July exercise challenge--time to make your 1/2 year resolution to be healthy and fit!

I've been lurking too - hope it's ok if I join in since it's only day 2.

I know it's a low goal compared to everyone else but I'm waaaay overweight and haven't exercised regularly in years. I'm trying to start with a conservative goal and work my way back up.

We don't travel again until next year but I'd really like to be in better shape for the next trip.

5.42 miles yesterday along w/ my 200 crunches. I was literally walking to see how many calories I could have for dinner & still make my burn. I much prefer early in the day, but no time. It was 90+ and no shade. HOT!!!!

128 min yesterday with the dog(s). About 5 with the husky fast and then about .75 with each of the yorkies MUCH slower.

My walking goal for the year was 750 miles and I'm currently at 439.33. Not bad! Now if only this weight would start disappearing!

Okay, it's time for me to stop lurking the W.I.S.H. boards and commit already! We're going to UNI/IOA in September and I'd love to enjoy the Wet & Wild water park without worrying about my thighs. ;)

I started the month strong with 40 yesterday and 35 today bringing me to 75/750. I'll let you know if I decide to increase my goal. With my new "diet" need, more exercise certainly couldn't hurt. Thanks,

We ran a 10k today, so with the walk to the race, the race, and the walk back to the car, I'm at 86/1500.

Don't worry about the number of minutes compared to everyone else. We each have personal goals and the important part is that we support each other and KEEP MOVING! :cheer2:

My numbers always are big because I track 'moderate activity' as counted by my BodyBugg.....anytime I burn more than 3cal/min.

Hmm, a goal. I am going to say 1600? I'm training for a half on Aug 1, so that might be low...

07/01: 46 min (~4 mile run/walk)
07/03: 145 min (~10 mile run/walk)

So, 191/1600.

My new goal is to reach 500 miles before I leave for FL on the 20th. After my walk this morning I'm at 457..9.....but I've done 24.14 so far this month. So I think I can make it!
 
I'll jump in here on this thread and say that mowing the lawn should certainly count.

I'll commit to 900 minutes for July. I'm going to be on the Magic's repositioning cruise in September and I would like to lose 20 more pounds before than. That's a lot to lose in two and a half months but I'll be happy with just half that gone. Set the goal high and I'm more likely to work hard to achieve it. In the past I've lost 40 pounds with low carb I've mainly kept it off but that old saying about gaining 10 pounds a decade is just about right in my case. This time I'm going to just watch portions and up my exercise.
