Was hoping to do this date, but you stole my room:lmao:- actually can't book till the 28th . Luckily,The last 2 wks in June or any of the July dates, or even the 1st two wks in Aug will work for us but I really want a sph room. We had this room for our June Eastern on the Magic and loved it. Here's hoping there are some left for us lowly silver members

I truly hope you're able to get a SPH room. I agree with you...we had this room in 2007, and also have it for our B2B next June. I imagine the prices will go up as you get deeper into summer. Hopefully, DCL will have some "pixie dust" left for you next Monday...and maybe even for this sailing! :thumbsup2

Best of luck!

We are booked for the June 14, 2011 Alaska cruise. I did not realize it was Father's Day so that is kind of nice. We have two adjoining cabins booked category 9A's. Our group is 4 adults and a 14 year old daughter. Any other girl's that age going DD would love to get to know you before hand via email or FB. Send me private message.

We have sailed the inside passage before Summer of 2008 and are really glad to be going back to Alaska with Disney this time.

The prices are steep but I figure you get what you pay for.:thumbsup2

Can't wait to see who else will be sailing with us.popcorn::

Welcome to the gang! Glad to have you with us. As noted, we're a father and son (who'll be 18 at sailing). I consider these cruises as a Father's Day present! :cool1:

Looking forward to more joining us!!!

We are booked! Cabin 6116, party of four - two adults, two teens! One will celebrate his birthday onboard. I didn't realize it was Father's Day either - so woo-hoo -- double celebration! Guess my June gift-shopping is done!

Welcome aboard, Cindy! Yes, DH won't be able to say you don't "splurge", right? LOL

Really looking forward to our gang expanding and getting to know everyone over the next 20 (or so) months. :-)

A big warm welcome to all who have booked/are booking today! :grouphug:

We're glad to have you a part of our voyage! Please feel free to join the thread, subscribe, and get involved! :thumbsup2

Hello everyone!

I booked today. We SPLURGED big time for our 1st ever verandah. I got #7034 Cat. 5B $7,435.52 [no ins/trnfr] & OBB discount. We're normally a SPH family. Congrats to those who got them & good luck to anyone else still trying.

We'll be celebrating Father's Day & my youngest DS's 11th b-day at the end of the cruise. I'm also sailing w/ a teen who will be 14 then. I also picked June b/c I'm a :teacher: & when school gets out--I'm ready for vacation.

Orca viewing is supposed to be good in June--not guaranteed of course.

Does anyone know anything else about Alaskan cruises in June?

Any other boys in that age range 11 & 14, keep us in mind for future communication. My boys don't about this yet. We're not sure when we're going to tell them.

Cindy--How old are your teens? Boys? Girls?

Drew--We're happy to be sailing w/ you & your son again! Tortola was FUN!

Ok, I know it's soon....but we could start thinking of a name for our group. Let's see who else joins us after today's bookings. I'm exhausted from the stress of booking it. I originally could only get a GTY cat, but I tried online as if it were a new cruise & found available rooms. So, I just called them
(5 min. wait---SWEET) and I got an actual room assignment + saved almost $200.

We're so glad you're coming with us, Mary!!!! How're the boys doing? I was keeping my fingers crossed that maybe...just maybe...you were looking at this cruise. Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggety dog!!! :cool1:

We're gonna have so much fun!

I took a similar cruise with my mother and uncle on HAL in August 2006. Here's what I can tell you about our excursions then:

Juneau

We did the Mendenhall Glacier and Whale Watching tour. Seeing the glacier was impressive. We did get to view whales on that afternoon. Don't know about June though.

Skagway

We took the White Pass & Yukon Rail excursion. I highly recommend it. We took a buss up into the Yukon Territory, and then the train back down. Great excursion for history buffs, and the sights were incredible.

Ketchikan

We took a float plane up into the National Forest. This was one of my fondest memories of our cruise, as we landed on an isolated lake. We were permitted to get out of the plane on to the floats, and there we enjoyed the absolute quiet and peace of the surrounding countryside. A little pricey, but we had a blast.

Other

I don't know which stop it is, but they do have dogsledding excursions available on HAL. We're going to be saving our pennies, hoping that we can book this one. It's expensive as excursions go, but this is one of my "I'd like to do it before I die" items to cross off of my list.

:cool1:

DH (Tom) and I (Janie) are booked on this cruise. :cool1::cool1::cool1::banana:

We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary.:love:It is just the two of us - no kids, only the ones covered in fur :dogdance::dogdance:

Our last Disney cruise was the maiden voyage to Tortola in April 2009. We celebrated Tom's Big-50 birthday that trip.

We are in cabin 7070.

We really enjoyed getting to 'know' folks before we left home. It is always nice to have friends on the ship.

We have three trips to WDW planned between Thanksgiving and Halloween next year. Then the cruise :yay::yay:

Okay, does anyone know how many days until we sail???

Tom and Janie,

Welcome aboard! We're glad you'll be joining us. We had a blast on our June Tortola cruise...and are looking forward to the last frontier. I'm sure this will be a memorable cruise, celebrating the milestone anniversary! :thumbsup2

624 days to go until we set sail for Alaska. Until then, little milestones...like maybe a Cincinnati vs. LSU BCS National Championship, perhaps? :rotfl:

Again, glad you're joining us!

Welcome everyone! Our friends Sandy and David booked today, too - I have to get her invited over to join in the thread!

Our teens are both boys - Nathan who will start the cruise as a 14 y.o. just finishing 9th grade, and Zachary who will be 13 and just finishing 7th grade.

This will be our 6th DCL cruise - our 7th family-cruise (we're doing RCCL's Freedom of the Seas this fall), and my 8th cruise (I did a Carnival a few years ago with a group of lady-friends).

I have one of the Donald pictures as my background at work and a Mickey picture as my background at home from the DCL announcements!

Liam will be 13 & will have just graduated 8th grade.

Ooops! We'll have to celebrate that too. I'm sure he'd love to get to know your sons when we're getting closer to the cruise. Last cruise he hung out w/ someone from our DIS meet the whole cruise. This will be our 5th DCL. We have another surprise short cruise planned for my Mom next May--the boys don't know about that one either.

Patrick will turn 11 on the cruise & will have just finished 5th grade.

Janie--Welcome!! More celebrations! :yay:

Drew--Will Matthew have graduated h.s. by then or will he already be in college? Any college plans in the works??

Thanks for the excursion ideas. I have sooo much to learn & decided before this trip. :woohoo:

I've got to go write college rec.s for some of my students. :teacher:

Yes, it'll be yet another thing to celebrate. Matthew will have just graduated high school. He has pretty much decided on the University of Cincinnati...but his major (like most teens) seems to change weekly. When all is said and done, I envision him counseling youth...either as a teacher, a guidance counselor or a youth pastor.

To get him in the excitement for college, we've been going to the University of Cincinnati football games for the past couple of years...he really likes the atmosphere of college life (whew!). :cool1:

It sounds like we already have a growing group of teenage boys aboard. Aloft counselors beware!!! :rotfl2:

Welcome back aboard with us... it really is a small world!

I'm looking, like my dad mentioned, to go to UC (University of Cincinnati) and might major in teaching... preferably some form of history. That way I don't have to worry about grammar and spelling as much!;)

That's what I was thinking. So far my daughter (who will be 14) is the only teenage girl. That could be good or bad.:scared1:
