Hi,

Ever since our 1st trip to DLP in Sept 09 we are desperate to go back! We didnt have the funds to this year but im making sure we will for next year,

Anyway my questions are:

When will i be able to book for July?

Did anyone book for July this year if so did you get the 50% off offer? How much did you pay? (if you dont mind me asking, Its so i can get a rough idea of prices)

Do you think the 50% offer will be back this year for July?

And last but not least, What is the weather like in July?

Thanks in Advance :thumbsup2

oops meant to say there is 6 of us, Me, DH, DS (7) DD (3) plus my sister and her boyfriend want to come with us and we will probably book the Cheyenne as we loved it last time :)

I think you'll be able to book for July in November. There does seem to be one offer after another these days so everything crossed :wizard: :wizard: you will get a good one although I think the 50% flash sale wasn't very far in advance.

The weather in July is much like Britain ~ it can be very hot and sunny but be prepared for everything! It will be more crowded than September but you will have the bonus of longer evenings and fireworks which IMO more than compensate for this.

Happy planning! :wizard:

Hia!!
We went in July this year.
We booked it in Feb...dont know if you can book earlier as didnt start looking til January time.

Unfortunately a week or two after we booked they brought out the 40% offer and I was gutted. We ended up cancelling paying a fee and re booking under the new offer and getting an extra day and night and it was still cheaper!!!

So unless they bring out out the same or a better offer before March we will just hold on and see what happens as I dont want to be in that position again!!!

We are hoping for 40% off so we can book two rooms at the Cheyenne as there are 5 of us. We did DC's last time and that was fab but we would like to try somewhere different this time and we couldnt afford two rooms without at least 40% off!!

However if need be we will go back to DC's again.

the weather was lovely and hot but it did have some heavy showers which didnt really cause any problems and provided a bit of relief to the heat to be honest.
It was very busy esp by dinner time and early afternoon. So we used EMH and did most of the big rides early on then used Fast pass and did parades shows etcd in the afternoon which worked fdab for us. Hope that helps! x

Sorry meant to say.....We paid about £1800 for 5days and nights for 4 adults and 1 child in a premium cabin with a character meal paid for in advance ( wouldnt do this agin though !) This aslo included a euro tunnel crossing ( we drove).

After the 40% off offer we paid about £1400 for the same package but for 6 days and 5 nights!! ( Like I said was gutted!!!).

Thanks for your replies you've been very helpful :thumbsup2

Ive checked the easyjet flights already and for 4 adults 2 kids and 3 hold luggage from Glasgow to Dlp works out at just under 440 pound :cool1:

Im soo tempted to book the flights now but im too scared incase we dont get a good enough deal for July,

I dont think they did a 50% off offer in 2009 but i seen it twice for this year, Im hoping to at least get the 40% off

We loved the Cheyenne, I would definately recommend it.

I'm having the same dilemma, our flights for June are great from Glasgow just over £100 for the two of us.
But many things could go wrong with accomodation, work dates etc between now and then so I'm holding off, just hope the flight prices don't go up too much! I was going to book but my boyfriend pointed out that we shouldn't tie ourselves to exact dates until we see the offers - e.g. different hotels will offer 40% on different dates. I would be gutted to book flights then not be able to get anything at 40% off for those nights, but maybe the 40% would be there the next week!
The 50% off sales, when they appear, only ever last for a few days. They are known as flash sales. They will also be for a limited period of booking dates, maybe one month or two.
So you might be lucky with a 50% offer but it is much more likely that you will be able to get 40% as these are available for longer and more flexible dates.

The 50% flash sales are usually only for a couple of months dates at a time, ie if a flash sale comes up in early June, it will be for June - July etc.

The 40% has been a quite common discount for at least the last year or so, and high summer season dates have been included too :).

i booked my flights for this july last year and paid about £70 return from leeds/bradford i booked the kyriad and my park tickets through traval republic and it all work out great ,the wether was cool .hot , showers just like here but i have been before in summer and it was boiling (2006 was really really hot) i love the long days and late nights the links to my trip reports are in the trip report section of the forum we went july 25th -31st

How was the Kyriad? I had a look on expedia and it came in at 1400 for 2 rooms b&b for 4 adults and 2 kids for a week but obviously i need to buy tickets on top of that, We loved the cheyenne so might hold out and see if i get it for about the same or even a little more as we wouldnt have to pay for tickets but if not then the Kyriad is an option

Thanks :)

Yeah i had a look at my old emails from dlp and the 50% flash sales are far too close to the dates we would like.......Please, Please, Please Dlp have the 40% offer for next year too :flower3:

Wow that is good for flights, Ours work out at roughly 75 pound return each including hold luggage

Lets hope we both get a good deal for next summer :cheer2:

Could you manage with just one hold bag and the rest in hand luggage? When we're flying, I don't take any hold luggage at all - just hand luggage ;).

I know myself, hubby and the kids could especially as easyjet let you take a small ish suitcase each but i dont know about my sister she tends to take everything on holiday whether she needs it or not :rotfl: We're hoping to go for roughly a week so dont really need that much, Will give it a go DLPdaft :thumbsup2

Stargatebarbie - The Kyriad looks great will definately go there if we dont get a good deal for the Cheyenne, Loved your trip report :cool1:
