Day Two: No room at the Inn (Sleep Inn that is)

We're up at a decent time (8:00 am---we normally get up at 4:45 for work). DH is doing Typhoon Lagoon and I am hanging at the parks and shopping today. We get organized and leave the room. I am dis-assembling my scooter to show DH I really can do it, I look down and notice my footwear for the day....my pink fuzzy bedroom slippers. Seems I forgot to put my shoes on! I hope badshoe wasn't around. Anyway after I go back to the room to change my footwear (although the slippers were more comfortable). I drop DH off at TL and make arrangements to pick him up at 3:00 pm if he doesn't call me first. My first stop was the Magic Kingdom. This was the first time I was alone with my rental scooter and had to put it together. I did it and was sooo proud of myself. Having never been to Disney at full season I was surprised by the number of characters out!!! So so many. I may have to bring the baby during the season!!! First ride was POC. Loved it and was checking the shop for antenna toppers for people back home. I didn't find any and the pirate in the store told me they have never had them. Hmm I've had 4 people ask me to pick them up...they don't exist????? Move on. Next stop was Splash Mountain to check out the Briar Patch. They don't open until 11:00 so I move onto Fantasyland. Rode Peter Pan and Pooh. Then on to Tomorrowland. Carousel of Progress was open so I rode that. Then decided I needed to head to the Studios (had to make a purchase there too).
Got to the Studios and headed to Tower of Terror. Rode it and then had lunch at the place on Hollywood Blvd. Went into the villains store to get my nephew the villains blanket they didn't get in April. I didn't see it so I asked a CM about it. No, don't have it, never have. I call his mom on the phone and she swears they had it in April. CM says sorry NO. So I get him the towel instead. I then head over to the Great Movie Ride. Andy was my guide..he was great!!!!! Then I checked around the stores looking for Wiggles stuff and left to go to Downtown Disney.
I check out the pin station and see lots of new Belle pins. Don't get any but am thinking about it. Go into the Christmas store and find the perfect ornament for Grandson this year (every year we each get a new ornament for the tree). Mickey in a train (choo choo). DGS is choo choo crazy right now so this is perfect. As I'm wandering the store I hear this voice call my name, look up and it's DH!!!!!! It is almost scary the way he can find me anywhere!!! TL closed around 12:30 because it was so packed and it was too crowded for him so he left and caught a bus to DD figuring I'd show up sooner or later. He tried to call me on the cell phone but never got through. He had problems all weekend..we could call out but no one could call in!!! He's not very happy with his cell phone service at the moment. So we're reunited and it's off to Ghiradellis. I then check out the World of Disney..no POC antenna toppers or villains blanket. We then head over to WL and ride the water mice for an hour. We head back to the hotel, DH goes swimming and I read.
Around 9:00 pm I'm supposed to call my sister and make arrangements to meet them tomorrow. My sister booked a Universal package through Expedia. They are flying in and landing around 7:45 pm. I call the hotel and they tell me that my sister hasn't checked in yet. And they don't have a reservation for that name. We tried several different spellings and they kept telling me that there wasn't a reservation there. The clerk finally found it and said they are checking in Sunday, July 13. No, they are checking OUT on Sunday, July 13 they are on their way there NOW from the airport. I call my sister and leave a message for her to call me (I didn't want to leave a message that said ..Your hotel is not expecting you. They have no room at the Inn for you) She finally called around 10:30 pm (they were the LAST stop for the shuttle from the airport to the hotel and then had to resolve the no reservation mess). She said the Sleep Inn wasn't going to give them a room, then finally said they could have a room for that night only, they were booked for the weekend and then finally said ok you can stay. Not off to a good start are we???? We made arrangements to meet at the Universal Studios will call window at 8:30 the next day. (I thought they would want to sleep in but they didn't).
