Take that back!!!! What do you mean she/he's not real! I saw her in the Santa Claus movies with Mother Earth, Father Time, the Molinator and all of their friends!

Yes, I thought when I came on last night, I was alone with like 10 posts to go for a pirate. So I asked if anyone was out there lurking around and I checked to see who's light was on. I only then noticed my tag changed and it seemed like it happened right then. So I'm merrily posting to get the pirate because no one answered and Mary Jo comes in with impeccable timing and snags the pirate. I was mid sentence and noticed that she had snagged the pirate. So I'm throwing a hissy fit when all of the sudden the screen refreshes and I have the pirate! Mary Jo's posts were deleted I guess. so now I'm thinking is it MaryJo who deleted (but I don't see that option) or is the Tag Fairy lurking around and playing games. I don't know. A Pirate Mystery.

I showed my husband my new tag (I'm such a child) - he's pretty sure that I've joined some DIS cult!! But, I did also show him the DVC section and he has been hanging out there quite a bit - wait, I think I just saw him in a saffron colored robe . . . he's going to the airport . . .

At the bottom right of each post are some icons. Whenever you see a post you would like to respond to, click on the following icon

We had a TON of goodies from the 11 nite southern cruise. AND frankly, it was HUGELY entertaining to see what showed up everyday. We donated some goodies for just the kids on the cruise and our DIS neighbors brought candy bags with mass printed labels affixed saying who they were from. A couple of evenings I walked the ENTIRE ship with my stoller and my neighbor wit thier stroller - as we used the strollers to carry the goodies we were dropping into the fish extenders.

We found we were phtographing every extender as we walked the ship - then it was taking so lojng that we eventually stopped because there were SO MANY. At one point it was something like 2 or 3 AM and we were still at it as we started late and ships security was shadowing us the whole time to ensure we were not up to "no good".

So... don't be shy. Get or make a creativfe fish extender... make a fun magnetic door sign and do indeed bring a couple of zip ties. On the southern sailing one generous DIS neighbor made fish extenders for anyone on the sailing who wanted one ... by hand! Of course a nominal charge was requsted to cover materials and postage - which was indeed minimal .... so a lot of folks had similar fish extenders.

I must say again- I love this idea, even if we only do it for the kids, if there are too many of us.Maybe we could have teams on each level of the ship giving out to that floor??? I do not know how the team will get the goodies from others who have goodies, but maybe someone can come up with an idea- maybe meeting at a certain time in a certain place to collect... or.. how about only giving out to your floor??? If we choose that I'm moving down to cat. 12 !!!!
I did not read much from your sailing - but is anyone running a secret mickey function? I thought that was a fun diversion. ANd what of a Mickey Ice Cream Eating Speed challenge? That was MY event...and I hosted it with personalized Bubba Mug trophies and award certificates signed by the ships' captain for EVERYONE who participated! I brought a P-touch label maker to personalize the trophies. Working with the front desk proved easy for this private function - and the Mickey Bars were free of course! Some of those pictures are posted on my photo slide show.
I think this is the same as the gift bags we are doing?????? But I love name secret mickey, if it is like secret santa- then we all ahve a name before hand and buy for that person with out knowing who has who- this is how I am going to do it for the kids as previously discussed long ago- but now that we ahve so many more people I will take another poll a soon as I get home

It may seem complicated ... but you get out of it what you put into it... and I would strongly encourage you to do the fish extender and perhaps think of something you'd like to share with the group as fish extender goodies. HOW big is the group anyways? How many cabins?

My biggest fear for this trip is that I've scheduled us for too much........we have excursions booked in every port.........we just don't want to miss anything but I also don't want to miss out on the fun ship activities!

Same here...My fear is that we will be too tired to enjoy the boat with all the excursions.. my other fear is having the late dinner seating- afraid I will miss all of you, or miss the shows, or miss meeting up with everyone after dinner, and being so starved after the excursion we will be eating double, a snack before dinner the dinner itself!!!!

Wow, such great ideas! I'm not sure how many cabins we have. I have an excel sheet and am up to over 165 people, and I don't even have everyone down yet.

I'm hoping we have enough down time. I haven't scheduled anything for Olbia, and just afternoons in Marseille & Villefranche, so we should be relaxed by the end of the cruise ... hopefully.

Sally, it's nice to have a fellow colleague on board. We must promise not to talk about academic standards or proficiencies.
I also did not book an excursion in Sard. and I forgot which one in France because I didnt want to do too many full day excursions. I think we will be exhausted by the end, so we will do a little on our own , and try to enjoy the boat as much as possible by then.
My daughter is very excited about meeting other kids from around the country and the world. She was on the site again today. How exciting and diffrent then when we were kids. Technology is so cool.

It truly is amazing

Here's a trick for postcards home...

At about $2.25 + connect time, it's a bit pricier than just dropping a postcard in a mailbox (which is, say .6 Euros from Italy), but if you have a laptop and are willing to brave the slow connection speeds, you can create a postcard online at usps.gov and they'll print and mail it for you. What's cool about this is you can use pictures you take on the cruise to create individual postcards.

For just sending pictures, there are services like shutterfly.com where they'll print and ship prints anywhere for a pretty reasonable price. I plan on using these as my mom doesn't believe in Email
