July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

What am i doing this weekend.
well...for me the weekend starts today...as i have now finished work for the week:banana:
not that that is always a good thing.:scared1:
For a kick off ( no football pun actually intended:laughing:)...I will be doing Laundry:eek:...the bane of my life. We are a family of 4...with esentially all adult sized stuff. about a year ago i decided that i would no longer do my childrens laundry. I figured they where big and ugly enough to sort themselves out...use the washing machine...iron etc etc. I used to help my mum when i was younger...and with a lot less technology...so why not! BIG MISTAKE!
unlike me, my daughters have total tolerance for piles of laundry lying around. unless they actually want to wear something they see no value in washing or ironing:scared1:...so consequencially my house has turned into something left over after a jumble sale...except when i crack and wash and iron it all. And today good people, i have cracked!:headache:

So thats probably the next 2 /3 days spoken for:mad:
As for the actual weekend..we will be camping with a load of :dance3:'weirdos' ( i dont use that term loosly let me tell you). We are Scouters and took part in a support capacity in a Gangshow earlier this year. This weekend is Gangshow reunion camp:sad2:. When i said we'd go..i think i was drunk...and it seemed like a good idea at the time. I have bailed slightly, in that i am only going on Saturday night now...some excuse about my eldest DD being in the middle of her GCSEs ( wll if she can use it, so can I)..but DH is there all weekend...as I also, in an uncharacteristic drunken moment of goodwill,:idea:agreed to lean the 'Gangshow committee' some kit. So my Marquee...Mess tent....gas cookers and a shedload of sundry kitchen equipment is now in a field in rural Staffordshire:guilty:
I am sure it will all be fine.

Hi Maza - I used to love going to the Gangshows! Rural staffordshire? You can't be a million miles from me then - we are in Newcastle-under-Lyme...
It's funny isn't it, wherever you end up you always meet someone from on your doorstep! :)

I'm travelling with my 16 year old daughter too, it's her last exam tomorrow - thank heavens!

We are not:rotfl: It is ,indeed, a small world after all!
Until last year i worked at UHNS..i still pop in occassionally...and Trentham Gardens is my second home
DD still has a couple of weeks left. 2 more exams this week ,1 next and 1 the week after. I am sure it was much simpler in my day:laughing:

Also noticed that the Aug 7, 11 night med cruise has some great CAT 12 rates for those of you who can extend your vacation.

Wish I could.

Arghh Lisa - don't do this to me! I have been looking for this for a while. We are both teachers so the vacation time is not the issue. I worked out that the cost of the 8 night and the 11 night at cat 12 rates is still around what I originally booked the 8 night for. We could just about do it but there wouldn't be a lot left in the kitty for excursions which are a bit more costly on the 11 nighter I think (less DIY options)... Will have a chat to DH tonight and see what he thinks!

You might get a good bargain. Didn't I read somewhere that people were being offered an extra week for $349 or did I dream it?

Sue

We are throwing the idea around tonight. Trouble is, I have it in my head that 2012 will be either the Baltic or a new European itinerary and I have been squiralling money away from my supply teaching to start saving for it. Now if we spend the money I saved so far on the 11 night Med we will have a fabulous cruise this year but come October I could be kicking myself if the cruise I *really* want to do is announced. On the other hand, the 11 nighter is a steal at $3630 for my family... decisions decisions!

Hello!!! *waves* I'll be joining the fun as well! I can't wait!!!! :rotfl: I'm soo excited. It's going to be amazing.

..... then again, it is a Disney cruise.

Hi there,

With the Magic in Europe it is hard to stay away, we are booked for the REPO Dover to Barcelona and then returning to do the WBTA without our daughter although we booked 2 cabins as we are treating my sister.

Shout when the docs and cabin asignments are listed, how do you know about GTY bookings?

You sound just like me! July 30 with DD, then when she returns to college I'll do the WBTA as a solo.

Documents are available on line now; you can complete your onboard check in. GTY cabin assignments usually come out 30-45 days before sailing. Translation: soon but not just yet. As to how you know, when you go on line to look up your ressie, it will always say Cat 12 gty, but if you look up the stateroom number, you may have a pleasant surprise.

And....as to amazing cat 12 rates for the Aug 7 sailing...this is the second time this summer DCL has released rates that I'd jump on AFTER I had purchased non-refundable air fare. Oh well.

Why? I have not received mine yet!:sad1::sick:popcorn::

OK I know I should be doing some housework but ..

Our tickets to Buckingham Palace arrived today. So much fun for the kids (and me) to receive a package from the Queen! We ordered the Family Day Out Tickets. I also purchased the souvenier brochure for Buckingham Palace and the Royal Mews. They both have lots of information and lovely pictures. Great to look at before we leave. Thank you for posting the link to get tickets on this thread! We are spending 4 nights at Dukes London pre-cruise. It looks like a fabulous hotel. The cruise is coming up so fast!

We decided on just the Royal Mews, as we are doing it the day we arrive and was not sure we would be up for a 2 hour tour. I put down that we would pick up the tickets there but I should have requested the mail option so we could get mail from the Queen oh well next time.

I just have a mental picture of the Queen sitting at a desk sending out all these letters...'oh look Philip...I'm a stamp!' lol

:cheer2: :cheer2: 7 WEEKS TO GO :cheer2: :cheer2:

:yay::cool1: UNTIL THE ENGLAND TO ESPANA CRUISE :cool1::yay::banana:

:thumbsup2  :woohoo:DCL HERE WE COME!!! :woohoo:  :thumbsup2

The weeks are going past so quickly now and with the World Cup on which is a big thing in our house hold the next 4 weeks will also go by quickly I expect.

After lots of umming and ahhing we are almost certainly not going to book the 11 night Med as an add on. I just can't shake the thought that we might regret it if we then can't afford to do the cruise I am hoping for in 2012. Of course if the cat 12 rate stays available and I get offered some extra work between now and the end of term I might reconsider.... I hate making big decisions!

I got told off tonight in our house for being excited about the World Cup. A little light relief at the moment is necessary. Those Uk teachers with visits from government offices would understand! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

My oldest dd told me yesterday that her teacher is on his ipod whenever the class does not listen to him and I wondered how long before he gets in trouble, something similar but with soccer?:sad2:
