with the Pats out, we're just watchin' for the commercials. Oh, and the 1/2 time show. Oh, and the snacking. Snow is finally melting a little today. It's a miracle.

hi - haven't posted a lot - but have a couple of things for our cruise friends -

1) BBrruuuuuccee !!!!! - happy super bowl halftime from Jersey -

2) we were just thinking here about what we can do on the cruise and were wondering that since we're leaving from london would the afternoon tea be a real english tea? i know that it's supposed to be like that on the regular cruises but wouldn't it be cool to have an english tea after leaving england -

3) also with the wine tasting, and beer tasting, do you think we would have a vodka tasting - with all of the selections from the countries that we'd be visiting

4) and it's not all liquids with us - as we have multiple dinners - would some of them be themed for the counties we're visiting -

We're not watching the Super Bowl, but I was glad for the snack-food sales at the store this week.

I was working the crossword puzzle today and one of the clues was "Its capital is Stockholm." Another was "fountain in Rome." I was excited to be able to say that I've been to the Trevi fountain and that I will be going to Stockholm SWEDEN :)

DH was talking about shopping for a big screen t.v. Money Magazine says that this week is the best time to buy them - clearing out after the Super Bowl. I asked him which he wants more - a big screen t.v. or a trip to the Baltic. Smart man said the Baltic. Of course when I wanted to stop at McD's for a $1 ice cream cone this afternoon, he asked me the same question -- ice cream cone or the Baltic.

Hope you all have a good week.

There was a piece on the news this week that stated big screen tv's are down half price from two years ago. So if you are in need, probably is a good time to buy. Ice cream sounds yummy to me, LOL!

See - that's just it - we don't "need" a new t.v. (big screen or otherwise). The tv we have is perfectly fine for our purposes. We have a lot of other things we "need" before we "need" a new t.v. Plus a big-screen t.v. for us means a new entertainment center / set-up for putting it as what we currently have won't work for it, so it's more than just the price of a t.v.

We have a new McD's that opened that is near us - right on the way home, right at the same shopping area as WalMart and Costco - and there's a little guy there that always gives me 4 swirls instead of the 2 1/2 that are supposed to be on top. I have also convinced myself that the cone is better than the sundae (both $1) because the cone only ends up with a tiny paper wrapper leftover while the sundae ends up with a plastic cup, lid, and spoon for the landfill. And while it's not quite as convenient to go to the McD's as it is to go to Deck 9 for an ice cream, it will do in a pinch. Which makes me wonder if DCL will ever put cones at their ice cream area again (we got cones on Castaway Cay, and I had cones on Carnival before).

We have had sunshine all week with temps in the low 70s. But, it is supposed to rain tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday.

Been lurking for a while. Hi everyone. i have about 8 loads of laundry. only 3 people in my family. when you are lazy and don't put laundry away...you can't rember what is clean and what isn't. Gots to do it all now. i am getting that spring fever itch where i go through the house and toss everything that doesn't have a "home".

making beef stew this evening in anticipation of rain. going out to eat Friday and making baked ziti for Saturday.

Ok Im moving back to Ca then. The past 2 days here its been in the 30s in Florida!
Were starting to look at hotels for pre and post trip. Were planning on London pre trip and then Paris after. Anyone else doing something similiar and have any suggestions?

Im still taking names for fish extenders. With the layout Monstros done of cabins it will make it very easy for teams.

we are doing London before. we were going to visit Paris after but decided to wait so we could spend more time there. we are shooting to spend 7 days in England before cruise. we will spend the 5th exploring Dover. Definately going to see Stonhenge. Depending on how long we stay, i'd like to go to Edinburgh for a couple days before London.

I think it is similar to a shore excursion. you can hop on a tour and they will take you to Stonhenge and around that area. My in-laws did that when they visited London a few years ago. i will look into it. anybody want to get a group together and go?

I just spoke with my fathir in law. he said he caught a bus from downtaown London in the morning. they toured windsor castle, Bathe, stonhenge and some other stop. they had lunch at a 700 year old inn. he said it was a day trip...leave in the morning and come back in the evening. i'm down for that. he said it was ~$100.

That sounds like a great tour. I was looking into actually staying Bath for a night, but something like this might end up being much easier than renting a car, etc.

i thought so too. it is hard for us to look that far ahead. of course we are waiting for the very last second to pay the cruise. you never konow what will happen. i would hate to book tours and then not end up going. my DH is very excited for the cruise so he will do all possible to make it happen. we won't charge any of it because we believe if you can't pay for it you can't afford it. 17 more months sends better than the 21 months when we booked. hard to believe 4 months have gone by since they released the itineraries. at least we can say next summer instead of 2 summers from now when we booked. tick tock we are ever so slightly getting closer. imagine the wait for those booked on the xmas 2010.

My only recommendation for Paris is NOT to stay at Disneyland Paris' Newport Bay Club. It was in terrible disrepair when we stayed there last July/August!

I sent you a PM to join the FE exchange.

Hope we meet up before the Cruise as it would be nice if you come to Edinburgh:thumbsup2

True, I had been in Newport Bay Hotel with two kids just myself for 5 days last 3 years ago, I enjoyed the Disney park, like back lake etc but hotel - our room was long walking, feel like miles... nice swimming pool but I won't go back there again...

I like another hotel better next door...weather was lovely, park was very busy...

Hello everyone! I'm bummed because our work guys have blocked message boards which means I can't check the DIS til the evenings, not even on break or at lunch. Oh well - guess I'll get more work done if I'm not sneaking peeks at the DIS all day :)

We had 14-degrees here this morning in north Florida - bbbrrrrr. It is supposed to be upper teens again tonight and then start warming up. I'm thankful for a roof over my head and a heating system that works!

Hope you all are well.

Thanks for the advice. I wasnt even sure we were going to go to Disney ( I know, Oh the shame) but my daughter really wants to see the "Louve" and Eiffel Tower so thought we"d stay in town. I really want to go to Scotland myself and I like the idea of there and London before too. I have been to London and its nice but would rather go someplace I havent been but hubby and daughter haven't been there so their wanting to go.
I would love to see Stonehedge too but when theres 5 of us thats $500 bucks for a day tour so im not sure on that but if we had a group maybe they would do it cheaper even?
I am bound and determined to take this cruise so picked up a part time job doing some home care and hubbies been picking up extra call time. What we do for 3 weeks of vacation!!!
