? I know it is WAY early, but just thought I would ask.

I saw a bunch of people from our area are cruising with us so that is exciting. I guess us in the Chicagoland area just can't get enough of cold weather and snow. :rotfl2:

As soon as I know more, I'll post. Hopefully tomorrow night you'll have a message from me saying that we are for sure in!

Hi, Kim...I think I understand what you mean, but I just want to make sure (before I change the lists). Your family will have three staterooms participating:

1) with you, Todd, Savannah, and Carter. Will that FE be at your room, or Savannah & Carter's?
2) one for your parents, and
3) one for your brother and family

I just want to make sure that I'm crossing off the correct stateroom number that you sent in the PM. :thumbsup2

Thanks again!
--Drew

yep - you got it right! The FE will be outside of my room

Kim

We are officially booked and will be joining you! :cool1: Woo hoo!!!

Congrats, SteffyLou, and welcome to the gang!

If you are still interested in participating in the FE, please send me a PM with your stateroom number(s). Question: Will there be one FE for your stateroom, or one at each stateroom?

Also, if you want the Excel version of the spreadsheet (which I will be sending to participants in mid-April, please include in your PM an e-mail address where I will be able to send it.

From what I can tell, your previous post has all of the information that I would need to add to the list.

Again, welcome aboard!

We are trying to figure out which night to book Palo. Any recommendations? It's so hard because we don't want to miss the best shows or anything spectacular in the mdr. What are others doing and why?

Alisa, we booked for night 3 at Palo. Based on all of the information that we have seen (which basically makes it a hunch), night 3 is going to be a rotational menu evening. Since we've sailed numerous times in the past, but only twice on seven night sailings, we didn't want to miss the "special menus" (i.e. Captain's Gala, 'Til We Meet Again, etc.). We're hoping that all of the info we've seen thus far is correct... :confused3

Hello fellow NW Suburbanite! We live in Schaumburg & I :teacher: in Crystal Lake. When do you get out of school? We get out on June 3rd including our 2 snow makeup days & last day meetings. I teach h.s. What do you teach?? There are always a lot of teachers on June cruises. :lmao: :rotfl: Congrats on booking your special trip!

Hi, Sheila...and welcome to the gang! Will be looking forward to your PM. I will add you to the list at the beginning of the thread in the interim. One question: Is Payton a "male" Payton or a "female" Payton? This is just in case anyone in the FE wants to by a gender specific item. :)

Thanks!

Okay, all...time to start singing!!! :cool1:

:dance3:

99 days until cruise on the wall,
99 days until cruise...!!!

:rotfl2:

Welcome Sheila! (Love the name!)

"98 days 'til we cruise"

Cars 2 is being released the week after we cruise on the 24th. I was hoping it would be our week. We were on the Magic for the 1st Cars premiere & it was very cool to see all the special things they did.

I teach in Des Plaines and get out June 10 (was June 8). Jenny and John teach in Hoffman Estates and I think they get out around June 3. Eric teaches in FL and also gets out on June 10. So we have a handful of teachers to say the least!

We had to wait to book because of my school district. I was worried we would get another snow day but I am pretty confident we are okay now.

Hi! I just wanted to give you a quick recap (to date) of the participation list for the FE "gang". :thumbsup2 As of this moment, we have 20 staterooms participating!!!

As always, the detailed list of participants may be found in the first post on this thread. However, to date we have 40 adults participating, 10 boys (ages ranging from 1 to 16) and 15 girls (ages between 7 and 17).

The following 9 states have participants: CA, FL, IL, KY, LA, MN, OH, PA, and TX (plus one or two "mystery guests"). For what it's worth.... :lmao:

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to give a little update. Our TA was able to get us another night at the Pacific Rim, so we'll be flying out to Vancouver on the 11th now. :cool1: That's great because the 12th is our annivarsary and I really didn't want to spend it on a plane. :)

I just love when I get to take two days off of the countdown at the same time!!

15 girls (ages between 7 and 17).

Hey Drew,

Looks like we a have a couple of "Emmas" joining us. My Emma is 4, so our age range for the girls is even wider, which should make shopping that much more "fun." :rotfl:

Ok, so we were able to book the Pan Pacific from Sunday 12-Tuesday 14. We are actually flying in on Saturday 11, but get in really late so are just going to stay at a less expensive hotel with a free shuttle near the airport that night.

It looks like we are going to book a private company to do whale watching in Juneau. Then we just have to figure out the other 2 stops and if we want to do Palo. Oh boy!

We have flights to Vancouver booked, but nothing home yet. So we are slowing but surely getting everything in order.

Absolutely correct, Tina...my apologies for skimming over Emma on the age range. :confused3

Payton is a female. Sorry about that! This is our first cruise trying to learn the ropes.
