Our little gift exchange on this cruise is easy: whatever you want to do! It's totally up to you. :thumbsup2

What we did is plan a goody bag for each cabin that we'll deliver early, lots of pirate stuff..

My daughter will be in charge b/c she loves doing this. pirate:

And then there are the treats we bought today for the BEST door decoration. Only one of you will be blessed.

So - FE's early AND door decorations early! You never know when the door fairy will arrive. :wizard:

Oh my... I am so excited!! :yay:

Just got a voice message from DCL saying the Stockholm Skansen Museum and Swedish Fairytales has been cut short - no lunch - back to the ship in time for lunch. And a price reduction. Still worth doing for us - with an 8yo but was looking forward to an (almost) authentic Swedish meal! We will probably stay in the city and find our own way back as I'd like to do some shopping in old town (don't tell my DH!!!):yay:

We will be on a plane out of Toronto in exactly one week from now. Whoohooooo! London here we come!

We leave this SAT!!!!:scared1:
Today we pack...maybe shop....and pack some more.

My Mom's memorial service was very nice yesterday. ..

My father's service was made wonderful by the Navy - and it made his passing an easier thing to bear. I hope the service made it easier on your family.

I think I am starting to overthink the packing thing ... got everybody (except DH) packed ... now I am starting to worry if I brought the right clothes I think I have repacked, reevaluated, repacked and reevaluated 5 times now I think I just need to close and lock the suitcases and stop overthinking

I feel pretty good that I got most everything done ... just finishing the adult FE gifts and door decorations ... plus a few surprise things for my own kiddos (special travel journals and luggage tags) that I am making!

All the ports seem to have a July average of low 70's for the highs and in the 50's for lows, so we're taking mostly long-sleeve shirts and pants. I figure we can push the sleeves up if we get hot or throw on a jacket or sweatshirt if we get cold. We're taking shorts and short sleeves for London. So, basically, we're taking a little bit of everything. :thumbsup2

ditto:

shorts and short sleeves for London. jeans and short sleeves with a sweat shirt for ports. rain shells to put over sweatshirts if raining and small totes umbrellas. a few outfits to rotate out for dinners. doing laundry once in London and twice on the ship...looking good for 2 large suitcases and a carryon. we shall see this weekend. We leave Tuesday night!!!

At the moment we've got a bit of a heat wave going on over here, not sure how long it will last though. You might find that you'll need pants in London as well, it's not really a place where people walk round in shorts all that often. You do see them, but on the whole it's jeans or pants. Sorry if that throws a spanner in everybodies packing.

Just had a look at the Disney Magic tracker and she's back in Dover. Even more exciting, well for me anyway, the map has got my home town on it, Sheffield. I live a few miles away from there now, about nine, but if anyone was interested it gives you an idea of where Shaun and I live. Just to make it easier for you here's the link again for those who haven't seen it before.:yay:

Did they happen to say why they changed the Skanssen/folktale excursion? We're going on the Skanssen and Vasa excursion and haven't heard anything yet.

Denise, it sounds like your mom was an amazing woman and will be missed by so many people :goodvibes

Anyone know if the Catherines Palace and Hermitage tour is still a go on our cruise?

Thought I read that DCL did not get the Mon/Tues open thing sorted out?

They just said they had eliminated the lunch and would be back to the ship in time for lunch onboard, and that the times and prices were adjusted accordingly. It will be interesting to see what others say when they start posting - maybe the lunch was terrible? lots of complaints? who knows!

Hi all. I've been excited to read the blogs from those who have sailed (or are sailing) before us, and I was inspired to set one up for us. It's here if you're interested ( http://dclbaltic.blogspot.com/ ). It's really easy to update by email so I thought I'd give it a go. I've had a lot of local friends and family ask if we were going to do a "live" trip report, so we'll see how it goes. No pictures though until we get back because I'm not taking a way to upload them. I'm actually hopeful that the memory cards we have for the camera will be enough, but just in case, I'm taking our camera cord so we can get them offloaded to CD's at Shutters if we need to. One thing I don't like about our camera is that if you delete a picture, the next one you take goes into that slot - so if we've taken 10 pictures and go back and delete number 4, the 11th picture goes into that slot when they offload. Drives me crazy because before I knew it did that, I couldn't figure out why our pictures got out of order. Now we just don't delete til we've offloaded unless we delete the last picture.

Looks like all aboard is 4 p.m. for us. Will the safety drill be before that? I can't remember if that's how it is in Port Canaveral. When we sailed the Med, we didn't actually pull out from port until really late at night but they had the sail away party earlier in the day. We have the same cabin that we usually get so we know we'll be outside on Deck 4 for the safety drill.

Just think, we can officially say We're Next now that today's cruise left.

getting close ... and getting worried that this wasn't the right choice. Mickey in the carribean is AWESOME!!!!!!. Hoping mickey in alaska (next year) is super cool.... but Mickey in europe??? does the mouse 'fit'? i know he doesn't . at the same time i know Disney service can not be beat. So does Disney belong in Europe... yes. i'm safe and happy with them. but very, very curious if we will experience northern Europe culture or not.

I plan to blog (sounds like sattelites and connections limited but i'll try) an older blog. our kids are 13 and 15. we LOVE mickey but that's not why we are sailing this cruise. we are happy to experience Disney service. But looking to European experience.

We will let you know. 1 week and two days to fly over.

el bandito - i predict you will be pleasantly surprised! Mickey in the Med ws great - i know this will be too although it does seem kinda odd to not go to a beach at all on a Disney cruise:confused:

before everyone starts taking off - don't forget brunches and dis meets. also for anyone going to BF house, Porters or Lion king, or ceremony of the keys on july 4 - we'll be there!

i'm in such panic mode at the moment i'm utterly frozen - cant get a thing done.
all we really need is our passports though, right;)
