July 26, 2011 – 7 Night Alaska ~ Bears, Whales, Eagles and Ducks. Oh My!

Trying not to panic too much here. Magnets printed today...thanks for the reminder earlier, Angie! Dh packed tonight so I can finally put our dinner clothes in the suit cases. Tomorrow I have to gather all of the little stuff -- passports, jewery, HBA stuff. DH worked on charging all the cameras and batteries tonight. ACK!!!!! Once the suitcass are ready I will feel much better. We leave at 5:30 am Saturday.

Lisa, make sure you have your passports, camera and a change or two of underwear. All else you can do without if you forget something. :thumbsup2:)

How fun! We were hoping to change plans and leave early but with my mom getting sick, we nixed that idea. She has bloodwork today and monday just before we leave for the airport. Hoping all is well.

Have fun Lisa and thanks again for your help with the hotel. We get in Monday night!

See you in Canada!

Making lists and checking them at least twice. Will pack tomorrow, we leave Sunday morning for Vancouver. Still have a little work on FE gifts. Wish I was home now, this will be a very long day at work. After the heat and hunidity we have been having this week we are looking forward to some refreshing weather/temperatures. It has been "Florida" hot but not quite "Florida" humid.

Looks like the weather we are heading to is the weather we had here up until late June. low 60s and showers every day.

I wonder what their rain is like. Off and on rain or constant rain. Whatever it is we will habve a great time. I can't believe we are going to Alaska! :cheer2:

Someone on our other meet thread said that they just got back last week and the forecast called for rain everyday but it hardly ever did. Vancouver is going to be beautiful with the temps getting up to 77 on Sunday!!!

FL isn't as hot as NC lately. Today it says that the temp is 90 in Orlando with a heat index of 100. Right now we are at 95 with an index of 108. I am VERY glad that it will be early and a bit cooler when we show up at the airport with our jackets, the low is only suppose to get to 78. Looking forward to enjoying the cooler temps for a bit. :)

Weather.com says showers every day. I would think that would be off and on.

I can not believe I am actually going to make it on theis cruise. My family has had a very bumpy ride this year, and I am so grateful that we are soon to be on our way!

I know I wasn't much of a talker/poster but I have been following along. Can't wait to put names and faces together.

Flight leaves at noon today for Seattle!

See ya'll at the pool.

Robin

Yep, See you REEEEAAAAL soon!!!

Nice thread just found it today. LOL

The family is ready for the cruise rain and all. This is our second Alaska Cruise. My wife and I did one in 92 with another line and loved it. Too bad Disney did not offer and outside passage or land excursion package for the cruise.

This will be our first Disney cruise.

Welcome!! :woohoo: Introduce your family. We are Dennis and Angie sailing with our grandson, Aaron, who is 11. We also have more folks from here in Montana coming with us. One is a couple who have not cruised before and one a friend her daughter and grandson, Ike, who is 2.

We will be meeting by the Mickey Pool at 3 to introduce the kids. Please feel free to join us.

Packing, packing, packing . . .

Safe travels to everyone - we leave for Seattle tomorrow at 3:30. Train first thing Monday morning to Vancouver!

It was an awful winter this year, but I can tell you, I can't wait to get out of the sauna formerly known as the state of Ohio!

I can't believe that I leave tomorrow to head to Vancouver. I feel like I am not prepared for the trip. But, I know once I board the Wonder on Tuesday it will all be okay.

I am planning on doing the meet at 3 pm. I have a 6 year old son, Noah who will be traveling with me.

I have learned a lot from the board even though I have not posted much :)

Thank you for the warm welcome.

My name is Tom. My wife Mary and our 12 YO son Keith will be on board. We leave BWI, Baltimore International Airport, Monday at 06:00:thumbsup2 and fly into Vancouver. Disney has us at the Pacific Rim Hotel for the night. Coming from the east coast we thought we would get into town a day early and do a little sight seeing.

We will also have a sister in law with her friend on the trip as well. The cabins are right across the hall from each other, I think. LOL My wife made the arrangements so I expect no problems.

We are also are going to be grateful to escape the heat. It has been brutal in the DC area all last week.

This is our first Disney cruise so I really do not know what to expect but I know it will be fun. Using the reward points from our Disney charge card brought the cost of the trip down considerably. I was surprised that the Disney phone rep was not able to set up our on board charge account to use the Disney reward points first before charging the charge card. The rep said we need to do that once we get on board the ship at Guest Services. So I will be waiting in a line once I get on board. ;)

I will try to make the 03:00 meet at the Mickey pool but I doubt that my wife will be there. She is not too big on things like this. I am very active on two car forums and like to attend meets and help other members out.

Well it is after 6am so I need to get ready for church then continue a shed build in the back yard. Later on today is a family party, pool and crab feast, for the first birthday for my cousin’s oldest doughtier first girl. They also have two sons.

Tom, sounds like a busy day for you! Bring your son to the 3 pm meet if he would like to meet some other kids. It makes it easier to enjoy the clubs if they see some familiar faces. There are at least a couple near his age. :thumbsup2 We took our first DCL trip in 1999, thinking it would be a once in a lifetime thing....this is our 12th. Be careful or you will get hooked!
