Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Dinosaur picture is HILARIOUS!! When my son was younger we home schooled him for a while (5th-7th grades) because he was being bullied at school to the point that it was making him physically sick. Happier topic- during that time we were able to go to Disney during the slow season and we often could rides multiple times in a row. To make it fun we would do silly pictures like yours. I never bought any of the silly ones and now I wish I had.

:cool1: Woo-Hoo for both of your upgrades!

Because of you I always pay close attention in the restrooms now:laughing:

I loved your picture on Dinosaur. I showed it to River and he thought it was great that you had planned your pic. Now he is walking around doing his hands like Hunter in the pic!

Can't wait for more!

NO WAY- on your cruise upgrades. That's awesome!!! (Let us know if there is a another modify that puts you in the Presidential suite for $10)

The Tree of Life pictures are great. The one of you and John is really nice.

Your comment about the planning video made me smile. The one my family remembers is the family coming off Buzz Lightyear and they say "Granny-bot won"

Also loved your commentary with Mrs. Huxtable at Dinosaur. Isn't she an auto technician, too???

GREAT Dino picture! I've always wanted to do that with my family. YMCA or something like that. But they are not really on board.

HI Lisa,
LOVE the pic! That's so cool that you know where the cameras are and can 'pose'....I would love to have a pic like that...next trip I'll have to really pay attention..

congrats on the room upgrade!! YEAH!

I've been trying to find your post about making dresses but I can't find it...maybe it's on another thread. Anyway my extended family is going on a trip at the end of May. We will have 4 girls ages 4-6. We would love to see some samples of your dresses. Do you have any besides the ones on ebay?

I do have more fabric but just haven't sewn more dresses up yet. The last set of dresses I made were custom and I made a special Photobucket page of the fabrics for the lady to choose from. Would you like for me to post the pictures of the fabrics?

Lisa that is an awesome deal!!!!!! What a great thing for your first Disney Cruise!!!!!! I am sure it is all worth it! Can't wait to start reading your pre-trip report!!! Like always.....I live through your trips!!!

If you get a chance I would love to see a pictue of one of your dresses.

I know we talked about a dress a while back, but it wasn't the right size. If you're interested in making custom sizes, let me know.

Yes I would love to see pics of the fabric.

Thanks so much!

Let's see how many pictures and descriptions of the fabric I can get done before the boss gets back from lunch and our accountant comes in. As I said before, I do take custom orders for the pillowcase dresses and they can range in sizes 3 to 8.

Some of the dresses can be all one design/fabric. Other's have a band around the bottom in a different design/fabric. Most request that the dresses with the band at the bottom have a solid color top. The all one design dresses look really cute with a pattern instead of a solid. The ribbon ties are all done in a contrasting color/pattern.

All dresses are made from 100% cotton and are made in light to medium weight fabric so that they are cooler during the Spring/Summer. In the Winter, the girls can wear a turtleneck or long sleeve shirt and tights underneath.

Here are two examples of the dresses with the bands:

101_3390.jpg

Now on to the fabrics. These are the fabrics that I have on-hand right now with some being just enough for two or three dresses so they will be sold first come/first served. I am constantly on the lookout for new fabrics though. If you have any certain color, pattern, etc. just let me know and I'll see what I can find.

This is Minnie Mouse fabric. I recently made dresses using the black fabric for the top and the Minnie Mouse fabric as the band/hem.

For some reason, the solid color fabric has a washed out look to it after I scanned it. It's really a bright turqouise. This would be a solid top dress with Tinkerbell band/hem.

1-15-201280520PM.jpg

Pretty plaid fabric. This would make a cute one fabric dress.

1-15-201280649PM.jpg

Pink with green polka dots fabric. This would make a cute one fabric dress:

1-15-201280806PM.jpg

Disney Princess "seersucker" fabric and pink solid fabric. This would be a solid top dress with Princess hem/band.

1-15-201281115PM.jpg

Bright green hearts and stars fabric. This would make a cute one fabric dress.

1-15-201281249PM.jpg

This next piece of fabric was wrinkled when I scanned it...sorry. This would be a solid top dress with the Mickey Mouse band/hem. I do have enough of this fabric to make a couple of dresses using just the Mickey Mouse fabric but it's a bit on the thin side for a solid dress:

1-15-201281817PM.jpg

Red and white polka dot dress. This makes a super cute one fabric dress with white ribbon ties. It has a little bit of a tie dyed/faded effect to it:

1-15-201281920PM.jpg

I have enough of this Tinkerbell fabric to make hem/band dress with a solid top. You could choose the solid color.

1-15-201283941PM.jpg

This butterfly fabric does not show up well on the scanner. It is much prettier than the scanned picture as it has a shimmer to it. This would make a cute one fabric dress:

1-8-201265636PM.jpg

Light grey with bright mod-style flower fabric. This would be a one fabric dress:

1-8-201264803PM.jpg

I have enough of this Tinkerbell fabric to make hem/band dress with a solid top. You could choose the solid color.

I have enough of this ladybug/dragonfly/butterfly fabric to make hem/band dress with a solid top. You could choose the solid color.

1-15-201283512PM.jpg

I call this next print a thumbprint pattern because it reminds me of a thumbprint. It's a neat pattern. This would be a one fabric dress:

1-2-201274005PM.jpg

I love this tye dye print! It's so bright and colorful (and it would help keep track of the girls while in the parks). This would be a one fabric dress:

1-2-201273745PM.jpg

I have enough of this Nerds Rock fabric to make hem/band dress with a solid top. You could choose the solid color.

1-15-201283210PM.jpg

I have enough of this Hannah Montana fabric to make hem/band dress with a solid top. You could choose the solid color.

1-15-201283050PM.jpg

I have enough of this Winnie the Pooh and friends fabric to make hem/band dress with a solid top. You could choose the solid color.

Pirates of the Caribbean fabric. I have enough of this fabric to make a dress with a band/hem and a solid color top. You could choose the solid color.

Winne the Pooh and Friends. I have enough of this fabric to make a dress with a band/hem and a solid color top. You could choose the solid color.

1-15-201282225PM.jpg

Little Einsteins. I have enough of this fabric to make a one fabric dress for a little girl or I could make the solid top/band at the hem dress. You could choose the solid color:

Each of the following fabrics are bright and colorful and super cute! I have enough of each to make one fabric dresses:

Another pretty tye dye print. This would be a one fabric dress:

Just cherry and plaid fabric. This would be a cute one fabric dress:

1-8-201274811PM.jpg

Pretty plaid. This would be a cute one fabric dress:

1-8-201274638PM.jpg

This next set of fabrics are bright and colorful. The patterned fabric would be the band/hem and the solid would be the top of the dress:

1-8-201273610PM.jpg

This next set of fabrics features bright daisy flowers which would be used for the hem/band. The solid would be the top of the dress:

1-8-201265933PM.jpg

This next set of fabrics features delicate blue flowers which would be used for the hem/band. The solid would be the top of the dress:

1-8-201275217PM.jpg

Black and white animal print. This would be used for the band/hem of the dress and the top would be a solid black.

1-8-201274048PM.jpg

Minnie Mouse patterned fabric. This would be used for the band/hem of the dress and the toop would be the solid red.

Finally all caught up! LOVE the photo from Dinosaur! We always try and take crazy photos on those too when I go with my friends!

So exciting you got all those cruise upgrades! I did an inside cabin once and I swore I would never do it again! I felt like I was in a closet! So exciting! I think you will all love it!

Congratulations on another upgrade on the cruise! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

LOVE all the fabrics; I can't wait to see what you made my traveling partners. :goodvibes

Hang tight ya'll.....I'm trying to get back to the Dis and post another installment. But, the boss is in one doozy of a "I need to clean off my desk" mood today and has been piling the work on me. :sad2:

I'm going to see how much of an update I can get done while the boss has a client with him. Hopefully, it won't be too short. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that the client has a lot to talk about. ;)

**********************************************************

When I left off, we had just gotten off Dinosaur and bought our staged picture. We also used a snack credit to get a Coke and we stood in the shade while we took turns getting a drink. No, we aren't that cheap that we didn't want to buy everybody a drink, it's just that it was so hot outside that it would have gotten hot very quickly and who wants to drink a hot Coke? :crazy2:

Lacey must have been acting crazy or something because I can tell John was about to start laughing:

100_1620.jpg

Good thing she waited until after he had gotten a drink before she did this:

Hunter doing his best Price is Right model pose:

We decided to move our hinnies out into the sun and I snapped a couple of pictures along the way:

100_1622.jpg

100_1623.jpg

We weren't out in the sun for long because we made a stop in the little store that I never knew it's name until now:

100_1624.jpg

Wonder what creative genius came up with that name? Super unique don't cha think. :rolleyes2

I love how they have all sorts of things hanging from the ceiling in the store:

100_1625.jpg

100_1626.jpg

100_1627.jpg

A few pictures of the merchandise for sale. We saw these same things in the other park stores. I wish they'd come out with more park specific items.

Hunter playing with one of the dinosaur puppets. He has this same one stored away in one of the 90 million boxes in our attic.

100_1632.jpg

We didn't see anything that took our breath away so we decided to continue on towards Asia and Expedition Everest. Somewhere between the store and the big yellow dinosaur, I spotted this pretty large grasshopper chewing on the foliage:

100_1639.jpg

Never one to pass up a photo op, John and I hopped into this classic car and did a little cruising:

100_1637.jpg

I have one of the kids in the car too but I can't see to find it. If or when I do, I'll post it even if it's totally out of order.

***Continued in next post

Apparently, our walk over to Expedition Everest was an uneventful and not too inspiring one because I have no pics until we arrived at the entrance and saw this:

100_1640.jpg

Woo baby! Can you believe a 25 minute wait at 2:15 in the afternoon? That's an awesome wait time for a major attraction. At least it is during our travel times! John normally doesn't ride Expedition Everest because he said that it makes him "feel funny" (not good for a person with epilepsy) but decided to ride too. Pictures of the queue.

I was amazed at the number of coins on the ground, on the statues, everywhere! I once read that Disney gave some of the coins in the fountains to charity but that's been years ago. I wonder why they don't collect this with a big vacuum and send these to charity as well. Many looked as if they had been there for quite some time.

100_1649.jpg

100_1650.jpg

I took this one because I thought some of the circles formed a hidden Mickey.
