CONGRATS SALLIEP!

Although, who knew Dan was lurking??? Laying in wait? Springing at almost the right time.

I gave salliep a whipped cream and icing fluffy flavored assist.

Congratulations---Sallie---I think the picture did it!! Way to go!!:cheer2:

P. S. When that tag fairy finishes packing your suitcases, would you please send her to my house?? It does not look good here:sad2:

Congrats on the pirate, Sallie! Sorry, Susy and Dan and Harole Ann . . .

:surfweb: Thanks, Julie, but we gave it a good try!:wizard: I am sure Andrew will love your quote---it just may awaken him from a good night's sleep!

We also have a 5 yr old son. Tell us a little about yourself, where you are from, your cruise plans, excursions, etc.

Welcome to a great group!

Susy

hi Susy,
My name is Lynn: (39, ok- actually I just turned 40 last week, having a bit of denial). Originally from NY,lived in LA for 9 years, now we are up in Northern CA near Palo Alto. Former stylist/personal shopper. Now a event planner for a 5 year old. :coffee:
Aidan: (5 yrs old) distant relative to the Energizer Bunny. (I know more about dinosaurs and Pokemon than any woman should have to)
Brendan: (38) Attorney/Writer. And the REAL reason we only take Disney Cruise vacations. He tells everyone we take them for our son.

This is our 3rd Cruise. Our next is the maiden voyage for the 2008 Mexican Riviera.

I haven't planned too many excursions for the Med cruise. We have always just kinda played it by ear.
So far:
Palermo for Kids
Coda Cavallo Beach (Sardinia)
In Rome we hired a private car service to take us around for the day.
Florence On Your Own
Eagles in Beaucaire (Marseilles)

Then after we debark, we head to Ireland for 5 days.

Tell me about your plans. More importantly, does your son like dinosaurs? :)

Sallie, I see a major new literary event -- "Sallie's guide to the Dis: Everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask" . . . . when does it come out?
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

When did our shopping serena found something she just HAD to get for Carley.

Thanks again for organizing.

Thank you, but truly- you didn't have to, it was our pleasure- Carley went shopping today, got Chloe all sorts of things- but was very picky about Serena- she says she needs to "look around some more" She was so funny reading the suggested ages on the boxes... and looking for kids serena's age.
this had been a great experience for her- when ever children (as well as adults) get the opportunity to think about others- they become giving, emphatic, loving, and strong adults. I know she will be a better person because of the experiences here and on the cruise.

I have the medical condition called "Andrew's Syndrome" -- premature pirate posting (I can't wait for him to read that tomorrow!).

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

If some of are still thinking about the fish extender- I 'm just finishing the one we started about 3 weeks ago and havent had the time to finish- We used the thin sheets of Foamies and work great for making the pockets. We just folded a foamie in half, used a paper punch to make holes up the side, and then used ribbon to sew up the sides- its really easy and the foamies are only 79 cents in Michael's or AC Moore !

Well, I hope it doesn't do that -- he needs his sleep. But it probably will make him laugh.

Welcome to the group!

If you want to sign your son up for the kid swap, salliep was looking for one more match, I think. You bring a gift for another child (15-20 dollars) and another child brings one for your child.

There is also a gift bag swap, you bring a bag that has something from your home area and swap with another family.

We have alot in common!

- I also turned 40 once. Well, not this year.

- I have lived in LA for 9 years. Well, 39 actually, but there's a nine in there.

- My husband is from Northern California, he grew up in Walnut Creek, and all his relatives are still around that area, Concord, Antioch, etc.

- My 5 year old is a first cousin to the energizer bunny. His life goals are to be a race car driver and a rock star. And he LOVES Dinosaurs. We actually visited a really great Dinosaur museum in Utah last week called "Thanksgiving Point". Dash never got into the pokeman thing, I'm not sure he even knows what that is. He loves Star Wars, all sports, High School Musical, video games and his ipod. We also have an 8 year old son and a 2 1/2 year old daughter.

- We go to Disneyland alot, WDW once a year (for eleven years now - the first year we went we were just dating and had no kids so that tells you everything right there), and this is our third DCL cruise. We did the western caribbean in 2000, the mexican rivieria last year - I highly reccommend the swim with the dolphins!

- On this cruise we are not doing too many big excursions, we don't want long days for the kids and we have been to Europe alot. We also have a private car in Rome and some of the other ports as well.

- This board is alot of fun and a great way to "meet" people before the cruise. I was on the boards for our mexico cruise and met so many nice people on board - I met an awesome woman that makes scrapbooks and she made us a scrapbook from our trip!

Feel free to ask questions, everybody was a newbie here once.

:woohoo:

That is so sweet! I hope Carley understands the significance of lime green as a color choice! Serena is 2 1/2 going on 12 (because she has two older brothers), she loves stickers, stamps, anything sparkly, barettes or anything for her hair, anything that seems like a princess would like it or use it. ;)

And sallie, you never answered my question about music, did you? I'm going to order from amazon and send direct to my cousin...as soon as I get some suggestions for a 12 year old! Julie gave me some good ideas also.

Thanks,

Susy

Travelocity story continues

Okay, had another big fight this week with Travelocity about the $6,000 credit for my cancelled airline tickets for this cruise. OH I WAS MAD!! :headache: :headache:

I looked up the website and found out who the president was and I wrote an e-mail to firstname.lastname@travelocity.com and it was HER e-mail address!! I just did it to get some of the mad off my chest and she got my e-mail and e-mailed me right back. I now have some top executive working on my credit and I will post the e-mail she sent me back.
Lisa

This is my email address, and we’d love to look into this right away and resolve the issue. You have my apologies it’s been frustrating, but by copy to our senior care team, someone will look into this right away. We will work through this with you and hope to win your trust back.

I have no idea if this is your e-mail address or not, but your company has lied to me and let me down 4 times on one travel experience.

TRIP ID #’s 668771746665 and 738081787187.

I have told everyone I know never to use Travelocity

Did anyone ever hear from Mary Jo as to how she made out with her son's passport? I have been thinking about her ever since I read her post.:surfweb:

mary jo posted earlier saying that she was on her way to texas and she would give us details later. it didn't sound good, but hopefully it will work out.

Well, don't back down, and I know you won't! They are not easy to deal with. We had just a hotel reservation and when we got to the hotel the sign in the window said "no pets". We booked the hotel because the web site said "pets allowed". The hotel was quick to refund my money and even booked another hotel that allowed pets. The refund was less than what Travelocity charged me, and it was a fight to the finish, but I finally got it, and like you I won't use them again! I was :hyper2: really angry and very happy that I had all of my receipts. You don't need this now! Try to stay calm---it will work out, just keep telling yourself that, and remember you have lots of friends thinking about you. :grouphug:

Thanks, Lynnise I must have missed that when I was trying to ketchup!
