:thumbsup2  :woohoo:DCL HERE WE COME!!! :woohoo:  :thumbsup2

Morning All!

Today my oldest DD turned 5 years old. Can't believe how the time has flown since she was born!

We had one party yesterday, another tomorrow and a day out today to go get a new bike and then a family dinner later. So busy day but I had to come and post... EIGHT WEEKS. that's just 8 SHORT WEEKS! Woo Hoo....

In the next 2 - 4 weeks we should start seeing us GTY's turning to assigned rooms, lets hope the upgrade fairy is smiling on our little group :)

Have a great weekend everyone, I won't be around much due to excessive amounts of birthday celebrations, but hey, it's a big deal when you are five!

Cogratulations on the weight loss! I know it probably wasn't easy. I am back down to my lowest weight which I was at three years ago before our first Med Cruise. Didn't put much weight on then as although we ate a lot we walked alot in the different ports so it balanced out!!
I have been slowly putting some of the weight back on over the years but decided I better get serious!!

Can't believe it is getting so close. I have been busy getting ready for the family beach trip in two weeks. We have a house on the beach on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. They I get serious for the cruis!! Have a great weeikend!

Unfortunately, we have had to pull out of the Dover to Barcelona cruise due to some family issues. We had planned on spending a few days in London prior to the cruise and purchased 3 tickets to Billy Elliott for the evening of July 28th at the Victoria Palace Theatre. If anyone is interested in the tickets, please respond to me privately. I would hate for them to go to waste.

So sorry to hear that as I was looking forward to having someone else from the Washington area on the ship!

Hi All
Hope all the Brits are enjoying the weather (while it lasts!)

I was wondering, for those of you who have done Med cruises before, If we are tipping in cash, do we pay in $ or Euro's? I like to have this sorted before we go so I know how much is left to spend!

Euros Dollars or Pounds I am sure all will be greatly accepted!:lmao:;)

I would tip in whatever was most cost effective for yourself as we all know every time you change money you loose! ::yes::

Totally agree with your statement about loosing money when you change it from one currency to another. Personally we would use CC as the exchange rate does tend to be better. Last time we added extra in the $ we had remaining.

Gosh another beautiful day here in Yorkshire! Had a rainstorm last night but it has cleared up beautifully. Going to the grand opening of the residential home where Dad is now living. Kevin Webster from Corrie (a long running british soap) is opening it. Dad is a big Corrie fan so he'll be :yay: with his zimmer!

7 weeks and 6 days to go........anyone would think I was counting :rolleyes1

Hi everyone, anyone started with a packing list already?
We still have to go look for new suitcases, go looking for the FE gifts, and i'll start making our doorsigns! :upsidedow

Hi

nice weather here as I waited all day for man to come measure the kitchen floor, finally he arrived recently...

I missed my daughter tournament at football today... Ian texted she won and lost in games and she scored goals too... :sad2: I missed that..

never mind I am sorting out kids clothes which are too small and give away to charity and some go to ebay:rolleyes1

FE gifts - not yet...

lanyards - done...:thumbsup2

doorsigns - almost finish, need print out

packing - not yet... but start sorting out kids clothing...

Hi everyone! My family and I are on this cruise as well. We did do one of the Med cruises a few years ago and had a great time. Hoping for more of the same, and are very excited about the ports on this repositioning itinerary!

It will be DH and I and our two boys age 11 and 7 in cat 9.

We are interested in DIS meets and possibly lanyards.

Oh, and we haven't started packing yet - there's still a lot happening between now and then including a family wedding the weekend before we head for London. It will be an adventure!

We are packing light, so yesterday I was just putting some tee shirts in one of the suitcases to see how much I can fit, youngest thought the large suitcase would be good for hers and me and my oldest dd could share the smaller one:rolleyes1

We will be doing laundry so should be able to do it. Will take an extra bag for the return trip home.

For those of you from the UK, what can we expect for temperatures in Dover. Will we be able to survive with shorts and maybe a pair of capris, would prefer not to pack pants? My youngest reminded me that we did not go swimming at all in March on the Wonder as it was so cold . I imagine Barcelona will be hot, does it get humid there?

For those staying at the Novotel, I did not realize it is accross the street from a large shopping centre.:rotfl2:

Recital number 2 coming up and my ballet daughters bun was not up to standards last night. The ballet teacher was not impressed, so we must do better today.

Barcelona is hot but not humid. Parc Guell is a must see but is very hot, dusty and dry, especially the view over the city. Take plenty of water!

With regard to the temperatures in Dover in July it can really vary. Last week we had 13 degrees C today 24. I would recommend checking a 10 day forecast prior to packing to give you a general idea. ukweather.com is one such site.
