See? Every cloud had a silver lining! Nifty update - looking forward to seeing how the rest of the trip goes down.

This trip was definately about silver linings. We were so blessed, I just couldn't imagine it having been any better!

November 22 Day 2 Part 1


Today we are heading to AK for the day, dinner @ 4pm at Yak and Yeti then to MK to end our day. Everyone was tired this morning so we slept in a bit. By the time we got to AK we decided and early lunch is what we needed. We stopped at Pizzafari and ate….yes pizza except DH who had and Italian sandwich. For this kind of food it was pretty decent. Much better than the Toy Story Pizza.

We headed to Dinosaur.

I am not sure how clearly you can make out this picture, but the back row is all us and then I and DS 13 are third row right. Am I the only one who see’s a couple of heads missing?

This is when we went to eat. DS 13 took the camera and all of a sudden I have about 100 pictures of ducks!

You get the point.

Up next the Safari…. We make it back? Will we save Simba or are we Simba?

I still do not know why he was so facinated by the ducks. Maybe because we don't usually see so many??? None the less I am not kiding when I say I ended up with 100 pic's of ducks. I will give him some credit and say he was bored and the recent head injury and all. He was also looking for that "perfect shot" of them. Maybe a photographer in training?

Day 2 Part 2

Next we were off to the Safari.

In line….

DS 13 had just taught all the boys about the Longhorns….so here is a recurring pose…Hookem Horns….(I’m actually not a fan of UT rather another Texas School but we wont start that debate here)

Hmmm here is that trend again of no pictures of Mom…..

So here are some pictures of the ride.

After this we rode Everest. We had one of our little guys under the height requirement, so we did the parent swap. This was especially crazy with 6 of us, picture herding cattle that would be similar. DS 13 decided he would ride it for the first time. So, I rode with him. He decided the front row is where he wanted to be. Hmmm ok? This was a new spot for me on this ride. I had ridden in the middle and toward the back on our honeymoon, so I thought maybe this was a good idea for DS13 who wanted to take it a little bit easier. (he is a ride weenie) I should have known there was a problem with this idea when there was a line for these seats. Usually people are “stuck” there on other rollercoasters. Well it was about 6 groups deep. So we waited and finally loaded in the front. Everything is the same until you get to the broken track. I have to admit, it’s pretty cool up there, you can see out over the property and see some of BB. Then you start to go backwards….well that is like being at the back of a normal rollercoaster. Then when the track switches and you go forward again…the drop feels worse for some reason. I actually had a blast and in the end DS13 liked it too, but we were very surprised. The ride picture was the greatest. DS13 was down in the seat again, you could barely tell he was in the seat next to me. Wish I had the camera to have taken that picture.

Then we were off to our 4pm ressie at Yak & Yeti. For some reason I only have pictures of our deserts. Must have been the important part of the meal!

Day 2 Part 3

We hop on Buzz first as the boys love this ride and the line wasn’t too bad.

Daddy and DS6 on Buzz….yes that crazy man is my DH! LOL

Then we decide to put the little guys where they belonged (for the moment!)

Then I was able to take a couple of shots of the castle before the fireworks.

Then Wishes began…we were at the hub in the middle of the street. These might be a little out of order because my memory card randomly fills deleted spots.

Ok, I am hijacking my own thread for a VERY important decision. I need some help with this one!!

As you all know I have been in the process of being laid off. Was told in Feb that I had till Dec. Well I have been looking for a job and have found 2 oddly enough. Before I accept, they of course want to know about any vacation plans I have. We had actually commited to not go back this year and wait for next year, but.....I opened my e-mail today and found a 40% off PIN for December. We usually go in November and could still be do able, but what would you do? Would you go for Thanksgiving week or Christmas week? Are the crowd levels similar?

Help help help!!

I don't know that we will be able to go at all this year especially with the job change, but it's aweful hard to let that 40% off go to waste.

I know the Lord will always provide for us and work it all out for us. What a great comfort that is to know!

Glad to see you made it back safe and I have been reading your updates...glad The Biscuits had such a great time!

Day 2 Part 4

I like this one because the castle is such a different color.

Then we were off to the Laugh Floor. All the kids really liked this show. I really like this one too!

We rode POTC again, then I took a blurry picture of Main Street on our way out of the park.

Then we got back to our rooms and found these surprises.

Each of the boys had their own cards from their favorite characters with a balloon attached.

We were tired out! So we got ready for bed and passed out!
We had such a great time today, we just can’t wait until tomorrow and we return to our favorite park! EPCOT!!

I love your fireworks pics, HOW do you do it? I cannot get my camera to shoot well. Granted its a point & shoot but its a nice one. Hmm? who knows. LOL

The boys just loved...loved...loved the cards and balloons. Their little faces just lit up even after a VERY long day!

Thanks for the compliment. It's the weirdest thing. I tried for 2 years to find the right setting. Finally one day I think hmmm.... what would work for the fast moving fireworks? It just clicked. I tried the sports setting. Fast moving if you have it and night time if you have that. And now....wow wee....cool firework pictures. HTH

Sorry for the delay in postings. We are almost settled in Waco. Moving is rough. Should be posting more regularly now!!

Day 2 Part 3

We took our mid-day break like good little "in the know" people do.

We were way to excited to head to MK to rest for long.

Who can resist the HUGE iconic letters? Well technically you aren't suppose to climb on them or anything, but .....this little guy is way too cute dwarfed by the size of the R to not take this picture.

We had to time the picture just right so we were not corrupting others and we weren’t getting caught of course.

After we skillfully avoided detection.

We hopped on a bus to the MK!!! And we were on our way.

First up was Buzz as the boys love this ride and the line wasn’t too bad. So we got right on it.

It was getting really close to Firework time and we definitely wanted to watch them again. After all these were the “Wishes” fireworks, not the “Holiday Wishes” we had seen yesterday. So we made our way to the hub in front of the Castle, and of course I made time to take a couple of shots of the castle before the fireworks started. Tonight was so uncommon; the crowds were so very low!! We were able to walk up to the hub just 20-30 min’s before the fireworks started and have a great place to watch them.

I just love the castle with all the Christmas lights on it.

I love this picture! I’m so glad I FINALLY figured out how to take firework pictures!!

I love this one....It reminds me of Fantasia and Sorcerer Mickey.

This one even made my DH happy I took so many pictures.

Day 2 Part 4

Ode to the Fireworks....where I last left you I was oogling and blissfully remembering a magical night of fireworks....

Oh yes....here is the continuation of said oogling. DH always made fun of me before he went to Disney about how I would sit with our photo albums when I had a bad day at work and relive our trips. He actually got rather tired of hearing about how in this picture we were doing this and in that picture we are doing that. BUT now that he's been a couple of times, he gladly sits with me sighing right along with me. The other night infact, he asked me if I was having withdrawls yet. I was like yes, from the moment we left the property. Enough of the sitcom family moment...back to the trip report already...

Ok so on with my comentary of the firework pictures!

After the fireworks were over and the crowds subsided we meandered to Tommorrowland and off to the Laugh Floor. All the kids really liked this show. I really like this one too!
