Hi everyone,
Just got home from the hospital. My dh came home from work today and was experiencing severe chest pains. Five hours later - he is okay. He did have a heart attack. Apparently he has had a few silent ones before and his heart/muscle is damaged. They put a stent in on the main artery which was completely clogged and the other two arteries that are not as clogged will try medication. If medication does not work, two more stents. He is very lucky to be alive and thank God it did not happen a few weeks ago on the cruise. He "might" be home Friday. This is a person who never go to a doctor. We will learn now from this wake up call.
I haven't yet stooped to shorts, but this last couple of days, I was tempted (I actually had them on, but I took them off!) I work for public school, but it was NEVER this tough in the past.....................Yes. My son works in a public high school and they can wear a short sleeve shirt and tie. The students have wool jackets and ties, both boys and girls. It really is an equalizer but on hot days, I wish we could wear shorts!!!!![]()

I agree,HA, our group was so special............however, I also agree about vacationing with your kids and family...........we were able to be with our "older kids" and "Rents" this trip..........that made it very special.......I'm now hoping to do at least one "family vacay" every year..................Anna---I am so glad you got your dh to the hospital. We went thru the same thing just about this same time last year. My dh was having severe chest pain and after two trips to the emergency room and a normal stress test they finally did a heart cath and found he needed four stents. I know how you feel. It is a very frightening situation. Please know you are all in my prayers.![]()
We just returned from our dd's home in South Carolina. I think she and her husband may be going with us on our cruise in November of next year! We just mentioned it at dinner one night and I think it really lit a spark! Our son-in-law is really excited about going, but not half as much as I am. It would mean so much to me if they would go with us! I am keeping my fingers crossed!![]()
Whatever itinerary Disney comes up with for 2009 will be hard to top the vacation we just experienced. Not only the trip, but the friendships that were part of the trip! We will just have to wait and see what will come our way next!
Sweet dreams, everyone!![]()
Finally orgainsed for 2008, booked my flights today, this time BA to USA, not Virgin, going club world. Leave the new Heathrow terminal 5 to LAX, and return Orlando Gatwick.
Congrats on arranging your flights! We like JetBlue, which doesn't release until about 6 months out, so I don't have to think about that for a while.

BA is 11 months out, Virgin 10 months, needed to organise as have to get the kids back to school quickly after cruise, Virgin didnt play ball, so I am off with BA.
I get to LAX earlier so hopfully can get into the DL park on the first evening.
You are so ahead of the game. My cruise is in May and I haven't thought about flights. Then again my stuff is domestic, so I can wait awhile.
That's exciting....one step closer!!Finally orgainsed for 2008, booked my flights today, this time BA to USA, not Virgin, going club world. Leave the new Heathrow terminal 5 to LAX, and return Orlando Gatwick.

Hello everyone,
Sorry it's been awhile since I've been posting. Back to school is such a busy time for me, as it is for everyone. We also have a dresscode but our school is airconditioned so it's not really a problem except for getting used to getting dressed up everyday by 6:30 am.![]()
HaroleAnn, I was praying for you on 9/11 since you weren't too excited about flying then. I'm glad to hear that your daughter and her family are considering going cruising with you next year. You'll have a wonderful time. Also, glad to hear you got back safely. In some ways it's probably the safest day to fly.
We booked our flights for the cruise in Feb. Very expensive but what are you going to do, we got a great discount on the cruise by booking onboard but all the savings was taken up by the increase in the airfare. It's too hard for the kids to take time off from school now that they are in high and jr. high school, and I work at the school too. So school vacations are the only times we can really go. I know we'll have a great time.
We are so spoiled by the DisBoard group on our Med trip. There really isn't anyone on the boards for the 2/16 trip. It's kind of disappointing. We were hoping for Lilly to be able to connect with someone her age before we leave.
Is there actually a reunion trip being planned for 2009. We'd love to be able to book from onboard in Feb. Please let us know.
Have a great weekend,
Sandra
