It is sooo much easier to have a no buy day when you're alone, but isn't it nice having the grandmunchkins? My youngest niece was in our town last year for college and while she was a bit draining on the pocketbook (she was on a really, really tight budget and I like to spoil. . .:rolleyes1) I so enjoyed having her company. She changed majors and is at a 2 year school (much easier on the overall pocketbook and it has a better program for her major.) for a year, then will switch to a 3rd school, so it's all good, but I miss her!

That is SO awesome!! I bet she misses you as much as you miss her!! I really miss my grandmunchkins!! It doesn't help that every time we facetime my older grandmunchkin tells me how much he wants to come home, how much he misses Wolfie, Sparky, me and mom, lol, always his pets first. AND I NEVER spoil them, (cough cough, looks up to see if lightning is falling from the sky on a clear day, ready to come down and strike me through our roof, second story, down to the first floor as I'm sitting on the couch.)

They are spoiled rotten, lol!! But, it was fun to shop by myself and only do what I wanted at the time. I will gladly blow no buy day s to buy them lunch or icees, or ice cream, or toys, lol. That means they're here!!!

I do not even want to discuss last years Prime Day. They offered 20% off of Warehouse Deals. I went a little crazy.

Lol, last year I didn't buy anything, as I was out of town. My daughter had a LOT of fun shopping though. Lol.[/QUOTE]

StayhomeMom, I hear you!! Toddlers are SO much work! I think you're wise to have had a treat!!!

Wow!!!! Mowing your yard is hard work!!! Especially in the summer months!!!!

I've had days, weeks, months when I knew I was out of control in my spending, but honestly, your expenditures seem really practical!!!

It's not like you bought a $99 Instant Pot lol.

No spending today, just work. And I also sold another $50 in stuff so I added that towards our debt dumping! If we can keep up this pace we will have all of the credit cards and DH's student loan knocked out in 8 months. Feeling really happy about this month so far.

And I will keep that in mind tomorrow. I am planning to not even glance on Amazon, because I don't even want the temptation.

I am! It's my grandmunchkins birthday next month so I'm hoping to find him something. Have you heard from your husband? Is everything ok? My daughter lost her seat on her flight home at 7 this morning, but she got on tonight and should be landing in an hour.

Jen I'm glad you had a fun AND profitable weekend!!!!!

Yes, he came back late..and guess what! He's leaving tomorrow afternoon for work until July 25th. Just shoot me!!
He usually only travels for 1-2 days for work, while I'm the one that travels for weeks at a time. Sucks to be on the other side of this.

Prime Day starts at 2amCST!! I actually tried to clear my calendar (no judging)
Also, I can make fast past reservations tomorrow. Yay!

I'm glad he got home safely, but sheesh, the 25th is a long way away!! Hopefully the time will go quickly!!

No judgement about clearing your calendar from me!! And fast passes too!! That's awesome!!! It's almost vacation!!!!

JULY:

1- No buy #1!!
2- No buy #2!
3- Well not a no buy day. We went to Marshalls and I found a bathroom shelf, for above the toilet. I've been looking for one I like and score!!!! It was only $16.99. Went to dinner, but used a gift card, but got coffee, $6.53. (Which I never do, so it was a treat for us!!! )
4- I can call this one now, lol, were not going anywhere today and we have leftovers from yesterday, lol. No buy #3!!! I will report if this does change, but very doubtful!
5- Able to call this one early. Staying home! #4
6- No buy #5. Went to dinner and out with my daughter, but she bought dinner!! Yes, I'm spoiled. And it was fun to go to a nice/trendy restaurant that the boys would have hated, lol.
7- No buy #6
8- Well I took meat out of the freezer, but than I bought an instant pot, as our rice cooker died, (it was $10 7 years ago at a black Friday sale, as well as the crock of my crock pot getting broken in our move, so this one pressure, slow, rice, Brown's and sautees!
9- I am amazed! I went grocery shopping and got crickets, cricket food, ear cleaner for our Wolfie,, groceries and nothing else!!!! All necessities!! I love my grandmunchkins, but it was much easier to get a no buy day alone, lol. No buy #7!!
10- Yay, stayed home and enjoyed looking at instant pot recipes, so no buy #8!!
11- No buy #9! But the r especially two things I'm hoping to find discounted for Prime Day!!!!!

Those Instant Pots are practical, useful and look really cool! Oh, I've been out of control on my spending as well. I know I have to rein it in.

I'm not judging. . .I found the 20% off Warehouse deals last night and. . .oh dear. Some purchases I've been delaying are no longer delayed. This morning, the only thing that got me were the Bose headsets. And that might go back. I am waiting for certain gift card deals!

Staying home does sooooo help with No Buy, I completely agree.

11th Update - Prime Day. Grrrr. . . Found a 20% off Warehouse Deals coupon on Google soooo - $91 for some new fake diamond stud earrings (for travel - real ones stay home in the jewelry box), a new, good leather purse (old one is beginning to look crummy) and a solar charger for my phone. $100 - upgrade to 1st class on a 7 hour trip. (If that's not impractical, I don't know what is. I justified it to myself with no checked bag fees and free breakfast, lunch and drinks.)
12th - $50 Bose earbuds (I am 75% certain those are going back.) I am hopefully going to get some gift cards during Prime Day, but they're all for restaurants and pet stuff, so I'm not going to count them. $23 - an extra Kindle, an older one but one with free 3G and a keyboard. $7 - leather case for new Kindle. (I am not talking about how many Kindles and Fires I own right now because this one is like the one I lost - I can get online in a hurricane to check the weather. It pays for itself.)

So I already bought something for Prime Day. DH needed a bike lock. Originally $50 plus tax, got it for $11.49 after discount and an Amazon card I got during the Swagbucks sale. I looked through the upcoming deals to see if the bike rack we want will be on sale, but it isn't so I think that means we are safe for the rest of the day. *fingers crossed*

Actually $100 is a really good price for a first class upgrade and if it gets you the bags plus two meals, I think that is totally worth it.

I know, I know, but I generally only fly 1st class if I can get the bump for free. $100 was the change fee for swapping to the $1st class seat, which I know is crazy good and really is a free upgrade, almost, but mppphhh. . .$100 is 2 nights at an Airbnb or half a rental car fee to go hiking. . .

Sooo. . .now the hard part. I will be travelling starting Saturday. 4 days in Little Rock on work/visiting family then 4 days in Bahstan and Acadia National Forest visiting BFF. . .Saturday will be a No Buy Day, as will Tuesday. I think I am just going to put "Vacation" up for the other days and not really track. How do ya'll generally do this when you're out and about?
