June 11-18, 2016 Disney Fantasy (Western Caribbean)

Sorry I am late to this thread. I just learned about FE and would love to join if there is still room!
This will be our 7th Disney cruise and I can't believe I never knew what those fish extenders were for!!

Is there a post that explains how the FE program works? Sorry for chiming in so late on this!

I'm sorry, Mpatel, but our group is now closed. Most people are putting their gifts together already and aren't able to add extras.

But for reference, a FE exchange is where people get together in a group, and each person leaves a gift for everyone else in the exchange. The gift is delivered sometime during the cruise. So a participant would go out once to deliver gifts, but receive some at their stateroom every day.

Anyone who has been on Disney cruise can you please let me know what the best dinner seating time is ? We are scheduled for late seating I have 10 yo almost 11 and a 6yo. I'm hoping that's a good timing for them to enjoy kids activities .

The 'best' time is based on what scheduling works for you. Both seating times will allow you to see the nightly shows. Both times will allow your kids to participate in the kids' activities. It's really up to you as a family: are you the kind of people who prefer to eat earlier, or later? If you're coming from a different time zone, you may also want to consider how that will impact your choice as well.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me understand the dinner attire. I know one day is formal night but i also read there is a semi-formal night. Is this correct?

My understanding is that the attire is as follows but I am not 100% sure.
Day 1 - Cruise Casual
Day 2 - Formal
Day 3 - Cruise Casual
Day 4 - Cruise Casual
Day 5 - Cruise Casual or Pirate
Day 6 - Semi Formal
Day 7 - Cruise Casual

Am I correct that it is optional for the formal or semi formal? I am not sure I have anything that remote qualifies for either for my son. :)

Hi
I know I'm super late and you guys probably closed the group but I put my name in it earlier and wanted to know if I was removed since I didn't respond. :( Got so caught up with work, family, end of the school year madness and completely forgot to check the thread.
I really wanted to participate for my kiddos. They are so excited about the trip and it's my daughters birthday on the 12th. So we wanted to make it extra special.
No gifts needed for the adults in my group.
Pretty please with mickey ears on top. ;)

We are going on our very first cruise EVER and we are SO excited that its a Disney Cruise! (It will be me, my DH and DS-8 years old.) My DS has been begging for this for years now and he has NO IDEA! We will be surprising him Christmas morning! :earboy2:

I really want to participate in the FE if anyone can tell me more about it! Also, we are traveling with 3 older adults and need some idea of what things they will be able to do on board!!!

This being our first cruise ever, any tips and suggestions are very welcome!

WHO ELSE IS WITH US??????

Ready to Set Sail!!! :mickeyjum:goofy::dumbo::donald::tigger:

Im going on this cruise as well! This will be my second cruise ever and my second time aboard the Fantasy. You are going to lOVE IT. I was only 13 my first time and it was the greatest week of my life. There are activities for everyone so I am sure your three adults will be entertained. One of my favorite places to be was the basketball court (in case any of you like athletics) There is also an indoor golf expirience i believe. I hope you enjoy your cruise and enjoy your first disney cruise as we both se sail!

This will be my first 7day cruise on Disney so I am not sure what people wear. The following information was taken from Disney's official website. Looks like it is optional.

7-night cruises:

  • First night is cruise casual—no swimwear or tank tops
  • One pirate night or other themed deck party
  • 3 additional cruise casual nights—no swimwear or tank tops
  • One formal and one semi-formal night—both give you the opportunity to dress up and take advantage of the onboard photography services. Though optional, we recommend dress pants with a jacket or a suit for men, and dress or pantsuit for women

Yes, CruisingGami, I sent out multiple notices over 2+weeks, and alerted people in this thread using the @ function, and there were still a number of people (including yourself) who did not respond. As a result, I added newer people to the list, and the list has now been closed. I am sorry, but unfortunately, I am not able to add further people at this point, as many participants in the exchange have already gotten their gifts together and are not able to make extras.

I understand. Thank you

A week from today we will be boarding! Just finished my fish extenders -- can't wait to give them out!
I would love to do a meet and greet, but this is my first everything (Disney Cruise and FE) so I am not sure how to organize that.

Hi everyone,
I'll be sailing this cruise and am looking for a family cabana. If you reserved one but think you'd like to cancel, please let me know. I'd love to book it.

Thanks,

I wouldn't mind doing a meet and great as well. But I'm with you it's our first time doing FEs so I'm not sure how we go about it either.

Thank you all for the great gifts! The kids loved finding little surprises every day. Hope you all had as much fun as we did!

We had a great time participating and enjoyed all the gifts. Thank you to everyone. Hope to see you all on another cruise soon!
