Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

100_1474.jpg

I love all the pictures, but seeing this made me laugh. Do you remember on my PTR the bird that made that massive next up in the tree at the zoo? This is what kind of bird that was, a Hamerkop. So, if you saw any huge nests anywhere in there it was from these birds! :rotfl:

We left the birds and the small animals behind because we were ready for the good stuf....the gorillas! In the past, we have been lucky enough to see them each and every time we've visited. Mind you, sometimes, they have been sitting on the edge of the forest so we only got glimpses but then other times, they were sitting right there in front of the window as if they were just waiting on us.

We continued on the trail and came upon the meerkat enclosure but there weren't many out on this day and neither were the deer.

Let's get on with it....let's get to where the gorillas live to see if they would be out and about today. Guess what? They were! :yay:
There were several out and I was taking pictures with one camera and Hunter with the other. So, they are out of order but you can still see these magnificient animals:

This was taken from one of the viewing areas and you can see pictures of the people in front of us. Oops!

SANY6267.jpg

SANY6268.jpg

These two gorillas followed each other everywhere and occasionally would make grunting sounds at one another like they were saying "back off" but it didn't stop either of them.

100_1487.jpg

In this picture, it looks like one is trying to sneak up on the other:

SANY6272.jpg

100_1488.jpg

When the one that was sitting down would look over his shoulder, the other one would do this....act like he was just looking at the ground:

SANY6273.jpg

And then do this when he thought it was safe:

The one who was watching "the sneaky one" decided to go get a drink of water from the stream:

But he was still looking and listening for ol' sneaky guy:

He got up and walked around and propped himself up and looked as if he dozed off 'cause he ended up lying down:

But he didn't lie down for long because there was some rustling going on up the hill and he had to go check it out. We continued on the path too because we wanted to see how this story was going to play out.

100_1515.jpg

There they are!

100_1516.jpg

100_1517.jpg

A castmember came along and said that it was obvious that they weren't too happy with one another right then. We watched the whole "I see you but you don't see me." song and dance for a little while longer and decided to give up. If they ended up duking it out, we didn't get to see it.

**Up next: I'm hungry!

Great updates, Lisa. I love the safari pictures.

And I could spend hours and hours just watching those gorillas. :goodvibes

Our stomachs were getting a little hungry so we decided to go ahead and stop for lunch. Everybody likes Pizzafari and the air conditioning would feel especially good today so that's where we headed. But, not before taking a picture:

John and Hunter went to find a table while Lacey and I placed the orders and waited on the food.

Hunter's plain cheese pizza:

Humm....I guess Lacey got a cheese pizza too because I don't have a picture of it.

I know that the food they serve at Pizzafari is not gourmet but we like it and we have always been able to find a seat. We left Pizzafari and our next stop was It's Tough To Be A Bug. Bye Pizzafari:

The line was moving so quickly that I didn't have time to snap as many pictures of the carvings as I would have liked but who can complain about a fast moving line?

***I am going to stop here because I know that I have pictures that I attempted to take inside the show (without flash of course) that aren't uploaded to photobucket yet. At least I got a couple of installments posted. Now, I'll try to do replies.

It's so funny seeing those 2 male gorillas trying to sneak up on each other, all while pretending they are not. They really are so human-like in many ways.

Pizzafari is one of my favorite CS restuarants, mainly because of those gorgeous murals!

Loving all of the gorilla shots! They are so cool!

I think we have the same "bug-eye" pictures. LOL! :rotfl:

I got that Italian sandwich at Pizzafari and it was really delicious. Nice choice John! :thumbsup2

Love the gorilla pictures! I could watch them for hours sometimes.

While we prefer the waterside seating at Flame Tree, we really like the Italian sandwich at Pizzafari. It is one of my favorites.

We always head to the far back room and usually there may be one or two other tables of people and the rest is empty. It's so nice to be in such a large room and have it feel so empty...especially at Disney!

I'm kinda scared of gorillas! The reason being....their eyes! They just look so intelligent! Like they really know what we are saying, but aren't gonna let it slip!:rotfl2:

Nice butt shots says Kadence!:lmao:

Mmmmmm Pizzasafari! We enjoyed all of our meal there, and like you have always found a seat there.

I love the gorilla shots and the story to go with them!

We always eat at Pizzafari too and it always seems like we have the place to ourselves.

Looking foward to seeing the rest of your day!

I LOVE your gorilla photos! You got some really great shots. I wonder if they ever fought that day.
That photo of the colobus monkey sign is really cool- I love the way the perimeter is blurred, but the sign itself is clear. Thanks for the Okapi photos- they are my favorite! I never really got to see them on my last trip because they are always hiding in the trees.

Love the gorilla pictures! He was trying to be so clever!! :rotfl:

Pizzafari is one of Keith's favorites! (Can you believe he would admit to having a favorite!? :goodvibes). I love the Italian sandwich. But for a quick meal we have started splitting pizza or breadsticks and the ceasar salad. It is a great refuelign plus the colorful, air conditioned space is a wonderful reprieve! And then we always head straight to ITTBAB!!!

You got some fabulous shots of those gorillas. I love the story with it too. It's so funny. Some of those shots are like postcard perfect

You got great gorilla photos!!! I love the Tree of Life. A fact I find interesting - I was watching a show on TV about how Dinsey builds the amazing things in their theme parks and the Tree of Life is built on top of/around a deep sea oil rig. The bugs life show is under the legs of the rig and the tree uses the rig as its support system. Disney purchased it from a company in Texas, it was barged across the Gulf and shipped in from the coast. I find that totally fascinating!!

If I had the time, I would stand and watch the gorillas for hours on end, especially these two. I wish that I knew how the story ended.

We have eaten Flame Tree before but it seems so blessed hot when we go and the thought of eating hot bbq outside keeps us away.

I'm kinda scared of gorillas! The reason being....their eyes! They just look so intelligent! Like they really know what we are saying, but aren't gonna let it slip!:rotfl2:

You sound like my friend, except she's afraid of cats for the same reason you are kinda scared of gorillas.

Tell Kadence that I had even more butt shots than the ones that I posted.

I love the gorilla shots and the story to go with them!

We always eat at Pizzafari too and it always seems like we have the place to ourselves.

It was really neat to see the interaction between the two gorillas and I wish I knew how the story ended.

I LOVE your gorilla photos! You got some really great shots. I wonder if they ever fought that day.

I wonder too! If they didn't full-on fight, I'd be surprised.

Usually the Okapi are hiding when we are there too but this time they were pretty close to the front of their enclosure.

Love the gorilla pictures! He was trying to be so clever!! :rotfl:

It was funny to watch the gorilla in the back. He'd pick up a little pebble or piece of bark from the ground whenever the other one would look at him. He thought he was being smart.

Keith has a favorite? Whaaaaaat? :rotfl:

You got some fabulous shots of those gorillas. I love the story with it too. It's so funny. Some of those shots are like postcard perfect

I love the ones of the gorilla at the waterfall. They are my favorites.

I saw that show too! As a matter of fact, I've seen it a couple of times because I was so amazed by it. I love watching anything that has to do with how Disney World was "made".

Hi Lisa,
You're up late! I'll go out on a limb and guess the gorillas will be out. It's kinda tough for those big guys to hide. My DW and I just love Animal Kingdom. We went to the local zoo yesterday since the weather was so good for this time of the year. Got some good gorilla pics while there too.

I took some really great pictures of the gorillas at AK last year (2011). WOW!!! I need to remember that last October is now last year. Time flies when you're having FUN!!!

BTW, have a Fantastic time on the cruise! There's always something to do both on and off the ship. Of course for me something to do also means it's a good time to have a beer!

We were happy that the gorillas were out and about and I was able to take some great pictures.

I'm hoping that we enjoy the cruise. I think I'm looking more forward to the land portion than the at sea portion of the trip.

You are right, it is a very cool picture. :thumbsup2

I'm afraid of birds, or I should say, of birds flying close to me in an enclosed space, so we didn't spend much time in that area.

Those birds do fly pretty close to you at times. So close that I've had to duck (pun intended :lmao:).

I always love a good picture of the giraffes under a tree with Spanish moss. Nice safari pics. I also love the Pangani trail and my guess is that the gorillas will emerge. Hopefully Lilly will be there too. I had a little trouble spotting her in December, but then she came out!

The Spanish moss on the safari makes me smile 'cause I always wonder if there's actually Spanish moss in Africa.

Those giraffe pictures are really great!

The Pangani trail is really beautiful. Love the waterfall shot! :thumbsup2

I love going down the trails at the Animal Kingdom. John could give two hoots about them but I love them.

I love all the pictures, but seeing this made me laugh. Do you remember on my PTR the bird that made that massive next up in the tree at the zoo? This is what kind of bird that was, a Hamerkop. So, if you saw any huge nests anywhere in there it was from these birds! :rotfl:

I had forgotten about you seeing that same kind of bird!

Great updates, Lisa. I love the safari pictures.

I could watch them for hours too but there's too little time in the day.

It's so funny seeing those 2 male gorillas trying to sneak up on each other, all while pretending they are not. They really are so human-like in many ways.

Pizzafari is one of my favorite CS restuarants, mainly because of those gorgeous murals!

They were really funny to watch because they both thought they were tricking the other.

GREAT gorilla pictures!!! I love how you explained the game you watched in such detail.

This one makes me feel much better about how I look in a pair of jeans!

The pictures of you guys in the bug glasses cracked me up!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I guess those pictures of the gorilla booties do make me feel better about my own behind. :rotfl2:

Loving all of the gorilla shots! They are so cool!

I think we have the same "bug-eye" pictures. LOL! :rotfl:

I got that Italian sandwich at Pizzafari and it was really delicious. Nice choice John! :thumbsup2

I think everybody has bug eye glasses pictures. Who can resist?

John orders the Italian sandwich every time we go to Pizzafari.

I think I posted replies to everybody's posts. I am trying to get another installment posted but my boss doesn't seem to realize the fact that he needs to leave me the heck alone and quit giving me things to do.

Yesterday, I made a payment on our cruise and when I got the confirmation email, it said I could look at the reservation. Of course, I did. There was blue wording near our stateroom category that said something like "modify" and I clicked on it just because I could. Lo and behold there was a deluxe inside stateroom now available and it was only $90.00 to upgrade. I jumped on it immediately and was able to upgrade our stateroom.

Oh well, the boss is hollering again. If I hear JESUUUUUUUS CHRIST one more time, I'm going to smack him on the back of the head. I hate it when somebody says "Jesus Christ" like that. I would rather they say a cuss word.
