July 4th + dessert party projections question

Two questions:

1. Excited to be in WDW for july 4th. Are the fireworks much different? Wondering if I should get a dessert party that night or opt for a different night and totally avoid MK that day and just view from the resort.

2. I have been going to WDW for years and have never had what I would consider success in viewing the fireworks (especially projection show). I've found with both waiting far in advance and not waiting I haven't been able to secure a spot that allowed even a mediocre view of projections.

The seated dessert party option sounds great to me because I love the idea of not having someone pop up right in front of me (and kids) before the show starts. However, I've heard a lot about the view of projections not being the best. (I also remember reading the view for fantasmic from the dining package wasn't the best but I thought that view was excellent).

Is it a decent view of projections though (able to see the majority?). I don't need a front and center perfect view, I just want to see it. I would basically be paying 100% for the view, so dessert options aren't a concern.

Thanks in advance!

If you do a Google about reviews a few different companies have done one. It is a good view of the fireworks, but not a great view of the projections. Is most seemed to agree on that. The seated viewing is technically off to the side of the castle and not straight on. And unless they have been removed in the last few months, there are a number of trees in the line of sight between you and the bottom half of the castle. The picture below is from the Disney food blog.

I can't really speak to the 4th of July part because I haven't been there during the 4th of July. I actually had a post yesterday about the dessert party so you might want to read through what people said on my post when I was basically asking if it was worth or not. Answers were mixed.

Thanks for your response! I did read both of those, I was going to ask in the thread you posted but thought it might be better not to hijack it with both questions.

I'm finding most of the reviews just say that the view is not great, or view is not front and center (or often just general one and done, and I'm not sure exactly why that is - food, view, etc). I'm just wondering if you can actually view it; I would be okay with a not perfect view. If you basically can't see it at all though would make it not worth it for me.

Thinking I should have been clearer and changed the title to best way to view projections, lol.

It depends. I couldn't tell from your post how important the projections are to you period from from most of the reviews I am seeing, and the endless endless YouTube videos, the fireworks from there are a great view. The projections not so much. The problem isn't even entirely the side view of it, but the trees and other things in the way from seeing everything on the lower half of the castle. But if what you are gunning for is really the fireworks themselves, I think this could be a great option. If what really matters to you is getting a good view of the projections, I think you might end up being disappointed with the premium price tag you paid for it.

Thanks. I can't believe I didn't think to check out youtube videos, LOL. Definitely having a look at those right now =)

when we saw the July 4 show a few years ago the projections were only stars and red white and blue on the castle. there was nothing I needed to see. The fireworks themselves were the show. That being said now they have projections on main st so IDK if they will change this year or not. the fireworks are surround and I guess best seen from directly in front of the castle if you want the symmetry. Personally they are spectacular from anywhere you can see the actual fireworks. The actual castle was nothing.

Not sure if they are the same still, but a couple years ago the July 4th fireworks were different, and what they called 360 or something, so supposedly they looked the same anywhere in the park. We personally watched from Frontierland. Not sure on the projections, but the fireworks we saw were great, and you could tell that same thing was going on in different areas ,but it was a different than normal show. But that was 3 years ago. So if it was like that, I wouldn’t buy a dessert party that night, since it didn’t matter where you were. Also they did that on both the 3rd and the 4th then. And the place was packed Everywhere in the park.

Looks like the dessert parties went live today, some time after 6:30am, and are all sold out now.

They just added the dessert parties for July 3rd and 4th this morning!

It’s showing dessert parties only available until 6/27 for me, everything else was greyed out.

Unless it was not under the usual party link?

Are you within your 60+10? If so, log out and then log back in to see if it’s available.

Treats and Seats dessert party shows availability and the pre/after parties are available too (July 3 and 4).

Just coming to post the same thing! I got our July 4th Dessert Party reservation!

We don't check in until July 2, bummed it may affect our ability to get dessert party. I guess that means I cannot book until May3?

I still see availability for 6 on July 3rd and 4th. I booked for the 3rd this am. It still says the same enchantment treats and seats. Will this most likely be for the 4th of July fireworks (shown on the 3rd)? Is it normal to have the dessert party look the same as any other night, and then to be confirmed later that it is indeed for the special holiday fireworks?

I'm within my 60 days... it was grey until today, and now it's just saying sold out.
July 3-5 are within my 60+10, and were not blue or clickable until this am. At 5:45 I checked and was able to book seats and treats for 6 people on July 3rd. However, I just checked and it’s still available for 6 people on both July 3rd and 4th.

Here are my photos from treats and seats in February. You can see there is a tree that blocks a decent amount of the castle. For us, it’s worth it to have a guaranteed seat with a view, and we were ok with a pretty good instead of great view. Others vehemently disagree and say they would never watch from this view. We could leisurely eat, eat during the show, and hang out until the crowds dispersed and then leave at our leisure. Im
Hoping to do that again, although this time for the special fireworks on July 3rd 🤞.

Sorry some are sideways, I don’t know how to correct that.
