July 27, 2008 West Coast Magic - 10 Years of Magical Cruising

Was there in June for about 3 weeks. DS and family live probably 5 minutes away. We went to Ko'Olina several days. Had a thread going and had several pics posted around the area of Ko'Olina. The pics are at the start of the thread. We went to the Lagoons and the pool areas and it was such a large area, didn't even see all of it.

If you live on the East coast, it is such a long trip to Hawaii. That is the only thing that I dislike about it.

There are $9 flights to the Big Island all the time and the locals go there for their get aways all the time. My DIL and children flew to the Big Island yesterday and staying until tomorrow.

It's absolutely a beautiful place

Thanks for the pictures Kay they were great..have never been to Hawaii but Dh always wants to go but we always seem to go somewhere else

So is your son still in iraq or is he home know? That must be very hard when he is gone. I live here in San Diego and have many friends who's DH and Ds and Dd are over there.

So how long have they lived there, must be nice when you go for a visit.

I will for sure buy more DVC pts. Glad at this point the we have 400 and that all those rooms should make it easy enough to get in or on a waitlist at the 7 mo. mark.

He just left Iraq yesterday and is in Kuwait which is a holding spot before they leave for the trip home (him to Hawaii). He has been there for 17 months and this was his 3rd time there. SO SO SO Happy for him to be home by his b/day next Wednesday, 10/10.

I have visted twice since they have lived there. Before he left this time, in Oct. of 2005, we went for him and DIL to renew their wedding vows before he left. What a wonderful renewal that was - the ceremony was on the North Shore at sunset and awesome. They have lived there a little over 3 years.

OK kiddies, we are off to WDW on 10/20 and will be at OKW till 11/4. Will be doing MNSSHP 10/23, TZTOT 13 K run on 10/27, (this is actually the start of my B-day celebration which ends when I feel like it should end and have full authority to extend it till a date suitable by me). We have the DEMA show a few days towards the end of our stay 10/31-11/3.

So if any of ya are going to be there during that time let us know, I know some of ya will be, Georgie and Joe, and I think Celeste, Anna, to name a few off the top of my full little brain. Connie will you also be working? Bob and Cheryl…. Wow my brain is starting to kinda work…. Jeff and Jen and Catherine... See ya really meet some great folks cruising.

I am suppose to go back to Ft. Lauderdale with Kay on Sunday morning once we get off the Wonder. Maybe I could talk her into going to WDW? We are on the DVC member cruise and then staying doing B2B.

You couild always keep them and buy less DVC pts and hotel hop for your vacation and stay at 2 different places

I wish WDW was out here and DL was in Florida

Even though we go to DL often it does feel at times to be the same old same old. Would love to have an Epcot!!! they need an Epcot out here.

That would make DL an even more better place to visit

It stopped and there was an announcement. Then a few seconds later the flood lights came on. We then had to wait maybe 5 minutes for a CM to unlock the lap bars and walk us out.

I'm back from my bicycle ride from San Francisco to LA. My bike and I have decided to take seperate vacation for awhile.

Now I just have to get back to work.

I'm not sure we can afford a cruise 2 summers in a row. Maybe MIL will pay for it. She didn't want to join us this summer ("been there, done thant"), but she really liked the Alaska cruise she took a couple years ago. She also thinks Hong Kong sounds interesting. Hmmmm.
