Oh - foergot to mention, DD just returned from seeing POC AWE at El Captian Theatre. I was able to get tickets to the marathon today. She left at 10 this morning and got home about an hr ago.

She wants to go see it again. No spoilers given but she did see some stars. S/A the vertically challenged pirate: , the witch/Calypso, Commodore James N. (spelling??). She said the the witch lady from POC II is really tiny and very pretty - oh yeah - and she speaks with an accent. I tell you that girl dyes her hair and has no need of it. :lmao:

Oh well - WHo's going on Sunday? I'll have to backtrack to check it out.

We'll be at the 12:40 show - My dd, Kelly, her boyfriend, my brother, and me. I have an extra ticket in case my ds comes, but if not - would you like to come down? This is the Annual Passholder event.

Just got back from POC. No celebrities here:-)

BTW - be sure to sit through the credits to see the final scene.

Thanks for the tip - I had forgotten about that.

I thought I'd better check with them the timings of the Magic fountain show -I would hate to have you all turn up an hour early /late :rolleyes1

This is their response ( Oh I also checked when sunset was;) )

Thank you for following up on this. I didn't even know about the Magic Fountain until it was posted on this thread. :)

What no body up yet???

I'm busy loading the motorhome up. Weather is sunny - just hope it stays that way.. Please pray that we dont have wind!!! Its no fun driving and setting up in the wind!

Have a WONDERful time! Bring us back a funny picture. ;)

Just reminding you,

Ok - Can we get some discussion going RE Magic fountain -

Summer: May to September
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 20:00 to 00:00 h
Shows with music at: 21:30, 22:00, 22:30, 23:00 and 23:30h

How about we meet at the fountain for the 22:30 - this would be a show with music. It would also be dark then for the lights. Then those who want can meet up beforehand and have a meal @ the 4 cats. ( 8pm) This is just a suggestion. I would be happy to organise the meal.

We could meet at the towers around 22:15 ready for the show.
I am going away on holiday tomorrow and wont be back until Sunday3rd June ( Stop jumping up and down joann !)

I really dont know how Im going to cope without my computer -Im treating it as kind of therapy.

If this plan is acceptable and you want to meet up then, let me know - For those who want to eat @ the 4cats send me a PM telling how many is in your group. When I get everyones reply I will email them and see about getting a reservation.

If any thing important is disscussed - please PM me - theres no need to tell me if andrew is fluffing ( Don't know about USA but in the UK that has another meaning )

When we went camping to Sequoia, I actually took my laptop so I could upload pics. My kids, one of their friends, and I were in a disabled bathroom looking at them because it was the only one with an outlet. No internet, though. (probably a good thing)

*******

Here's a story about my stay in Spain (lived in Madrid for a year when I was in college)... My friends & I were talking, and this man came up to us & started yelling at us in Spanish, saying (translated, of course) "HERE WE DON'T SPEAK CATALAN! HERE WE SPEAK CASTILLIAN SPANISH!" The dialect is so different between the Catalan in Barcelona environs versus the main language in the country, he assumed that we were speaking Catalan. When we explained we were Americans & speaking English, he couldn't apologize fast enough.

Just a memory that kind of stuck in my mind.

Oh, here's another one --- My friends & I were in "Las Cuevas" in Madrid (really cool taverns near the Plaza Mayor), and we were speaking to a gypsy who spoke excellent English. We asked him how he spoke English so well, and he explained that he worked with tourists. "So what do you do?" we asked. He replied, "I trick them, and steal from them. Oh, but you don't have to worry. You live here, so you're one of us." :scared1:

We did meet some interesting people. :)

Oh, Multi quotes are fun - I just need to get into the habit of doing it while I am reading - but like someone said, by the time you are ready to post your reply, you can't always remember what you were going to comment on, but I'll try . .

And a small, yet virtually unnoticed victory was realized by the lone Westcoaster, lurking at the keyboard...

Way to go! I was way too tired last night and we are 1 hour ahead of you

yes, that would be great. And maybe some stories about the amazing things?

Ditto - I would love to hear what special things you have had done - from her or any travel agent.

kidcoo3, got your check today.

Yahoo - the pony express comes through!!

Second - I am starting to wonder if I 'ad-libbed' Andrew's post names. OOOOPPPSS  - I may have said Will Smith instead of Will Turner - will have to check page 1. If I did - sorry everyone. UUUMMMMMM....did I tell anyone that can be a bit....shall I say....impulsive?
almost going down.
! :scared1: Dang girl - you are good! :thumbsup2[/quote]

Great job on the multi post!! So jealous! The original post did say Will Smith - havent' seen POC movies in awhile - I just went with it.

Just got back from POC. No celebrities here:-)

BTW - be sure to sit through the credits to see the final scene.

Thanks for the heads up

I GOT A NEW TAG

Very Cool - I like it.

And a small, yet virtually unnoticed victory was realized by the lone Westcoaster, lurking at the keyboard...

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I was fast asleep by that time. After the migraine I had to sleep. But my hubby worked really late so Obi-wan came in to keep mom company.

Not sure how to explain this at work sorry I'm late but i was playing pirates witha friend in California

OK - so it's 7:30 here, and I'm on a conference call and web conference. :rotfl: I'm so happy I can work from home.

OMgosh! That is so funny... I'm sure you'll get the same reaction as I will when I'm yawning at work tomorrow & the explanation I give will be that I was playing pirates w/my friend across the pond. pirate: :rotfl:

Thank you for playing. :)

:rotfl2: you guys are too funny.

Aurora, you were asking for puppy pic and name. This is Resa, she is almost a year and a half.

How cute! She's a blue merle, I love her spotting. Our blue merle has a huge white mane and blue eyes.

I'm going to have to check out this photobucket so that i can add photos.

Just got back from POC. No celebrities here:-)

BTW - be sure to sit through the credits to see the final scene.

We usually stay, especially if we think it is one that might have something at the end. But, the kids get antsie and want to leave. I will leave it as a surprise - thanks for the tip.

When the first POC came out - I surprised my hubby with an anniversary gift. We got up early, had the neighbor watch the boys and get them to school (we were year round at the time). Then we caught a flight from OAK to Burbank, rented a car. Then drove to the El Capitain to see the film. We had lunch nearby before the movie. Then we caught a flight home in time to pick the kids up from school. It was so much fun.

Our flight gets into Barcelona at 19:30 on Friday. I am not sure how long it is going to take to get through customs and then get to the disney counter for our transfer to the hotel.

I am planning on finding the fountain if possible. However it will be a call that we will make once we get to our hotel room.

There were some great suggestions for alleviating jet lag (although I won't be taking Viagra:rotfl2: HeHeHe:rotfl: ) does anyone have suggestions for sleeping on a plane? DH bought noise cancelling headphones, do they really help? And how do people sleep sitting up:cloud9:

I was going to download videos or TV shows or movies but I don't think staying awake is the way to go, I've never been able to sleep on a plane.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Memorial Day Plans

NONE :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
We are off today. Last night was our school's Arts and Academics Night so we get today off for a 4 day weekend.

WE actually have nothing planned for any of the 4 days. Just a long list of "Should Do" items.

I'm so busy leading up to Arts and Academics Night that I can't even think about making plans and then when it's all over I think "Oh no I should have planned to ... fill in the blank."

So instead I'm catching up on the DISboard and checking for our room assignment at Disney (none yet:confused: ) and checking out other options for our next cruise and nothing is getting done.

Hi Sandra... My daughter said to suggest bringing your DD so that she could talk and talk and talk- like she does- and then you will both fall asleep from exhaustion!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: She wont give up!!!:rotfl2:

We are actually concerned about the same thing.. Andrew had good suggestions about a hundred posts back.. but I remember the one that really stood out .. he said make sure you set your watch to Euro time as soon as your board, so that you will be conscience of it ,and I guess the mind over matter thing!

Memorial Day plans.. finishing up the summer planting in the garden, although its going to be very hot here today and tomorrow- and the beach!!!:beach:

Sallie,
DD just started looking at the Board for the 1st time and saw your post about bringing her so your daughter and she could talk and talk and talk. She said "you should really feel guilty right now!"

Uggh, Dh won't let me tell her about next year so I still feel guilty.

S

I remember the post from Andrew now I just have to go back and find it. I think from now on when something really valuable or important comes up I'll print it so I don't have to remember where it is. I always think I wll but then can't find it.

Tell her we are trying!!!!!! We are sending her this genie so so she can wish for a better trip in the future:genie:

I'm starting to get bummed that we can't meet everyone at "the fountain!"............how does everyone feel about....maybe wearing the necklaces (glow in the dark) on departure day? That way if we see each other (and we haven't met yet) we can say "Hello" before our Sunday meet?

I received a new promotional products catalog yesterday and it got me thinking about this: We already have our lanyards planned. I wonder if we could also have an online store with some products available for purchase with our soon-to-be banner artwork on them that we could receive BEFORE we leave ... like luggage tags, magnet clips, etc.

(Doing the Cabbage Patch dance) Just received a phone call from our TA. Thanks to info here I asked her to check into switching us from our ressie 10 room to Cat. 12. We did and saved enough to buy a good used vehicle for DDs upcoming 16 bday! TA is not a DU rep (which we have used before with great success), so probably won't be as fortunate as Julie for CAT 5 room bump. But we are still on GTY status and that's a good thing.

Thank you, thank you to all my DIS friends here. You made our weekend!

Unfortunately I have never had much luck sitting up on a plane and sleeping either -- I usually do try to rest, put on eye shades and pretend I'm sleeping for a few hours, but there's not much actual sleep going on. I just drink lots of coffee the morning of arrival in Europe and try to stay awake until at least 8 PM -- then by the next day I wake up at a normal time and feel fine.

I have updated, I will have to see about this, no joking my kids are early to bed and early risers, 8pm/9pm is usual bedtime, 10pm latest on holiday. I woudnt leave them.

Helen and Andrew I need some tips if I'm to keep up the pirate count while you're away timing has never been my greatest asset.....as is evident by my late arrival at work this morning!!!!!
I suggest just keep a word pro document and I can cut and paste in a week, everyone can name some names for it.

Set your watch to desination time as soon as you board, and try to work to that eat/drink etc, no Sodas for kids, water only and avoid booze

Try to sleep if you can asap on night flights maybe kids eat at airport and not eat on plane as if they sleep directly after a meal they will be sick, soda also the gas expands and keeps you awake or has other effects.

If arriving daytime stay up on local time go to back at dark, if you really cant stay up and its early say bed 8am to noon then get out and about in the sun, otherwise you stay on your local time.

OK My plans for Memorial Day weekend
