July Daytona Race & Crowds

Does the July Daytona race increase crowds at WDW? Does it effect crowds just for the weekend or the weeks before and after?

Well, the hotels in Valdosta, GA are usually packed Friday night on the way down. Rental cars are at a prime. Daytona is only an hour away but I don't see a lot of die hard fans running to see Mickey. If there are increased people, it's only for that weekend. Check out laidbackracing.com for all the scoop. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
