jumpiness of threads on the dis due to ads

What's happening to me besides all the jumpiness is that the page goes "all white " or blank if you want to call it that for a quick moment every time I go anywhere on the DIS. That just started this morning.

I'm getting redirected to some 'you won a free apple product' site. Only when I'm on the DIS. I can't cancel it or anything. It's not even opening another window. Tried Safari & Chrome on iphone & Ipad.

This is also happening to me. I can sometimes hit the back button but others I close it out and restart. It's annoying.

Ad Blocker Plus is working great for me on both PC (Firefox) and MAC (Firefox).

I also just read an article (here) which shows how IOS 9 now supports content blockers directly in Safari by downloading Ad Blocker apps directly from the App Store. Haven't tried it yet since I don't read the DIS on my iPhone or iPad. If you try this make sure you don't download an Ad Block Browser.

I've always had problems on my phone and just gave up after awhile. I've never had problems on my computer until the past 48 hours. It is terrible. The entire screen goes white and it says, "waiting for _____." In most cases it says Facebook, but it has been other sites and even other threads. My ad blocker prevents it from loading, but this is still annoying.

Has anyone found out if this is being addressed? I notice this post started in July. I'm assuming there isn't a fix in the works since it has been months.

I posted a link to this thread in the "Technical Issues" forum. Hopefully someone will see it and alert whoever to fix whatever.

I am seeing it do like a double down load. This is driving me crazy. I don't understand what they have to keep working on the boards every night. It seems like things are getting worse.

Now that you mention it, it is also doing this on my normal computer. And on my iPad I can't stay logged in anymore.

Ditto. And my page is jumping more than ever. Last few days have been absolutely awful.

Only site I've been on that does this is Dis.

How the heck did you figure THAT out? I just added "facebook.net" to AdBlock Plus and no more jumpy white screens! Of course, I bet my phone is still messed up.

Worked for me, too. I had to go from adblock lite to full in order to block facebook.net and get rid of most of the problems. It's not completely normal, just much better right now for me.
I agree, I'm sure my phone is still crazy.

I can't believe they haven't found a way to fix this yet. There has to be something the DIS can do to make its stop. I only read on my computer and iPad and it's bad on both (no smartphone). I have to stop and wait after every click to make sure it's stopped jumping before I do anything or I end up clicking on the thing above what I want to read.

So far it's just other people complaining of the same issues and moderators saying they've noticed issues too, but they don't know who is responsible for fixing them.....
