July 28, 2007 - Romeancing the Mouse in the Med Cruise Reunion thread!

Congrats on the pirate: Lynnise!

Hey Helen, are you aware that my baby (DD23-Tara) is in "your neck of the woods!".......She'll be there until about June 14th........she's studying Advertising in the company, Saatchi & Saatchi.......she hasn't mentioned the weather but she does love London!!!:worship:

Hope all is going well, Maryann!!!

Thanks for the good wishes, JoAnn. Aside from spending 4 hrs in the emergency room last night (the rehab place sent her to emergency because her blood potassium level was 10 - (5 or less is normal). It turned out to be an error and they send her back no worse for wear. We, on the other hand, slept only about 3 hrs. So DH & I are going out for dinner and will have some "very nice red wine" - Right Helen?

Love,
M

Sorry things are still so crazy, Maryann -- I hope things settle down with your mother.

You know, guys, the more I deal with other meet threads on the Dis the more I realize what a special, special group we had -- let's not forget it!

We are all fine, thank you for asking, Joann . . . the middle one leaves on a 2 day class trip to Cornell today to do things related to their study of astronomy, so she is excited.

We saw "Cry baby" in previews and thought it was very funny and enjoyable . . . I think it opens next week.

You guys are the best! We did enjoy the wine and we both koncked out about 9 pm. Guess we needed that!

You're right Julie. We do have something special here.:grouphug:

Hi Everyone,

We had a great visit in South Carolina with our dd, son-in-law and grandsons. We had great weather (would have sent you some sunshine, Helen if I could, but by now I hope you have warmer days!) We did some cruise planning. Liz and David are really exicted and so are we as it will be the first time we have had a vacation together!:rotfl:

We did not get to see Lynnise, but we did get to talk to her which was almost as good.:cool1:

Maryann, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. We surely can understand the late night ER calls. Garry's mom has been in a nursing home for two years now and we never know when they will call or for what reason. I have always said our greatest blessing is our health, both physical and mental.

Julie, you are so right about our board. Try as I might I just can't get with the November board. They are not like we were. I keep thinking that one year before we sailed we knew each other so well and had so many plans. It was all so much fun. Garry was just telling someone today about what a wonderful trip and all of the great people on the cruise. I am looking forward to November to be with Liz and David and Jan and Howie, but I don't have high hopes for any exciting things from people on the board like the fun we all had together. I am spoiled!:rolleyes1

JoAnn, how exciting for your daughter to be working in London. I will be anxious to see your pictures from Germany. How are your Mom & Dad?

Happy Spring!

The thing that I truly realize over time is how well we all got along . . . when we made plans everyone was just onboard -- there were no complaints, no "we have to do it this way" or anything! It wasn't just the friendliness, it was how easy we all seemed to make it, too!

     to all of you:love:

Could not help wondering if Sallie had seen the Pope in New York. He seems to have forgotten his propeller hat!

I agree Julie, I think we all took a laid back approach, if you wanted to do something great, if not, no problem! I really enjoyed having so many familiar faces to say hello....that was really cool. We were like a family with no ties. I was just thinking, "Bummer, this time last year, our excitement was mounting and we were making our Palo ressies, staying up until midnight and creating our logo and tshirts.....how much fun was that!

Too funny, Harole Ann......I forgot about all that!:thumbsup2 :worship:

Meredith (the 10 year old) is studying ancient Rome in her history class now and wanted to take some pictures in from Pompeii and Rome . . . as I looked through pictures with her I really had a bittersweet feeling, that it was going to be hard if not impossible to ever surpass that trip!

It seems like Tom & I always see something that reminds us of the trip, whether its music in an Italian restaurant, a "very nice red wine" we're drinking, or a picture that reminds us of a place we went on the trip. Then we always say at least once, "that was the trip of a lifetime". Although the trip was spectacular, so were the wonderful friends we made. It's hard to separate the two. I think that although we would have had a wonderful time anyway, there is a special place in my heart for all my DIS friends that made it extra-special . That's the pixie dust that made it "the trip of a lifetime":lovestruc

Hi all,

You guys are so right. I think the group of people we met on that cruise was really special. Everyone was so friendly and laid back. I mean just how big was our meet in the prom lounge - and noone complained. I still laugh when I see paper airplanes and think of the poor cm who was going to give a talk, when we invaded.
It was fun sitting round on deck, chatting. I really appreciated it, travelling with Dave can be hard :lmao: only joking, what I mean is he likes to go off to the gym, run round the jog track and he normally can't keep still, where I like to chillout with a book, or lie in the sun. Having you guys on board was great, I wasn't left alone and I had people to talk too.
Dave and I are really down at the mo, as we arn't coming to the states this year. We spent yesterday planning our holidays until 2011 ( ok it was me really) We are going to see how loing we can get my dad to look after the dogs for next year- hopefully 3 weeks.
Here's our thinking
2009 - Trip to NY, WDW and 7night Eastern cruise
2010 - I have a feeling DCL will come to the med again - especially with them opening a new office in London in 2009. We'll do that! - Anyone up for it?;)
2111 - 2 week trip to WDW (FL) Although might have to try a 4 night cruise on one of the new ships if available.
How sad am I,
:rolleyes1
Oh well it's only 15 months till my next disney holiday
:grouphug:

Ok Some questions for the new yorkers

Where is the best place to buy tickets for a broadway show?

Ok Some questions for the new yorkers

Is it easy to flag down a taxi? Never done that before ever;)

Ok Some questions for the new yorkers

What is the top 5 things to do?

Ok the questions were genuine -but I must confess I saw a pirate coming - Old habits die hard
:rolleyes1
