So, how did the reservation system work for people this morning. I was online at 5:00am west coast time and the system was updated and ready to go. It took me about 15 minutes to complete my reservation. The system was slowing down as I went along, but all in all, it worked well for me this morning. Much better then in the past.

Hello. My DW and DD and I will be joining you (they just don't know it yet!) on the 7/27/08 West Coast cruise. Our first cruise will be this coming December for a 3-day intro cruise to get our feet wet. I went all out for the 3 day since we will have her parents and aunt and uncle (Roy Disney Suite surprise). Unfortunately, I can't do the same for the Mexico cruise. I did get us a Cat 5 around mid ship on deck 7. Anyone stay in a Cat 5 before? Are they nice? We will only have my wife and I and our 3 year old daughter on that trip. Also, I booked direct with Disney online. Anyone know if it makes sense to book through someone else? Sorry for all the questions, but am really excited for my unnanounced trip to the west coast.

Welcome aboard!

We usually stay in a midship cat 6 which is the same as a midship cat 5 (just one deck down). We like the room and the verandah. One option that many people have done is take the reservation made directly with DCL and move it to a travel agent. For example, move the reservation to Dreams and you get there shipboard credit. But you have to remember, once you move the reservation to a travel agent, DCL will no longer talk to you directly about that reservation - you have to go through your travel agent.

Ken

Hi, we are booked too! It will be my DH, myself and DD Jamie who will be 16 next year. See you soon. I booked on line, telephones were 167 minute wait.....

Based upon the limited number of posts here, it would appear that bookings for the west coast cruises are not taking off like they did for the 2005 cruises. At least not for the 7 day cruises. It looks like there is lots of interest in both repos. Having done the May 2005 repo, I can understand why the interest in those cruises is so high.

Ken

Hi there...we did the Repo in 2005 but one of my sons starts HS on Aug 9th so could not do...
So since we live here in SanDiego seemed to make perfect sence to hop aboard...

This is what will be going on for dining.....

"Dining attire varies by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general,
most meals are "Cruise Casual" -- no shorts, swimwear or tank tops;
jeans are allowed. Most cruises also have special theme nights. Below is
the recommended attire for your cruise itinerary and is subject to
change:

On 7-night Mexican Riviera cruises:
*Nights 1, 3, 4, & 7: cruise casual
*Night 2: "formal night" - formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for
women: gown or dress
*Night 5: pirate night with deck party
*Night 6: "semi-formal night" - semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket;
for women: dress or pantsuit.

Dress for dinner at Palo on all cruises:
Men: dress shirt or jacket
Women: dress or pantsuit

At this time we are still finalizing the evening show schedules and
expect to have them available very soon.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you!"

Welcome aboard "Got Disney"

The Back to Back sounds like a great idea. We are doing our owe B2B on the EB Med repo and 1st Med cruise. It should be a great time!

We also plan to convert to DVC points at some point.

Ken

Hi Ken...WOW...B2B for the Med cruise sounds great!!!long trip...but got the best of both worlds doing that..lots of port days and lot's of sea days...I love sea days...and can do lot's of relaxing without feeling rushed...

WE do not care for 7 day cruises they just go way 2 fast!!!! If the points are 2 high and we need to cancel one of the cruises than we will just use our pts for 7 days at DL....:thumbsup2

So will you be on DCL new ship in 2010 for Alaska:rotfl2: heres to hoping:thumbsup2 ...I will;)

I know of at least one other couple booked for this cruise. So, I guess we will just have to work a little harder to keep the thread going until a few more people join in.

Welcome aboard Jen! Wow - you just doubled the number of people onboard.

Ken

Also, I booked direct with Disney online. Anyone know if it makes sense to book through someone else? Sorry for all the questions, but am really excited for my unnanounced trip to the west coast.

Many people move their reservations from DCL to a travel agent. There are a number of choices when it comes to travel agents. I've used Costco in the past. Dreams is a popular choice around here.

We will be cruising on DVC points, so DVC will be our travel agent.

So since we live here in SanDiego seemed to make perfect sence to hop aboard...

WE have a back to back booked and am hoping that the DVC pts are not to high so we can pay cash for the July 20-27 with cash and the July 27-Aug 3 with points...

Since we could not do 14 days through the Panama Canal we will do 14 days through Mexico...:thumbsup2

We are in CAT 6 room # 6064 we have 2 sons ages 11 and 13 at this date...:cool1:[/QUOTE]

Hi Got Disney,

Hi is that when you are sailing?....I will start one this wekend....

Our TA for this cruise will be DVC also. I will wait to move to DVC on my next cruise so I can get discounted points for booking within the 48 hour window after getting off the cruise.

I know that this cruise is a long way off, and many of us have one or more cruises before this one. But I still hate to see us drop to far down the list. So I guess we will be on "bump patrol" for awhile until more people start joining in.
