July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

Wow I am jeolous with all the upgrades and document receipts -- nothing for us -- although we are already in category 6 and probably not much room for upgrade!! My TA will get my documents but has not yet -- already checked! Dylan and I are on vacation now. My family has a house in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina (Outer Banks) right on the beach! The weather has been beautiful but really hot!!! After the cold and snowy winter it is a nice change. Can't believe the cruise is coming up -- I guess booking two years ago makes for a long wait!!!

Finally booked our London hotel (post-cruise)! Sheraton Park Lane.

Got two new suitcases (carry-ons with back pack straps).

I think everything is purchased!! Just counting down the days ... fortunately 7/2-7/5 we will be at Disney World for a little pre-cruise Disney action.

The reason I bought hot pink dress for the wedding for 10 July and I should be wearing purple dress with purple hat but discovered that I bought wrong size pair of shoes so I had to change quickly to hot pink dress...

I will take both to the cruise for formal dress but without hats I have handbands of flowers maybe I take that ....

or wait to see if sales on as I spot one dress I really like but sometime when on sales go varnish quickly...

I didn't get upgrade too... anyway my brother in law stayed in North Carolina for 6 to 12 months and he came home because didnt get visa for work and he went back for a week last month... I will ask him where about. as he love there which is a great shame...

I booked it for 18 months and cannot believe next month...

Kids finish school next week Thursday

We have a lovely weather here for a week

Anyone staying at the Novotel Barcelona City Centre and booked the advance purchase special rate you might want to check if the payment went through. I had read on tripadvisor that people were getting emails a day or 2 prior saying they needed to pay or the reservation would be cancelled.

I emailed the hotel and they said there were issues with some reservations and that I needed to pay, so I took care of that as I did not want any emails after we left home. Not sure if they would actual cancel the reservation, but I did not want to test it.

My husband is off today to get letter notarized for me to take the girls out of Canada without him(been asked for it 2 of 6 trips). We had friends, single father and daughter fly to Toronto from London with no letter from the mom and were not allowed into Canada, my worst nightmare the girls would be so sad. That is the last important thing on my to do list, now time for all the other things.

Docs came today. Yippeeee! Cant believe there are only 36 days left. I have the novotel waterloo reserved for London, but getting ready to cancel because I booked, and pre paid for, the Victoria Park Plaza. Four star hotel in the middle of everything for about the same price with breakfast package.

Up and posting early for me (it is 6:45am UK time) as i am off to work AGAIN (that is four days out of five this week and my contract is one day!) but I don't mind as yesterday and today I am working on the welcome mural with small groups of children so not in the classroom with a whole class all day!

FIVE weeks! That seems really close now. I feel like I can actually justify starting to get everything organised. I gave my Dad our departure and return times so he has them on the calender. This weekend I am going to start sorting clothing and amending my packing lists but I won't have a whole heap of time as we are taking our oldest daughter to an over night camp at her school from Saturday until Sunday and then she has a party to go to on Sunday afternoon - I really hope it is a "drop them off and pick them up later" party as it is at 3:30pm - 5:30pm and England kick off against Germany at 3pm!!!

Anyway, got to go and get my lunch ready to take to work. Have a great day everyone.

Just spotted your post. It looks amazing but I know it is massive and would need several trips. One of my "one day" trips is the Trans Canada railway but there are so many bit I want to do. We are waiting until the girls are a bit older as we will probably do a 3 week touring trip there one summer but at the age my kids are I am happier just hopping aboard DCL where I know exactly what will be available in terms of facilities, entertainment and food each night. Touring and road or rail trips will have to wait a while!

You dont need anything like that here...which is sometimes problematic...esp. if parents are seperated or divorced, and one has legal custody. several children have been 'kidnapped' by parents who are not British Nationals and taken overseas. In the Uk, an unmarried father has very little in the way of parental rights unless he goes to court. Until very recently they had none. I had a row only last week with the grandmother of a patient who got really cross when i couldnt let er son ( babies dad) sign a surgery consent form But at that point he had no legal rights over the child. Causes no end of greif sometimes!

Mel...you dont need it to take your girls into Canada.

Oh dear I need to find out about the hotel and I am trying to find paperwork...

and I never heard about the letter for travel... must be Canada's law?

and for next year we should go to Canada then we decided booked Orlando and now heard disney cruise go to Canada etc... but again May is not good for us... so we are going to Orlando in April 2011 but again we are struggle to book the flights as it is very expensive ... we are still looking at this week...

Canada is a beautiful place and hope one day we will visit....

On Sunday I am off to OAP bus trip with my mother's in law (her club) so I am glad my friend is coming with me go to Pebbles for the day... so I won't watch football England (sorry) but my husband will watch it

I guess the ship is filling up - cat 12 rate no longer advertised for our cruise. Still showing cat 12 available for the 3 August Med cruises but ours is back to cat 11 @ $5935 for 2A 2C...
