July 4 Fireworks: MK or Epcot?

I know everyone seems to cater to the epcot fireworks for the 4th of July. I've seen the shows on video there for the fourth before. However, even with the show being so good, does the Magic Kingdom do a big show? I know they do perimeter fireworks but are there special fireworks behind the castle that they do?

I figured most like Epcot because they serve alcohol and it's more festive.

However, I dont drink and would love to see the show in MK if it's as good as Epcot's.

I can't wait to hear the answers to your question... we watched the fireworks at MGM last year, and I thought they were just ok. This year I was thinking of watching MK's but I keep going back and forth because I hear how good Epcot's are...

I would go to Epcot just to avoid the packed crowd at MK.

I really enjoy the Epcot fireworks. The only way to get into MK for the fireworks is to get there REALLY early since the park always seem to close that day.

I do MGM and then power walk to Epcot. I don't get a front row view for Illuminations, but the special fireworks are all overhead so it's fun!

Thanks for all of your insight. However, getting there early is not a problem, and I'm really not worried about crowds that night.

Ive seen the fireworks on video from Epcot for the 4th of July. Yes they are awesome, but they seem to always bee mostly low level pyrotechnics.

What are the fireworks at MK like on the 4th of July?
