Pirates Won! Pirates Won!

Of course this means I have to get him to bed early because we have a 9am game, and have to be at the field at 8. But tomorrow's game is for the whole enchilada. Winner goes to TOC. (sigh)

So now a little moment to brag - This is Garet in his Pirates uniform, and his Chargers uniform from last season.

Great pics

I'm planning on having the glow necklaces, just in case for Friday, or at least for Saturday.

Hope you don't end up w/a headache & that you enjoy POTC III.

Hi there & welcome to our cruise :) Just put your info in a post & I'll add you to the spreadsheet. Name, who's going, 1st or 2nd dining, stateroom # or category, special celebrations... Andrew is also capturing this information on the first page of our thread (post 10), along with who is going on what excursions so we kind of know who we will be travelling with.

Kelly actually put that together for Halloween last year, and has worn it on a couple of occasions. This is her first Disney cruise, and she is ready to go. pirate:

I hope you didn't develop a headache today, and I agree with the Disney cruise comment -- too funny.

Good to hear that :thumbsup2
I think your pirate: idea was a very clever way of getting people to post.

Congrats!!

Yes we have an active thread now.

Hi all,

I just wondered what your family , partners, significant others think about the dis - I'll share what Dave and I talked about last night.

Last year was the first time we met up 'dis' people on a cruise. We both agreed it was the best thing we ever did. Dave to be honest is extremly shy and nervous around new people. He was over welmed at first last year meeting so many people at our dis meet -However having linked our dining reservations with 2 other families it was like we were dining with friends , not strangers. This worked so well and Dave was really comfortable @ dinner.

This year there will be a lot more of us than our meet last year. So pleased be patient if you see someone sitting quietly in the corner of our dismeet that will be Dave.

You know some of our friends say that I make up for Daves shyness - but I really dont know what they mean????:confused3

We are both really looking forward to this cruise. But I have to laugh -Dave has absolutly no idea where he is going (ie countries). We discussed the 5 excursions we booked through DCL - but apart from that he is clueless. I can see him now on the ship saying - so where are we going tomorrow:lmao: As for me I have a plan all mapped out.

Deep down Dave is a wanderer -He loves to go out for a walk but has no idea where he'll end up.

Me on the other hand - I have to know where I am going and more importantly - how I'll get back:goodvibes
:rolleyes1

Hi Deb,

Glad to hear from you;) Tell your DH to wear his shirt with pride:woohoo:

What stateroom are you in - sorry you dont have an upgrade.

Your cruise will be hear in no time at all. Do you get back before 24th July? If so please tell us about your trip on this thread.

Take care
xx

Helen

We will be on Cruise 18th July until 28th July 07 and I don't have laptop so I will write trip report and put photos too when I get home. Look like we cross over on 28th July!!

I got the Stateroom of 6014 (saw it on dlc website, not dreams unlimited yet) as I paid upgraded to Cat 8 from Cat 9 some months ago.

My mother and father in law booked it last two weeks ago and they booked for Cat 12 as they can afford it. We are happy that they are coming with us as their 40th anniversary and mil wil be 60th in August. Why not, lifetime for them. As mil was with us last year and she was really enjoyed herself and want to come back again! Mil is from Sunderland!!

Last year they want come and they cannot afford it until now.:thumbsup2

I discovered DIS courtesy of Google when looking for answers to questions. It wasn't until I saw the "meets" forum that I suddenly realized that this was the source of those large groups of people onboard who seemed to all know each other and be having a great time. Not that I didn't have a great time, but I do tend towards the quiet side in person, and am far more likely to be found on deck or in a lounge reading a book than partying out on deck.

So it's sort of a grand experiment for me. I've told the rest of my group about it, and my sister has lurked a bit but hasn't registered or posted. As for the rest, I guess they'll just meet everyone in person.

I do feel fortunate to be on this particular cruise, as it looks like this is going to be a fun a group of people as I could hope to meet.

The headache is still hanging in there,:headache: but we went to POTC III anyway and loved it! I do feel better this evening.:)

When we got home ddprincess: had sent Father's Day gift early and phoned to be sure that dh opened it upon arrival. I had to take a picture to send all of you as it could not have come on a better day.

She always puts photos in albums we send her of all of our trips and I never know when she is going to do something with one of them, but this is one of her best yet. These photos were taken on the West Coast Disney Cruise.

Very nice Helen :thumbsup2 What a great idea!

Thx! It is a crazy time of year, tempers are short (our school staff is alittle low right now....lots of changes....)
:sad1:

Anyway, my little pirate adventure made my day!pirate: I keep missing by one or two posts.........I'LL ADMIT IT....I'M COMPETITIVE.......:cool1:

One week of school to go.....EXTREMELY HIGH TEMPS TODAY W/HUMIDITY!!!:sad2: We had our "State Fair" show today with over 200 visitors (including grandparents) (I was worried due to the heat) but everything went very well except for my "heat" headache!:headache:

How did the New Yorkers do today???:scared:

We were expecting it to be 90 - the hottest day of the week - it seemed like it would get there, but by the afternoon - you could feel a chill in the air and a light jacket was needed by 5-6 pm. We also had fog, yes fog moving - it was just very strange - we felt rain coming too, but that did not happen

I hope it's warmer tomorrow - my daughter and the cheerleading team will have a car wash 10 - 4 pm (fundraiser).

Helen,

My dh and I are both "average" sociable and can be very quiet. We like to mingle but we also like to spend time on a lounge reading/having a drink quietly.

I can loosen up when we all meet a bit more since we have all been having conversations back and forth, where my dh will socialize and step back here and there -

He also has no idea what is going on. On a daily basis he will ask me - anything new on the boards? What excursions are we doing? Are we doing any excursions with Wendy (disneymagic316). I am the planner. He is really not on the computer much and can just barely open up and read mail ;)

We look forward to meeting everyone and spending some time together. For our first dcl cruise - we met a lot of people at the Radisson Hotel (not a dismeet) and it was fun bumping into them all week on the cruise and chatting.

If you guys are up all night partying and we are not there - it's not because we are not sociable - we can't stay up. Our body is an alarm clock, we get up at 4/4:30 am daily (even when off) and cannot keep our eyes open early evening. We have missed a show here and there - we were there, but sleeping on the chair :confused3

Okay, I am writing a book here now.:rolleyes1

I found the DIS many years back, in fact far earlier than my details show, as I had a diffierent name for a while with a different password, and after a gap in posting forgot it!!

I also had a different internet provider then AOL, so couldnt trace it as my e,mails etc changed.

I found the Dis from a connection to Debs ALLEARSNET, I obtained a lot of information there over the years for WDW trips, and checked out sites such as passporter and WDW Magic, but this had the most active forums and a UK one as well.

Using DREAMS more, the two went more hand in hand, and from 2002, I started cruising with DCL, so used that board a lot.

Posting mostly on the USA side I thought my new DISname should have a UK, in it as sometimes people diddnt realise the time zone or English differences.

My kids read dis posts but have many other interests, My wife jokes a bit about it.

HI Harole Ann
I glad your headache is a little better- I love your Father's Day gift- We got Jimmy some new clothes for the trip and a new BBQ.
The kittens are crazy-!! They are into everything and causing havoc-!! I dont quite remember the other two being this "bad" but it was 15 years ago, and I think each time I have a flash, more of my brain cells are fried- so my memory is going with the eyesight and body parts!!! am going to try snap a few pics of them since I am off today.
9 days 1 hour and I am a free teacher!!!!!!!! I cant wait!!!!!!!:dance3: :yay:

Andrew.. yes, we will meet up at dinner and plan our excursion meets... its getting closer!!!!:upsidedow

How did the New Yorkers do today???:scared:

HI Joann
We had our :"Fun Day" yesterday... the whole school out on the hot field playing different games. It was so hot, 2 kids were sent to nurse for heat exhaustion!:scared: Tempers here are also at a dangerously high level...teachers are not pretty when they are hot, tired, and have had enough!!!
