Most of you correctly guessed that this was actually test track. Lots of good guesses for where I took it from but the actual answer was the GM VIP lounge (which also gets you onto the ride from the exit). If you look up when you are on the ride you will see the oblong window. They have some fascinating pictures of the ride development and GM history. You can also see out the front where the cars go very fast but it is not easy to catch them from straight above
