Dan can you pm me your email and I will just send an updated version directly to you on Friday nite. Or I guess I could just send to MaryJo and let her post it on page 1 and then you can download from there.

Everyone, I'm taking updates to the guide through Friday nite. After that, I will have MaryJo post the final pdf on page 1.

It's redundant, but you could put bellelinus down for "Private and on your own" for every port, but you don't have to.

I'm having Palo dinner in the private room with bridegirl on July 31 at 8:45, and I'm having Palo brunch on the last sea day, Aug. 7, at 11:30.

We're staying at Hotel Continental Palacete (Versailles room) the night of July 27.

But you don't have to put any of these things . . . it's fine. Only update if you feel like doing it. Everything you actually have down about us looks fine.

The PDF of the DIS Guide is here: dis.pdf

I will update it as soon as I hear the original has been updated.

Thanks, Dan, for converting. The guidebook will be great. I need to send you a couple of updates. Primarily, cabin number.

PALOS BRUNCH

I am assuming that everyone who is booked on my Sunday champagne group brunch is still going and a reminder the start time is 10.30am prompt. Suggest you have a light breakie before.

If anyone was to drop out please let me know as I will reconfirm on Saturday 28th in the afternoon on the cruise.

The nominal cost is $10 per person, you get your own bill and can add your own tip. Its really going to be great to be in the private room and I hope all those coming are going to have a great time.

And .....ment in a nice way...

GET STUFFED!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

After the buildup that all of you have given there's no way we're going to miss it.

Can people pm me with changes to the guide posted on page 1. I don't think I will be able to catch anything posted on the thread.

I think we have the most amazing and resourceful group of people on this thread. We are much better than most travel agencies and you certainly can get answers quicker!:thumbsup2

DCL did tell me that they do still have two semi formal nights on the schedule, according to Francesica. I still planned to bring my clothes for those nights regardless!

Found this on another thread:

We felt safe everywhere except the Barcelona airport. Both my DH and I had people try to pick pocket us in the revolving doors at the airport. As we walked towards the transfers from baggage, a huge group of people looked to be waiting on arrivals. I took a picture of the mass of people and the Disney transfer people (I later noticed that the woman that tried to get in my bag was in the picture). We waited about an hour at the airport for our transfer before they had us head outside. While we were at the revolving doors, a woman pushed me so hard I nearly lost my footing. I realized she tried to open my camera bag outside pocket (with only autographs books inside). I turned to glare at her and realized her partner in crime had his bag zipped open and tried to get in my dh's backpack which had an empty outside pocket. My husband felt him and quickly pulled the bag off. The transfer lady asked if we'd just been robbed like it was nothing. She said it happens all the time. DS6 loudly asked dh if he had his gun in his pocket (he's a police officer) and would arrest him. I'm sure they went right back inside the airport. On the way home, dh kept his back pack in front of him. I didn't have anything in the outside pocket but autograph books again, but I was pushed again by someone cutting through the line and the zip tie I had on the outside zippers was taken off while I waited in the VAT return line. No wonder so many people there were paying to have their bags saran wrapped! We were telling our stateroom host the story and she said her friend that was also a stateroom host had her purse stolen with her passport, visa and money on her arrival and had to fly back to Thailand to get new ones issued. Mike at DVC said he saw someone's camera get stolen as she took a picture in Rome and his memory card and battery for his camera were stolen on a crammed bus. Please be careful with your valuables. We saw a couple of shady people get rather too close to tourists while on tours, especially the areas a lot of people look up to glance at like churches. Most of these shady people seemed to either talk or pretend to talk on cell phones and had open bags on their side. The only other thing I saw I was dismayed at was a man at the Trevi Fountain had a magnetic expandable baton he was reaching in to grab out Euros. I told him he was stealing wishes but he didn't even flinch and kept doing it. I had my boys throw their coins as far as they could. He must have had 200 in his pocket and none of the nearby police did anything.

:scared1: :scared1:

Just curious what you do with the saran wrap?

Yuck on the weather - I melt in high temps with humidity (she's melting . . . - Wizard of Oz)
I love hot weather. Humidity not so much but if it's hot I'll take it.

We have late dinner - not sure when to put on the shirts - sailaway party is that night? May bring them with us and put on over our clothes? Any other ideas??

We have late dinner too, have you heard if the service and timing is any better? I remember that the early cruises were running very late and most people missed the sail away party.

Sandra

If the sail away party starts at 10:00 we should be okay. Remember they have staggered dining times so we may have 8:00-8:15 or 8:30.

I made a big mistake yesterday while doing yard work! I emptied a bag of Hershey's cocoa chips for landscaping into a small area near my patio.:rolleyes1 I never thought that Princess Jasmine would be attracted to it! I was so wrong! :woohoo: The smell could make you just melt and I am sure she feels the same, but every time she goes out now, she stops to take a nibble of cocoa! I know chocolate is not good for dogs, but I can tell you that it will not make this one sick! After the big rain last night, it even made it smell better!

Ok I know nothing about gardening. But why would you spread chocolate chips in your garden?

It's just regular mulch, like any other you might use. I had used it years ago and had a piece of a bag in the garage and wanted to get rid of it so used it in the smallest flower bed.

Not "chocolate chips" cocoa bean shells.

Where is the link for the guide book on page one that is PDF? I can only find the publisher one and can't open it.
Sandra

Harole Ann,
Thank you for clearing that up. I was confused. IT's probably a good thing I don't do gardening. It just seemed like a waste of chocolate.

Sandra

PS Can't wait to meet you and Garry and everyone else on the Dis. This is going to be a wonderful cruise.

Doctor to parent:

"Yes, I know it will stunt his growth, but it's ok - due to the calming effect he just won't care...."

20 years from now, same conversation:

"No, we don't use caffeine any more - turns out it really does stunt your growth" said the 4'3" doctor. "Now we recommend you just start him out with a brownie laced with pot. That will keep him nice and mellow all day - here's a perscription."

20 years later, same conversation:

"Dude, they used to use pot to calm kids down. Noooo I'm not the doc, I'm the janitor - I just like wearing his clothes. He'll be in soon to do your kid's frontal lobotomy. Don't worry, that will calm him down for sure...."

Dan, I love this. It gave me and DH a great laugh.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

See you soon,
Sandra

I'll have to see if I have a copy of Publisher lying around somewhere - I also can't read it as is...

The problem isn't the exchange rate - it's price gouging. Shame on them for the absurd prices. Shame on the tourists for paying and thus allowing it to continue.

You can pick up card readers that plug into a USB port. Just remove the card from your camera and plus it into the reader and it looks like a disk drive. You can then copy the images to your hard drive directly (usually faster than it would be using the camera's cable).

THanks for this. It will give DH another toy to look for.:lmao: :lmao:

Sandra

Congratulations on the pirate: !!!

Sandra

See you soon,
I love saying that:cool1: :cool1:

S.

Thanks--It is so incredible to think that in just one week we will be heading to the airport! All the girls at the beauty shop today were asking what I had to show them because I took the t-shirts in yesterday. They said they felt like they were going with us. I should have taken the fish extender. If it is not packed, I will take it next week. They all fell in love with our shirts! I think I could take orders and sell them!:cool1:

I just can't wait to see you!

We also use the card reader for our camera. The one I always use for some reason did not work on the laptop. I would have sworn I used it with it before, but guess I did not, so I am glad I tried it today. We had another one which worked fine, so glad that did not happen on the boat. One less drama!!

I guess I had better make us a salad and we will call that dinner as we ate earlier...

Chad finally got a hair cut. I will try to get pictures of both boys Saturday as they are in tournaments at the same place....Paris-------PA...Chad plays at 7:30 and Nathan at 11:00 and 1:30. If nothing else I should be tired and suntanned!:cool2:

How do you find out what your dining rotation is? We'd like to know before we go. I called DCL and they said you can't find out until you're on the ship. Is that true, or should I call back and try another reservation specialist?

Sandra

I am sure that is true; however, we have always started out in Lumieres. I think that most people without children start there. That has been the way we have found it to work. There are families with children there on night one, but most adult only couples seem to start with that restaurant. Now watch us start out some place different this time!

Harole Ann,

We have also started in Lumiere's on both cruises. Presumably because our kids are older. But there seems to be more people without kids on the Med cruises so I was wondering if you think the same rules will apply.

WE love Lumiere's, it's by far our favorite except of course Palo. Either way it's going to be a lot of fun and we're looking forward to meeting you soon.
