July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Okay I wait until 90 days to book Palo but I am not bother as I know half keep on the cruise anyway...

Scottishwee35

So, true.. I comfortably booked dinner, brunch and high tea on this years' Presidents Week cruise at 90 days ...we needed to change two of these booking when on board and comfortably did so 2 days into the cruise !! ...so no need to panic I feel..though its nice to have them planned ahead.
Also, there's likely to be a higher proportion of 'first time' European cruisers on this cruise.. I would have thought, many of which will not know anything about booking Palo and/or won't be eligible at 90 days.

RJAYL -Gosh 120 day mark !!! I can't believe it has come round already !!...that has given me a bit of a wake up call this morning !

Could someone kindly remind me exactly when final payment is due.....I've just not been paying too much attention given that our exchange rate has been so low recently. :headache:

I think it's around the 14th May. We've been holding off to see if the exchange rate improves but we decided to make a payment this weekend (I think Donald was worried I spend the money on shoes if he didn't shift it :rotfl:) We got a better rate than our bank was quoting - about $1.46 to £.

I still hold my money until final payment by 15 May!! as exchange rate drop to 1.50 (fairfx.com)... I won't pay it until 15 May.. or if exchange rate get better I will pay it all off...

On 2008, PC exchange rate was 2.00 dollars until we came home and find out money credit crunch...:sad2:

Yes and you are all over the threads!:lmao:
With all the time you are on the last Baltic thread, you might as well book a cruise it is not to late you know!, Maybe they will extend the kids sail free promotion to our cruise once we past the penalty phase!

I was listening to the Dis & that is what DCL did they waited untill the first 2 Baltics hit the penalty phase & then offered the incentive!
That way people would not cancel & rebook!:headache:

I have the same dream of Scottishwee35, but getting that much time off work is just not possible, so I am now looking into doing a 7 day Baltic cruise next May on RCCL, Vision of the Seas. It will not be the same as DCL, but the cost is less than $500 per person for an inside room, and I can actually get the time off work.

Not sure if ticking off your loyal passengers who book years in advance is a smart move, they will need to come up with some price guarantee rates like other cruise lines have, or everyone will just wait till the last minute to book.

Same problem, I can't take more than 12 days off total, so 11 and 12 days cruises are hard to schedule in.

If they did the offer on the last Baltic cruise of Kids sail free i would be tempted to switch my reservation but I doubt i would because although it would make the cruise itself more affordable our dover to Barcelona cruise is very DIY able in terms of excursions and that equals cheaper - I so want to go on the Baltic cruise but we just wouldn't be able to run to the sort of money they want for the "must do" excursions, for example the Royal Ball - that excursion alone would more than blow my entrie excursion budget for the cruise we are doing!

So I think I will NOT be looking if the offer comes up once the penalty date arrives for the last Baltic cruise... Fingers in ears... La La La La not listening!! LOL

As per my signature I am saving for a Big cruise in 2012 - hopefully either Baltic or Eastern Med on the Magic but we will see!

Has anyone looked into transportation options in Barcelona? We are staying 1 night after the cruise( Novotel City Centre), so we will need transportation port to Hotel and then to the airport the next day. Reading other threads seems taxi prices seem to be all over the map.

Some people say 30 E to the airport , others are saying, 60E to airport from city hotels, so I imagine it will be somewhere in that range.

Taxi's are waiting at the port terminal, and on the Med Cruise in 2007 we payed about € 30,- to get to the airport.

Evening all, just popping in to say hi! It has all gone a bit quiet on here. Hopefully we will get a bit more chatty as the cruise gets closer!

Good Morning/Afternoon

Our early summer has gone away, and back to normal spring weather:eek:, we so could get used to wearing shorts and flip flops all the time.

Lisa

I am dreaming of shorts and flip flops, it is cold and grey here in the UK. I love it when it gets warm and i can live in my flip flops for a few months!

Had flip flops on all day yesterday too Mel .. even ventured out into the garden!! :cool1:

My little guinea pigs went out for the first time this year and could be heard wheeking very loudly from my lounge!! They had a field day but it's not so warm here today so they can stay indoors for now!

Oh guinea pigs. We went on a trip last summer and my oldest daughter fell in love with guinea pigs at this petting farm, and we had to go back a second time and could not get her to leave. She would so love to have one, but not sure our dog would like them.:confused3

That is right about 30 to 35, but from port to hotel might be less...as plenty taxis at port, we did looking for big taxis for all of us but we end up with two taxis...
