Anyone going?! :cool1:

I was thinking about just go for that weekend give or take a day or two... :woohoo:

Anyone been during 4th of July before?
How is it?

Thanks! and hope to see some of you there! :thumbsup2

We will be there from 7/2 till 7/7--looking at adding on a few more days! This will be our first time!!!

We went last year (July 4th) and had a great time. With that being said, it was practically body to body crowded and hot. I live here in Florida and have visited the Magic Kingdom 30+ times and have never seen it so crowded.Late at night we noticed guests leaving being routed out behind Main Street, not out the main entrance. I asked a cast member and she said the park had reached capacity and they had stopped letting guests into the park for a while during the late afternoon. I asked what capacity was and she replied that she thought it was about 80,000+. We are going for five days in March but can't rule out going again for the Fourth of July :thumbsup2

We were also there last year, the week of the 4th (have to go when hubby has time off!) This was our 2nd time during that time of the year. We knew what to expect. Busy, hot, but OH, so fun!!! We used early EMH and it worked out perfect for us!!!

It's our first visit for the 4th!

We're arriving on the 2nd, spending three nights at the Contemporary (a convenient walk on the Big Night) and then moving over to the Boardwalk Villas for two weeks.

I'm told that very often, the MK will run its 4th of July extravaganza on the 3rd AND the 4th. So, if it's possible, several people have recommended to me seeing the fireworks there on the 3rd, and then catching the expanded IllumiNations at Epcot on the 4th. We'll see what the schedule permits.

But yeah: I've been warned that it's packed. :scared: Go to the park early, I'm told, and be prepared to never leave.

We were there for the 4th a few years ago. The MK closed early in the afternoon because it had reached capacity. We decided to go to AK for the day, and walked on just about everything ( might be different this year because of EE! ) We went to Epcot that night, and it was crowded, but not too bad. If you are a pin collector, make sure you get out early to get the July 4th pins!

We're going that week for the first time! :Pinkbounc

Hope everyone has a great time!! :goodvibes

We are getting our AP's again this year (after an 18 month lapse) and plan on activating them for a 4th of July visit. We plan on going from 7/1 to 7/9. This will be our first July 4th visit. However we were there over New Year's in 2003/04 so we know what crowds to expect, just not the heat!

See you there!

We'll see you there! We just booked the 1-9th also! We go every year 4th of july and while it is hot and crowded- the parks are open with the longest hours almost daily and for us that makes up for it all. Can't wait!

Have been several times, and we know what to expect. But, because we are once a year visitors, we're not rushed to see everything. We will go when the parks open, see our favs, then head back to the resort. I personally take the route of avoiding EMH and go to opposite parks.

We're there the 2nd through the 9th....We're so excited to be there for the 4th of July, seems like there is nothing more "American" feeling than the 4th at DISNEY!!!!! YEAH!!!!!

We will be there from 7/2-7/15 and it is the first time that we have been in the summer. We are use to crowds since we have been several times at Christmas, just not the heat. We are prepared to do the parks in the morning and then go back to the resort for a relaxing afternoon. We are also staying at CR , which we have never done. My DH has a conference at the CR conference center so we get to stay for free in his room at CR, so we decided to give it a chance. We usually stay at DVC since we are owners, and are not sure how we will like staying in a hotel room again.

Can anyone tell me if EPCOT usually gets to capacity on the 4th? We were thinking about leaving to have dinner at the Beaches & Cream or Cape May Cafe that night but want to make sure that we can get back in for Illuminations.

Have a great trip and maybe we'll see you there!!

We went for my honeymoon in 1994, and actually arrived and checked in on the 4th of July. It wasn't as bad as I had expected. The lines moved quite well, and the pre-shows really made a difference.

Of course, nowadays I prefer going during thanksgiving or around THIS time of year, but I honestly had no complaints during that time.

We were there this past July 4th! DH and I saw MK fireworks on the 3rd. They were great. On the 4th, we were in Epcot and actually got to see MGM's at 9 p.m. (they were "above" the American Pavillion and then we saw EPCOT's at 10. I think they were the best of all! Wonderful ending! We stayed at OKW and actually got to see Pleasure Island's from our balcony! MGM's and PI's were purely luck.

Epcot was very crowded! We got there after our 4:20 AR at Olivia's, so maybe around 6ish. We just did SE and U of E. Also the Norway boatride.

It was VERY hot--no breeze. We picked a spot and waited for a LONG time. Bring a small towel or something to sit on. Lightening started and I'm a wimp, so we ended up losing our spot and waiting in the outdoor eating area of Norway. Came out and joined the crowd when the fireworks started. Unfortunately, my view was obstructed.
The fireworks were worth it all, however! My kids were amazed (18, 16, 14, 11). We're not in a rush to go back in the summer heat, but the fireworks for the 4th were enough to bring me back again in the future.
